  1. GM is only about profits from trucks and SUVs anymore. I suspect within 5 years the Corvette will be the only car left that they build. The rest of their products will be forgettable trucks, CUVs and SUVs. Speaking of the Telluride, last month when I was at the Jeep dealer I noticed they had 4-5 low mileage Tellurides on the lot. Wonder what the story was with that. Traded on GCs or Durangos?
  2. The ‘63 Riviera was GM’s real response to the Thunderbird by being a unique model like the Thunderbird, IMO. The Starfire and GP were based on existing models (88, Catalina). The Starfire and GP were GMs entrants into the sporty full size bucket seat coupe niche, like the Ford Galaxie XL and Mercury S-55. A non-GM competitor to the Thunderbird was the Studebaker Hawk. Chrysler Corp didn’t really have a unique Thunderbirdish PLC until the Cordoba
  3. I remember Subarus being very popular in Colorado, esp. the Outbacks. I do like some of their commercials, esp. those w/ the dogs...the one with the dog where the ad starts w/ a puppy and ends w/ a senior dog is a tear jerker. I think for a 4x4 wagon, though, I'd be more inclined to look at a Volvo Cross Country (V90 CC). I still think it would be cool if there was a modern Jeep Eagle 4x4 wagon based on the Charger/300 platform...
  4. Went to my office yesterday to meet my team after almost 6 months of working remote...it's a 40 min drive, so I won't be going in often, but maybe once a month or so as needed. The office is downtown Cuyahoga Falls along the river, lots of nice restaurants and brewpubs nearby. While walking to lunch, went past the Clifford Mini Auto Museum--going to have to check it out when I have more time. It's an old gas station and garage that's been made into an automobila museum w/ an Oldsmobile focus--saw a yellow '56 2dr ht and a tan '60 4dr sedan in the bays with the roll up doors open (beautiful summer afternoon). Saw a sharp aqua '67 GTO roll by... also saw a yellow early 50s MG TC being driven. Museum: https://cuyahogafallshistory.com/2013/06/cliffords-mini-auto-museum/
  5. Saw two neat black Fords today—a sharp ‘71 Torino 2dr and a 2007ish Saleen Mustang.
  6. ^ Yep...looks like a '65-67 Corvair convertible.
  7. ...towed by a Subaru wagon..
  8. Watched the new 'McCartney 3,2,1' documentary on Hulu last night...interesting doc w/ producer Rick Rubin interviewing Paul McCartney and discussing history of various Beatles (and Wings) songs and how they were crafted.
  9. So sorry to hear, Dave...you and your family have my condolences.
  10. Reminds me, saw a clean black '86-87 Monte Carlo SS yesterday.
  11. I like the Shelby in that blue w/ white stripes.
  12. Sitting at the edge of a Wal-Mart lot was this Shelby GT500. I like the black with stripe delete color scheme over the usual day glo cartoon colors these seem to come in.
  13. Saw a black Lincoln MKS with the license plate 'GNX'. Since it wasn't a Buick, I assume maybe someone's initials---like Gene Norbert Xavier or something like that.
  14. Yeah, and I realize now I'd already posted in it. Sometimes threads are hard to find when you want them. Been a crazy couple of weeks.
  15. Came out of the ophthalmologist office and saw 4 black SUVs in a row (my Jeep was the only one there when I went in). The TrailBlazer on my right was in good shape. Later at a light saw this faded '65 Riviera and a bright red/white '57 Chevy Bel Air Sports Sedan.
  16. ...aaannd I realize now it is actually July.
  17. Ohio is behind... the rural (red) counties are really lagging behind the more urbanized counties...some only 24%-35% vaccinated. My county of Cuyahoga (2nd largest in state) is only at 48% fully vaccinated.. https://data.news-leader.com/covid-19-vaccine-tracker/ohio/cuyahoga-county/39035/
  18. Jeep drivers tend to park by other Jeep drivers. Came out of the doctors office to find a newer GC Laredo parked next to my GC Limited…
  19. Sweet GTO. I've seen that C-53...it sat for years at an airstrip in Beach City, Ohio down in Stark County. It's now in PA. https://www.vintagewingsinc.comhttps://www.vintagewingsinc.com
  20. Looks like an MGA. A buddy in high school drove his Dad’s one occasionally. Was dark green w/ wire wheels IIRC.
  21. There are places in S America that could be interesting...my sister has been looking into Costa Rica as a retirement destination.
  22. I'd love to visit New Zealand...not sure about Australia--too much dry desert land. I've had enough desert for a lifetime, I think. I've been to England several times, but really want to explore Cornwall.
  23. I am not looking forward to cleaning out my family house/farm eventually....since my Mom died in 2016 my idiot older brother has remained living there, sooner or later he will die (poor health) or go to jail for a long time and my sister and I will be left cleaning up the place to sell...
  24. I like this shirt...
  25. Saw a minty dark red w/ dark red top 1990-ish Cadillac Fleetwood (the stretched downsized C-body w/ fender skirts) with a couple that looked to be in their 80s... Saw a guy about 75 or so loading groceries in a bright yellow C8 w/ chrome wheels at the grocery.
