Future Collectibles
For current SUVs, I can see the Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk, Durango SRT 392 and Durango SRT Hellcat being collectible...

I guess that movie wouldn’t have been the same if they had been driving a current LeBaron convertible.

The later RVs my family had looked like these--a '78 Southwind, 28 ft w/ a 440 V8, had it for about 4 years then replaced by an '85 Winnebago Chieftain 33 ft w/ a 454. They kept that one 10 years until they retired from RVing.

I kinda like it also...I like 240Zs more like these, though... Neat...I did a lot of camping at Ohio and Pa lakes, state parks, etc as a kid in my folks' '73 Dodge Sportsman Mobile Traveler 21 ft Class C RV...even took cross country summer trips to Arizona in it. .They had it from about 1975 to 1981, then got a 28 ft Southwind Class A RV. The Mobile Traveler looked like this one below.

Length and wheelbase look similar, the new one looks taller--mostly wheel/tire size, I'd assume..though the nose looks taller.

Pollen seems to have been worse this Spring than in recent years...oak tree pollen all over everything....beautiful, unusually warm sunny weather. But the pollen is killing me.

May 2021 Auto Spotting Channel
Took a break and a walk around the block and saw an unbadged RHD M-B Metris postal van. Didn’t realize the USPS was using them.

I wonder how much the battery pack in Hummer weighs...
-
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
True, but the 2500HD is a true work truck for hauling stuff. The Hummer EV is just a pricy toy. And imagine the poor schlub in the Chevy Spark they run into... wouldn't stand a chance.

Pedantic much? I wouldn't consider any of those sedans as they have frameless door glass. Now an '80s Mustang LX notchback, that was a 2dr sedan as it did have upper door frames and a fixed b-pillar.

Don't think I'd classify the Grand National or GNX as a 'performance sedan'...more of a performance coupe or muscle car. Remember, the Regal it was based on was a personal luxury coupe. Anyway, it was one of the fastest cars of the 80s and a unique last hurrah for RWD Buick performance cars..

That's insane...3000lbs of battery?

In another time and place, I coulda been a Buick man. Some beautiful beastly 70s Big Buicks.. ..and some sweet '80s Buicks.

Yes, long run. Similarly for Buick and their Road Wheels, around well into the 80s. And Olds with the SS II (?).

Googling turns up pics of ‘80 & 81 GPs with those wheels, not sure if they were available on other Pontiac’s then. The Rally IIs made a comeback in the early 80s, seen many ‘81-87 vintage GPs with them.

Got the August issue of Collectible Automobile in the mail today, was reading an article about the ‘78-80 Grand Prix, and came up this photo—caption says for 1979, the Rally IV wheel option replaced the Rally II wheel option. First I’ve ever heard of or seen these wheels…

Spotted these two Vipers at a gas station this morning, then saw two more on the street as I was leaving..both black, one an ACR with a monster rear wing. Later at the car wash saw a dark red F150 with the license plate ‘IMDEAD’.

Anyone here affected by the gas shortage in the SE and East Coast areas? Lots of drama, sounds like...people hoarding gas, filling up plastic bags with gas, etc...
