I agree it is all the oil companies fault prices are so high. But since Bush is (or was) one of them, he wont do anything to curb this gouging.

We have a thread about it somewhere. It was posted earlier today. Or maybe yesterday.

Where are the other countries now?
I dont understand putting a cap on donations. If you're going to offer to match employee donations, then match employee donations, down to the last cent, doesn't matter if its $250k or $2.5mil. Not like it doesn't go down as a charitable donation on the good 'ol IRS forms.

That reminds me of that one South Park, "How the hell is global warming going to cause an ice age?"

Daihatsu exhibits compact SUV and hybrid sports...
I know where a pickup is for sale, its powder blue and had a really tiny bed on it. The last school I dropped out of had a ton of Microvans that they used for maintenance. Wasn't one of the first cars on Pimp My Ride a Microvan?

Yeah, but who is going to replace him? Not Cheney, they are probably going to have to go with a relative unknown, what better way to make a fellow Republican look good to everyone than to bring gas prices down four cents per gallon? You might even see it in the middle of next year if prices are insanely high because Bush doesn't want to lose the huge majority in Congress. A Republican president easing gas prices will help any Republican running for office, pretty much guilt by association for lack of a better term.

Its not an election year, so it probably wont be dug into too deeply.

Isn't that the new RAV4? I want a Daihatsu, one of the old microvans or pickups you occasionally see on college campuses.

Malaysia's Proton Reports Net Loss
$3.3 mil? Thats barely a loss, they just need to play the Lotto more. Tell me when they lose $1.7 billion.

Did you miss the fact that oil companies made like $57 gazillion dollars in profit last year? Yes a disruption in supply should cause a spike, I passed Econ 101, but the prices shouldn't have been that high to begin with.

Well, with an I-5 it is either a Volvo or an Acura. If its an Acura, you get that mileage because Honda works miricles, just like Jesus. If its a Volvo, it gets that kind of mileage because the engineers had to do it so they could drive from the cold weather testing sites to the nearest strip joint that had the good hot Swedish chicks dancing.

I have to admit raz, your first two sentences really put it into perspective. Minimum wag is sitting at $5.15. A lot of the people who make that are high school kids who are trying to afford a car. That wont work when they have to spend an entire paycheck on gas.

One is in England, the other is on his way to Wisconsin. Doesn't matter, I'm actually an adult, which means I can legally drink and watch porn while posting this crap.

rhd saturn HUH!?
I bet it went cheap, since I'm sure it is a huge pain in the ass. Unless the driver was a native of, or spent a lot of time in, one of those countries that drives on the wrong side of the road.

I swear, if you point out all of the grammatical mistakes in the above post, I will, um, do something.

No, I have no problem with really long-winded sentences at all, since they tend to pull the reader into whatever he or she might be reading, as they make the reader not want to stop in mid-sentence because he or she may miss out on a thought that could make the whole thing make sense, which it may not have before because all of the words running together without pause distracted them from receiving the message the author was trying to convey with his or her long-winded sentence that the reader was reading but not fully comprehending. I do however take serious issue with a complete lack of sentences because they come across as being uneducated, what can I say it is just something I've always done, for as long as I can remember I have dealt with people who ise poor grammar and they tend to not know what they are talking about because they spent more time masturbating than they did studying and they dont have a clue how to structure a sentence or how to get a coherent thought out, same goes for the internet, if it is just a bunch of lowercase letters thrown together, it looks sloppy and really appears to have been done by someone who doesn't know about the subject at hand.

That has to be the gearing. It weighs more than the new MX-5 but still less than my car and the engine has all the crap that is supposed to improve mileage, so my best guess would be the gearing.

GM scales back outlook for big SUVs
The 900's are supposed to shoot GM back to the top, profit wise. Wont happen with gas prices going up with no end in sight. The 900's will sell to those who really want/need them but I think a lot of people who get them for the image will find out that they would be much better off in a 5er wagon.

Car Spotting
I delivered to a house Sunday morning that I've been to a few times, this time was different. He had a bunch of people over (I went in to set his seven freaking pizzas in the kitchen, it looked like an accountants convention) and one of them had an Allante that was parked on the grass allong the driveway. Still a pretty nice looking car. There were Volvos, Saabs and Acuras there as well.

An '06 Impala in a parking lot that had a bunch of '04 and older Impys, you can really tell the difference. Blander? Yes, but also worlds classier. Beyond that, just the usual tons of SUVs, some classics and a yellow Viper. Yellow makes cars go faster, ya know.

Autoextremist: The NASCAR Bubble
Before BV gets here and says "This isn't a bash NASCAR thread" I'm going to say that this is a bash NASCAR thread. They turn left. I turn left, and I have to do it across traffic with some soccer mom in her Suburban, not paying attention, coming towards me quickly. And they're all white, I dont think any "sport" can be called that legitimately if it is all white guys

You doing a lot of city driving? I get better than 30 doing almost all in city, stop-and-go driving and a lot of idling. Wait, isn't yours the "second-gen" the updated one? My mom had one and it felt slower and seemed to get worse mileage, they're a bit heavier than the originals.
