Did anyone notice the new Honda Fit print ads? Kind of strange, with cartoon pics and odd phrasing like 'Greetings, humans!'. With the tag line 'Fit is go!'.
  2. I'm sure Domesticated is.. It's the all-new, first ever G5! Guaranteed excitement!!!!
  3. Looks great..esp. in the latest photos. I can't wait to see it in person...maybe I can convince my g/f to trade her '01 330Ci up on one.. I could see myself in one of these, it would make a great all-around daily driver.
  4. I'm not sure if I've ever said 'Ecotech' outloud, but I'd pronounce it E-co-tech, pronouncing 'eco' as in ecology. An 'Echo' pronounciation would require it to be spelled Echotech or Eccotech (like the shoe company--Ecco), I think..
  5. A lot of people know about the Skyline GT-R, the fact that we all know what it is is proof enough that the car is fairly well known in the automotive world, despite never being sold in N/A. Since this is a low volume car, and peopel who are car enthusiasts will be the ones buying them, Nissan doesn't have to worry about the uptight rich guys who just want an expensive toy but don't want it under a Nissan badge, or Altima buyers who just want a family car. Exactly..there are car enthusiasts in the US who have been aware of the GT-R for years...I first heard about them about 15 years ago--read about gray market imports of the R32 version to the UK in Car or another British magazine...then got the Tamiya 1:24th model kits, then saw one for the first time in 1999 when I was in the UK. I've seen a few here in the US in the last couple of years also...
  6. I am dissapointed they are calling it just 'GT-R', 'Skyline GT-R' sounds much better, IMHO....though I think in Japan this generation is going to be just 'GT-R' also, since it's not based directly on the Skyline (current generation is the G35 in US) anymore...
  7. From the company the brought out the very wierd Rodius (minivan inspired by the Aztek and Merc ML-class) comes the Actyon Sports...very strange...looks like a surrealist vision of a Ridgeline-type vehicle.. Ssangyong Actyon
  8. Get over it...symmetry is overdone and too predictable..nothing wrong with asymmetry in a design. I'm bored with all the current designs that have everything left-right symmetrical...I miss the traditional BMW driver oriented designs, for example...
  9. I was talking Euros... I think the only VW made in Mexico (Peso) and sold in the US is the Jetta...
  10. How about Steve Buschemi....or he just scary looking..
  11. Right..it probably wouldn't be cost-effective.. the exchange rate is part of why VW is having problems in the US, for example.
  12. GM is an international company with plants in many countries..they should be able to source their cars from any of their plants when it is cost-effective to sell in a particular market..the Aveo isn't made in the US, for example..
  13. Robert Hall replied to Satty's topic in The Lounge
Scary stuff... they should be euthanised, IMHO.
  14. It's almost $3 here in Denver..noticed $2.97 for premium (91) today.. I'm going out to LA tommorow for a long weekend..probably over $3 in some places there.
  15. Greensboro, NC, sites near Chattanooga, Tenn., Roanoke, Va., and northeast Arkansas being considered for new Toyota plant... San Antonio truck plant likely to expand. Toyota plant
  16. I like jazz...I went to a concert in Boulder last week and saw the Charlie Hunter Trio and Christian McBride w/ DJ Logic.. good stuff...a lot of guitar and piano work, with some sax. There was also Robert Previtt (sp?) who was doing some very abstract electronic drum work.. As far as 'smooth jazz', I like some of it--Boney James, David Sanborn, David Benoit.. I enjoy older jazz on occasion..I have some Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Weather Report, John Coltrane in my CD rack...
  17. Interesting that it's engineering goal was to be "the best performing front-wheel-drive sedan in the world"...that used to be the Maxima's aspiration ('4dr Sports Car'). The Maxima seems to be settling into more of an Avalon role today.
  18. Maybe they are working out bugs..better to launch smoothly later than launch prematurely with a bunch of problems..
  19. That's what I've always assumed...Turbo V6...but research turned up the Syclone had a 4.3 while the Buick had a 3.8. There was a version of the Trans Am with the 3.8 V6 turbo, though...
  20. That's where Chevy comes in...the value proposition.
  21. Antenna, I think..for OnStar or XM, probably.. the louvered thingy with the 4 handles is some sort of dual mode kitchen tool, I think (draining plate?)
  22. Hmm... Solstice and Sky are on some other Greek letter platform, I think...can't recall which one right now.
  23. A more important question, though, is which one has a better nav screen (display, not the buttons and plastic trim) and how the nav works?
  24. Yeah, when I first saw the pics, I didn't think it had changed very much...pretty subtle evolution. I like it..
  25. It's simple...as an owner/driver of a car, the interior is where you spend all your time..I don't care how good looking the exterior is, if I'm not happy with the interior (looks, fit and finish, quality of materials, comfort, ergonomics, features), I'm not happy with the car...I'm sure a lot of buyers feel the same way...
