October peak-a-BOO
Another beach day yesterday, saw a sharp dark red mid 60s Corvette Stingray convertible on the freeway, top down. Saw a rumbly black late model Camaro ZL1 convertible. Also a very clean white w/ no vinyl top '69-70 Grand Prix on the freeway.

Chevy Spark. Starting from $13400. I wonder if any exist at that price, though.

^ mini-PLCs on the Vega H-platform. Automakers went crazy for PLCs of all sizes in the late 70s, these were GM's answer to the Mustang II Ghia.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. Since my work product is in the cloud, and I'm fairly misanthropic, it works well for me. I'm able to focus albeit with taking periodic breaks.

September Spotter
Not on the road, but on tv..while watching the first episode of season 4 of ‘Goliath’, I saw a Lucid Air in a brief scene being used as an Uber Black-style service car in San Francisco.

True that..radical styling and proportion changes in a short span...then park a '63 there, so much change from '53 to '58 to '63... just 10 years between '53 and '63, yet it's like 30 years of styling difference from the tall humpy late 40s-early 50s themes to the squared off lower-longer-wider early 60s... That garage reminds me of a guy a few streets over from me--has a mint early 50s Lincoln and early 60s Lincoln in his garage, and a mid 90s Town Car and recent MKS in his driveway..

I have that same style multi-bulb starburst ceiling lamp to put in my dining room when I eventually remodel.

After 4+ years working from home full time, I don’t know if I could go back to a commute to an office. I’ve only gone into the office at my current job twice. The drive—about 35 miles each way—was tiring, though I took the scenic way home through the National park and enjoyed that.

Will Competition Destroy Tesla?
The front of the early Model S'es kind of looked Jagwaaarish to me...I like the older front more than the blank fronts they have today.

^ Reminds me of when I lived in Denver in the 00s, I worked at a company that moved its office to a suburban office park, and I could see my condo building from my office. Walked to/from work occasionally, but given that I had to cross a 6 lane street and walk on streets w/o sidewalks, it was more practical to drive the 1/2 mile...

Rivian R1T Production Trucks Rolls Off Assembly Line
I like what I see of the Rivian interior...the dash reminds me a bit of recent Volvos which I also like the design of. I like the green interior.

Many of the future of the past concepts look better than the present. The EQS is such a generic looking appliance.

i.e. speaking of Ohio CCW laws, I found out 2 months after it happened earlier this year that my idiot older brother was arrested after carrying a gun with no permit...spent 4 months in a county jail on felony CCW and resisting arrest charges, incl several weeks in a mental hospital.. but the lazy county officials dropped the charges and let him off w/ time served. The idiot is 72 but still a menace to society.

I've never owned a gun, but I would take the training very seriously and spend a lot of time at a gun range if I got one...

Some states don't require any sort of training or permit to conceal carry (Texas), I wouldn't want to be around a bunch of potentially armed yahoos...

There are some movies I wouldn't mind seeing in the theatre, I have an excellent Cinemark w/ the big comfy leather seats nearby, but not interested in sharing an enclosed space with all the unvaxxed walking dead out there. My 75 inch Samsung 4K UHD will suffice.

Toyota News: All New Toyota Tundra 2022 Model Ditches V8 for V6 and Hybrid
4Runner doesn't have a V8 version...but the next LX probably won't have a V8, since the new Land Cruiser (that the US doesn't get but the LX is based on) doesn't have one.. There is also the GX, which I didn't even realize was still being sold, it's based on the Land Cruiser Prado and offers a V8 for now...I'd assume it will get redesigned eventually, the current version dates to 2009. I'd assume the Sequoia will get a redesign with the new Tundra dirty bits incl. the V6 soon..

Toyota News: All New Toyota Tundra 2022 Model Ditches V8 for V6 and Hybrid
I saw a late model Ram 1500 regular cab shortbed 4x4 not too long ago, seemed like a unicorn, didn’t realize they built any like that over the last decade…

Regular cabs have been a dead end for a while..and the D3 seem to only offer them in the low trims, nothing nice.

Fleet/commercial as a percentage of sales of trucks....I wonder how much it is for a typical full size like the Silverado, Ram 1500, F-150... 5% or 10% of sales? And then mostly the work truck/base trims? Not talking about the cab/chassis models. I know I've seen specific commercial-use dealers in places. I know with vans like the Transit, Transit Connect, Express, etc commercial is it probably a high majority percentage of sales.
