  1. How soon will GM bring these engines to NA? Will they at all?
  2. 4gm replied to Chazman's topic in Heritage Marques
What I got from the parts of the thread that I read is that Pontiac will be getting a line of small rwd cars. As long as Pontiac makes all the cars look great with some in your face styling and the powertrains to match and keeps them affordable I think it's a great idea. GM has too many divisions in the upper segements of the market. The affordable, sporty, stylish segment is just waiting to happen and explode and it's something that's perfect for Pontiac. I've said this before but people on a budget want something that looks good and is fun to drive too. Why should that be relegated to the upper segments of the market? And there's no comany, that I can think of at the moment, that caters to that. It would be a good direction for Pontiac. Nobody wants to buy 40K Pontiac anyway.
  3. Isn't that similar to the wheel-hub motors GM talked about for all of 2 seconds a few years ago?
  4. 4gm replied to Flybrian's topic in General Motors
GM wants you to "find your style" with a different manufacturer.
  5. I haven't seen the interior in person so I can't comment on it's quality but I do agree about it being attractive even if it isn't groundbreaking. More importantly, it's not an interior that will drive customers away which is what GM's interiors have been doing for years.
  6. I love the new interior. It just shows you what GM can do with the right leadership. My only gripe is the metal trim in the center console. It's a little too wide. That's pretty minor though. I'd say the SRX and Acadia interiors are GM's first no-excuses efforts in interior design. Hopefully, every new vehicle will have have interiors just as good.
  7. How about "Family Utility Car"? or "FUC" for short.
  8. I think Kirk wants GM's stock price to drop so he can buy more shares. That's why York resigned. They knew stocks would go down if he did. GM will announce an operating profit for the 3rd quarter, the second one in a row, so Kirk will try and make a major stock purchase soon. That's my guess. He'll try and overthrow Rick and the board, which will be ugly, but ultimately unsuccessful.

Except for the c-pillar I think it looks good.
  10. I don't think it looks awful. But it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the concept. It looks about mid pack in the design department for it's segment. I thought it would be watered down but this is ridiculous.
  11. badge engineered = the GM minivans not badge engineered = the epsilon siblings
  12. Ouch. That consumer panel article was pretty brutal. People will stay away from this car in droves based on the styling alone. Move over, Aztek. Here comes the Compass!!
  13. I'm disappointed. I don't think these trucks look bad. They just look unimpressive. And I hate the fact that they're the same trucks from the A pillar backwards. The Silverado would have been a lot better off lifting it entire design from the Avalanche. And the Sierra should have taken that squarish design theme that's all over that front end and applied it towards the rest of the truck.

There's a plug haning out of that Malibu's front end. Plug-in hybrid perhaps?
  15. 4gm replied to GMan's topic in Chevrolet
I'm loving that grill. Everything else looks to be a big improvement over the current Malibu, but then again what wouldn't be?
  16. This is what happens when you replace memorable model names with forgetable alpha numerics. Nobody remembers what kind of cars you sell!
  17. 4gm replied to HarleyEarl's topic in Cadillac
I like it. Then again, I love those Yaris ads that everyone here seems to hate. The monster Hummer ad was cool too.
  18. I think Lucerne sales would get a noticable bump if the front end was redone the right way. It's too flat and one dimensional. The rest of the car is kind of generic but is still has a nice look to it. That bland looking front end is a turnoff for me every time I see it.
  19. If that rendering is 90% accurate, then I 100% wont like the new CTS.
  20. I think they look great in a very mainstream brand kind of way. They'd make great Chevys. I don't think the designs are daring enough to be Pontiacs or Buicks. If, however, Pontiac needed to get some rebadged product in a hurry, the VE would be first on my list.
  21. 4gm replied to Flybrian's topic in Cadillac
The minor exterior revisions look better and the interior is miles ahead of the old one which isn't really saying much. Hopefully, the SRX will pick up some sales.
  22. The exterior is a little plain BUT it's plain design done right. It's very clean, the lines flow well and nothing really seems out of place. Seeing the Acadia reaffirms my initial reaction to the Outlook's design needing to be more daring. It's like Outlook half-assed trying to be daring. Either be daring or don't. The interior is great and I like how the top of the center stack doesn't have the bump that the Outlook has. Good design, inside and out, a 6 speed transmission and a multivalve powertrain. What's not to love?
  23. If this deal doesn't go through, I'll bet Kirk will find some reason to sue GM somewhere down the road.

I don't think "Super"-sizing the Lacrosse is going to help sales at all. The design on that car already looks 10 years old. Send a redesign. Stat!
