Drank the K&N Kool-Aid
My Cobalt has a K&N filter. I'd like to have gotten the entire intake, but it was over $200 ... yeah, maybe later... Anyway, I think it had lost some power since it was brand new, as engines do over the course of their life, but there was definitely a noticeable difference in acceleration/onramp merging performance, and fuel economy. After a few years I was struggling to get 25mpg in town under normal (for me) driving, but now it basically gets the same mileage it did when it was new: 28-29 in town, 35 on the freeway.

Don't bother being creative
I've done that too.I worked for a small(ish) family owned grocery store when I was in high school, but unforunately that was my first taste of Management by Subversion. The middle managers were all idiots, and if you ever did anything right, they'd run to the bosses and take all the credit "No thanks to you", while smearing your name all over their rug.

Design Competition #5 -- Dodge Compact Sedan
Okay, got some linework here. I'll color it later. I apologize for the crummy scan quality, but my scanner bought the farm, and I have to use the archaic 10-15-year old scanners at the public library. This is the front I was having so much trouble on: Yes, I know: "Holy negative camber, Batman!" Rear takes cues from the '69 Barracuda (design wise, my favorite year just because of those lights): May tweak it a bit, not entirely satisfied with the proportions here. and most certainly not the wheels. the rear one looks like its about to fall off. SRT-4 Version. Bottom wording says: 300hp--AWD--5-sp SMG. Front valence inspired somewhat by the Seat Ibiza Bocanegra and the GTR. Yeah, some may find it ugly, but Mopars always "Look like s***, go like stink!"

Why So Serious?
Meh. the wing's not really that bad. it kinda solves the "droopy draws" rear styling they had. I always liked everything from the C-pillar forward. Of course I like the two successive generations better, styling wise.

2012 C-Class coupe
I like this thing a lot. It's got classic proportions and a clean design. The Caddy, the Audi and the BMW look better, but the C is still rather fetching. Plus it's got more brand history (read: label-snobbery) than any of the aforementioned cars. ...and I fully expect an AMG version, and it will be badass.

2012 Civic unveiled
Well, it's curvier, which is good. And I daresay that it looks much better than the current model (though that's not saying much). There's much more drama in the design, and it isn't nearly as ho-hum bland as its been in the past. I like the rear q-windows on the coupe, but the front side windows are just fussy and horribly executed. Were they trying to make it more aerodynamic with the windows down or something? Being that its a Civic, I still don't like it on principal alone (Lord knows how many ricer douchebags are gonna scoop these up and do flybys on innocent motorists like they've got something to prove), but it's also still no prize, aesthetically. What's wrong with the compact market? The only one coming out that doesn't look like the bastard child of a 90's anime mecha is the Focus (which instead looks like a catfish).

huh. Interesting that the 3er is the same size as a Cruze. I always thought the Bimmer looked bigger than that. So I suppose it's pretty much Cruze-sized; maybe a couple inches longer. Still about a dollar bill shorter than a Malibu. The proportions of this (Dodge) are killing me. I'm trying to make it Focus/Cruze sized, but I'm so used to doing low, slinky, swoopy, and it doesn't feel like it's translating too well so far. I tried applying a rakish roofline, sculpted beltline, and my trademark grille, but I ended up drawing a Mazda 3.

well they're somewhat right, but not for the reasons they mention. It's been my experience that if you show any signs of cleverness, your superiors immediately become threatened and proceed to make your life a living hell. Leadership seems to be dead nowadays; it seems the only way people get anywhere is subversion of their subordinates. The idiots always rise to the top.

Yeah, I'm workin' on a little somethin'-somethin'. Anyway, the Bravo and Guilietta are both Golf-sized, most of the C-segment cars in Europe are about that small. Can't really see that either Fiat or Alfa have anything more Focus/Cruze/Civic-sized, but then I don't really know how big the 159 is. I wanna say it's more Fusion/Malibu sized, but I can't get any real point of reference on its scale.
