  1. I think their weight is the issue...lots of power and torque, but in heavy cars.
  2. I wonder if Hyundai is working w/ HBO on a product placement deal for this in their show 'Entourage'..
  3. Keep KITT a Pontiac. G5!!! G5!!! G5!!!
  4. I'd like to visit Dubai..I think it would make for an interesting vacation..
  5. Yes, after all, it is a GM car built in a GM plant...look at all the GM cars built in Canada, Mexico....( or the Aveo built in Korea, or the GTO in Australia).
  6. Ice.

True 'nuff..the Super Duty (since it's '99 introduction) kind of followed on to the mini-big rig look the Ram started in '94. Agreed on the Titan...that is one wierd looking truck. The front doors and cab-forward style A-pillars in particular make it mis-proportioned and disjointed, IMHO...
  8. Maybe they will use a G5 or G6.. Another dreadful old show that shouldn't be remade, IMHO.
  9. GM already has a compact sedan in the Cobalt..do they really need another? Given the Ion was a dud, going all-hatchback would be a good differentiator for Saturn..

Maybe not the F150, but the Super Duty definitely has the macho thing going on..massive grille, general hugeness ...
  11. I doubt if there is going to be a coupe..didn't Dodge and Chrysler drop their coupes (Avenger/Sebring) a while back?

The macho crap sells in some markets, I guess....Texas? Trucks in general seem very popular there..
  13. I assume we are just getting the 3dr and 5dr, but the Twin Top would be good to have here--it would give Saturn a coupe and 4-seat convertible to compete with the Eos. I wonder if it is going to be called the Saturn Astra--sounds better than Ion and fits well with Aura, IMHO.
  14. They are just stupid if they think the Corvette and XLR are 'the same thing'. They have some components in common ('dirty bits' underneath), but the bodies, interiors, engines, etc are different..

I'm really liking the Brera the more see pics of it..I like the GT also quite a bit..
  16. I wondered about the overhang, but I think the rear overhang is actually considerably shorter than it looks due to the black disguise...the right edge of the rear bumper is not at the far left of the photo, but really below the right taillight and the edge of the wing. If the wheelbase were 5-6 inches onger, it might end up looking strangely proportioned like the G6...
  17. Hmmm.. how does the G6 and GP relate to the Zeta Commodore??
  18. Hmmm..the lower rear door cutline is very BMW-3 series..looks like it has a long rear overhang and a short front one, and a decent RWD front door to front wheelwell distance.. Looking at the disguised C-pillar I can make out a BMW-like rear door upper frame shape also.. My first impression is that the greenhouse looks like an Audi A4 roof and C-pillar blended with a BMW 3-series doors..
  19. My first car was a 5dr hatchback ('84 Ford Escort L diesel). My second car was/is (still have it) a 3dr hatchback ('87 Ford Mustang GT). I've always preferred hatchbacks to trunked models for compacts and subcompacts...a hatch makes a small car much more practical than a tiny trunk, IMHO. Some hatchbacks that have a more vertical rear window are kind of like a wagon, which is ok..I like wagons and SUVs (which are really just wagons of different sort). Looking back over almost 20 years of driving, I've always had at least one hatchback, whether it was a car or SUV.
  20. The Pontiac V-crest emblem brings excitement to the B-segment!!! While the Chevy Aveo provides solid value in the B-segment.
  21. Weren't the 'southern country folk' the ones that gave us the KKK and other racist things (segregation, etc)? Not to mention right wing religious fanatics like the AFA. About the only thing I see good that came out of the old South is the food (bbq, etc) and music (the blues, jazz, etc)..
  22. What I thought was stupid was the wording of the press release.... nothing wrong with the idea of Toyota sponsoring something, but the wording said the Tundra was sponsoring the tour...a truck is an inanimate object, and there for incapable of sponsoring something.. It would be just as stupid to see 'Chevy Cobalt sponsors 50 Cent'...
  23. Pontiac dealers in the US are itching for it, I bet..
  24. 'beater'..generic term for a cheap car that you would maintain mechanically but it isn't worth enough (old, high mileage, etc) to keep cosmetically pristine... Some people may have one as a daily driver or winter car and have something nice for the weekends.
  25. True 'nuff..many Japanese cars are built in the US.
