  1. Did they make the lettering on the front and dash big enough? The dash is very busy. For off road, I’d assume there would be skid plates to cover delicate parts.
  2. Another beach day. Saw a clean Apple green ‘71 Monte Carlo and a dark gray restomod ‘68 Camaro SS convertible on the way here. On the way home, saw a red/white/blue Rambler American with a hood scoop (can't recall what these were called, 1969 only), a clean white '71-72 Grand Prix w/ no vinyl top, a yellow '55 Thunderbird rolling top down, and a custom salmon-colored '41 Chevy tudor. People getting their oldies out and enjoying them in the great September weather..
  3. I like the E-Tron GT, but if I got a new Audi I'd go for the RS6...
  4. Going to the beach today, got the folding chairs etc loaded in the Jeep. Maybe I need one of these "surf wagons":
  5. Maybe I can eventually come take a culinary tour of Montreal. I’m sure I’d love it.
  6. I'm a pretty cynical guy, don't really worship anything. As far as the take out question...that is a tough one..I love both Indian and Chinese, but also Thai and Vietnamese take out. Hard to beat good Mexican, Korean BBQ, southern American BBQ, or Italian sloppy pasta take out also. Or a good cheeseburger w/ bacon. Or southern style biscuits and gravy w/ country ham. So much to choose from. Lots of choice is good.
  7. I'm surprised there isn't a regulation against such a type of steering wheel. Seems like it would be awkward in any thing other than the slightest turns..

I tend to turn pink then burn. Thus the big floppy hat to protect my bald pate and ample sunscreen. My pasty English genes I guess.
  9. I think the Celistiq is intended to have a car-like form.
  10. There were so many black SUVs in the Phoenix area. I bought one..my Jeep..but I did get the black & cream interior. My Jeep just has the factory window tint, not Arizona tint (it was only in AZ a short time, having come from So Cal). I remember a coworker that had an FJ Cruiser and a Highlander, both black w/ black interiors...
  11. Doesn't like there is any provision for a sunshade either.. yeah, I remember having the dark tint on cars when I lived there.
  12. That terrarium interior would get insanely hot in AZ....and isn't it built there?
  13. @Drew DowdellPhoto uploads aren't working now. I get this message when trying to upload one or more jpg images: Sorry, an unknown server error occurred when uploading this file. Please contact us for assistance.
  14. Went to the office today, saw this clean '71-72 Chevy Cheyenne 10 w/ a 350 and a '65 Mustang coupe on the same block when out for a walk...also saw this neat metal dog sculpture.
  15. I’d like a green one with white & green Colorado plates.
  16. ^sounds like you have many real world use cases where a full size truck with a 6.5 ft bed is worthwhile. An appropriate tool for certain tasks.
  17. Reality is complex. On the subject of DIY and hauling stuff from Home Depot, last week one evening I hauled home from Home Depot a 1 gallon potted shrubbery, 2 5 pound bags of potting mix, 1 40 lb bag of top soil, 1 40 lb bag of mulch, 4 blocks, and 16 small fall flowers to plant in a flower bed. The crazy part? Not in my Jeep, but in my sister’s Chevy Trax. Should have taken a photo.
  18. The Rivian is a luxury off-roader, nothing about the product or marketing says it's a work truck. It hasn't been advertised as a work truck. That's your imagination running wild if you think it is. One trim of the Ford Lightning seems to be marketed as such, though.
  19. Re: the IROC-Z— Gen Xers with money now able to get the car they wanted in high school. I get it. Or it could be a Baby Boomer wanting a car like they had in their 20s or 30s.
  20. They sold maybe 1000 of those? It was interesting, but a flop.
  21. 80s GM transverse engine FWD models are best forgotten. A bunch of boring look alike appliances. Same with the Chrysler K cars and Ford FWD of that era. (The Taurus SHO was interesting, though). I would always take RWD over FWD, that’s just my preference. As far as Audi using race wins to advertise their Quattro models, that’s nothing new. All automakers have used motorsports victories in advertising. Ford has done it. GM has done it.
  22. There are many things.
  23. I wonder how fast my diesel Escort was. It did get 55mpg Highway, though.
  24. Good. My frame of context for late model trucks I’ve driven were hard despair gray plastic inside (2010-ish F150 and 2015ish Chevy Express UHaul van).
  25. One thing to keep in mind, is enthusiast magazines target a specific demographic. There was a group of Americans that loved tiny European sports cars in the 50s-60s. They often were into road racing and raced their cars on weekends.. They read Road & Track. There were the 0-60 drag racing and wrenching crowd that favored big engined Detroit cars..maybe they read Hot Rod. There were the customizers and hot rod crowd that was a big subculture in the 50s-60s. And Motor Trend and other magazines tried to cover a vast range of mainstream consumers. Lots of different sub niches. The American car scene wasn't monolithic then nor is it today.
