  1. Interior still sucks and its what needed the most work.
  2. But its ok. He purchases credits from a green company that offsets the energy he consumes. Of course he also OWNS that very company so its not as if he's getting nothing out of it.
  3. http://www.tennesseepolicy.org/main/articl...?article_id=367 Al Gore's a hypocrit. /thread
  4. You know...I don't like it. It may just be these pictures, but somehow the sedan looks better in the front.
  5. Thats what I'm waiting for. Not sure I'd be interested in a measely 140hp when I can get more in a Cobalt SS or Mazda3 S.
  6. I swear you MUST be some kind of forum bot attached to an auto industry database.
  7. bowtie_dude replied to loki's topic in Buick
3.6L V6 standard on all trims except Super. DI 3.6L V6 standard on Super. 6-spd auto on all models. (Duh!)
  8. Email him and watch him try to explain away his 50,000 sq-ft TN home that uses $3,000 in utility bills a month.
  9. Profitability is good, even if its less than expected and not in the billions. This just means that whatever GM is doing is turning around their financial situation.
  10. As opposed to consumers seeing a lopsided number in Toyota's favor and thinking its correct? Sure, GM stuffed the balot box. But I swear, these days GM doesn't hold a candle to the arrogance of Toyota's PR people.
  11. Why does alpha need to be slotted in a lux brand? I'm fine with a small alpha in Pontiac around $20k. In fact, thats what I f@#king want.
  12. When it says "fell to No. 2 behind BMW among vehicle makers," its putting the ranking in the context of ONLY automakers and not with every company on the planet.
  13. The Econolines are scary as hell to drive. I know, I've been driving a 2003 and 2004 model for the past year at my work. The 04 must have gotten a bunch of upgrades though because it is MUCH better than the 03's, though still bouncy and rocky.
  14. Agreed. Just give me an optional 180hp engine and I'll buy one.
  15. Ha! Preproduction indeed. Good eye.
  16. Actually the interior doesn't look all that bad in this shot from Saturn.com's Astra preview.
  17. FOG needs a horse's dose of valium.
  18. To play devil's advocate, I think its more along the lines that people are more willing to forgive Toyota, whose 20-year record is all but perfect, for a few more recalls than they are GM, whose 20-year record is anything but a shining example of how to build a reliable mode of transportation. Not to mention that, while Toyota did recall more vehicles worldwide, most of GMs recalls are in North America, whereas most of Toyotas were in Japan.
  19. Oh I definitely agree that an internet poll attached to an article that would likely be read by people who already believed Toyotas are better isn't a very good example of the general perception the consumer has of General Motors. ...Wow, thats a long ass sentence... Anyway, the example I used above of the dependability difference is from the most recent JD Powers Vehicle Dependability Survey. I'm pretty sure that it IS a scientific polling, done by 100 randomly chosen owners of cars they bought 3 years ago. But even without dodgey internet polls, I'd wager that the overall general perception is that Toyota is better than GM.
  20. My problem with the interior isn't the design, its the color pallete. Its all a shade a grey. Hopefully a charcoal-beige two-tone and/or an all-charcoal interior will be offered as well.
  21. The problem with Toyota's hybrids is that they no longer come with a nice tax refund anymore. Chief Editor from Forbes magazine was on the Today Show this morning talking about tax credits and said, "Buy a hybrid car, but not a Toyota or Lexus because they've sold too many and no longer qualify for the tax credit."
  22. From an overall quality and reliability standpoint, Toyota DOES build a better car than GM. HOWEVER, that said, the margin is so small (.5 more problems per car in a Chevrolet than a Toyota) that quality and reliability is a non issue. But, even saying that, GM still has a long way to go, as the poll shows, in changing consumer perception.
  23. I would SO get this in a small-midsize car.
  24. The Accord racked up $8k in total damages with the full front ringing up almost $3500 alone.
  25. Little effect. Worse for the Titan, and maybe Ram, than it is for the F-150 and GMT900s. Luckily for GM, Toyota is facing the same problem in pickups that GM is facing in mainstream cars. A customer base full of unbelievably loyal owners that have never had any major issues with their domestic pickups. Hell most of the owners wouldn't switch to another DOMESTIC brand, much less a "FURRIN" one.
