Pontiac: Nothing but rwd cars?
I'd like to see Pontiac abandon the BMW-esque nostrils and do something pointy...my favorite Pontiac front ends of the past had a pointy nose between twin grilles--- '68-69 GTO, '62-69 Catalinas, Bonnevilles, '70-73 Firebirds, '73-75 Grand Am, for example..a modern front end with some edges and not just a smooth flat nose with 2 grille openings...

Florida bound - badly awaited vacation
I've been to Baltimore once, for a conference in May '97, a few weeks before I moved from Michigan to Colorado. I remember the Harbor and Fells Point being very nice, but the neighborhoods between them being a bit sketchy. Been to DC once--spent a four day weekend there in '96, around the time of the cherry blossoms in Spring..went down to Mt. Vernon. Neat city, I should go back and see the museums, etc again. I spent most of this past Monday wandering around Pittsburgh, a city I hadn't been to in over 10 years...lots of things have changed, lots have stayed familiar.. As far as this summer, only one trip planned so far...a week on the beach in San Diego and a few days in Palm Springs and Phoenix afterwards at the end of this month through July 4th. I'll probably go somewhere Labor Day, maybe visit friends in Portland (it would be nice to see Oregon when there's no freezing rain).

2008 Camaro?
kewl... maybe the Camaro will be seen in Fast And The Furious 4 (probably due in Summer '08).

Death of the V8?
The CV is just so old and dated looking, small inside for it's size, and I definitely wouldn't want to drive something that looks like a taxi. The Five Hundred has a much nicer interior also... That said, I would like to see Ford build a modern RWD V8 sedan for the US--something like Chrysler's LXes or GM's upcoming Zetas..

Death of the V8?
The Crown Vic at this point is largely just a fleet vehicle...I can see them keeping it around indefinitely for the police and taxi market. The Five Hundred is a better, far more modern car for consumer use..

Pontiac: Nothing but rwd cars?
Alas, the reality of 2007 is that there will be one RWD Pontiac, 4-5 FWD models (is the Montana SV6 gone for '07?) and one AWD crossover. It will be interesting to see how it looks in 3-5 years..

...
The last Broncos were '96..replaced by the Expedition in '97. What happened with the Taurus, I think, was after the redesign with sci-fi styling in '96, they basically ignored it.. one restyle in '00, and nothing much afterwards. Ford shifted their focus (no pun) in the US to high profit margin trucks and SUVs through the nineties into the early noughties..

Florida bound - badly awaited vacation
I'm flying to Pittsburgh tommorow to visit family for Memorial Day weekend, then going to San Diego for a week of beach time around the 4th of July & my birthday..

Camaro Engine Lineup Speculation...
5.7 would be a good size for the V8...has a lot of historical significance both as 5.7 and '350', moreso than the 305, IMHO.. The I-6 from the GMT-360s would be a good base engine, but I suspect they will go with a plain old pushrod V6 for packaging reasons..

GM Powertrain Unveils 3.6-Liter VVT Engine With DI
Well, given the cost of engineering this new platform (albeit shared with other Zeta-based upcoming models), and low projected volume and low prices needed to compete with the Mustang, I don't see how it could be a high-profit vehicle...
-
Camaro Engine Lineup Speculation...
I'd like to see the LS7 used elsewhere than the Z06 eventually..it's the ultimate evolution of the Chevy pushrod V8, and deserves wider usage, IMHO...I'd like to see it in a special Camaro, the upcoming Zeta Impala, or (my favorite) a Z06 version of the Tahoe and Suburban....

TCC Review: 2006 BMW Z4 M
Based on the pics I saw in Top Gear and Car, I like the styling of this car more than the odd Z3 coupe/ M Coupe of a few years ago..

GM Powertrain Unveils 3.6-Liter VVT Engine With DI
Yes, I'd like to see this also, but knowing GM, they are going to try and do it on the cheap and use their old-school engines...they will probably dumb it down and use a 4-spd auto and 5-spd manual.

if you thought the monte was ugly before...
I think this is the first time I've seen a donk-style car done from a FWD unibody car... donks usually seem to be old RWD BOF GMs..

Do Interiors Really Matter That Much?
Interiors are definitely a big selling point with me..after all, I spend the most time inside the car, so I have to be able to live with the interior..comfortable seats, good ergonomics, lots of features, quality sound system, quality, soft-touch materials, color choices (no bigger turn off for me than depressing gray hard plastic--I'm just sick of gray interiors completely).. I love a good looking, good handling, fast car, but if I had to live with a cheap, nasty interior, I wouldn't be interested..

if you thought the monte was ugly before...
Heh-heh..nah, it's probably some ghetto gangsta-wannabe hip-hop fan. Poor kid could have spent the same amount of money and bought something nice..

Camaro Engine Lineup Speculation...
I don't think they are going to build it without a V8..not going to happen. If they want to compete with the Mustang, there is going to be something around the same price range with a 300hp V8. Called 'Z-28' probably, then a higher powered SS.. (Or vice versa on the names).

GM Powertrain Unveils 3.6-Liter VVT Engine With DI
If they have to use old engines, is it better to do this than not build a Camaro at all? Remember, GM is fighting for survival and this is supposed to be a cheap, low-profit model..

Cadillac Renaissance: Miracle or Mirage?
The automatic lights can be turned off...

The next Impala. A bigger impact than Camaro
You are missing the point.

The next Impala. A bigger impact than Camaro
Whatever..I'd still rather have a manual, leave the automatics to the mainstreamers... I just find a manual to be more fun to drive..one of the reasons I enjoy BMWs.

GM Powertrain Unveils 3.6-Liter VVT Engine With DI
Those numbers do seem low..you would think they would eventually spread the use of this engine across all the mid size models and retire the OHV V6s..

Cadillac Renaissance: Miracle or Mirage?
Good point..by the way, anyone have yearly sales figures for the 'Slade?

Cadillac Renaissance: Miracle or Mirage?
In the last year, I've test driven the G35, CTS, IS, 325 (E46), A4, and TL and really enjoyed the feel and handling of the CTS, but the interior was a let-down..it would be acceptable in a $20k car, but just wasn't as nice I would want for a $35k car ---my favorites for interior were the TL followed by the A4 and 325.. (my critieria being primarily a entry-luxury sports sedan with a manual).
