On the Brink
Just to add - Gas was $3.20/gal in the St. Louis area in August. It's currently averaging $2.06/gal, and a few places are selling for $1.99/gal. I don't know if these levels will be sustained or not, but if it stays on this side of $3/gal, then I'd expect SUV sales to pick up (no pun intended) a bit. -RBB

Water Pump and timing belt
$425-450 sounds about right - timing belt/water pump on my wife's Prizm was $435 a couple of months ago. -RBB

Citroen C-Matisse Concept
I honestly like the design - I think it's a beautiful car. That said, when I see the front-on view, I can't help but think of this: -RBB

Great new shot of the Acadia and others
So is that the production version of the Enclave? I thought to this point GM had only released shots of the Concept, but then why would they put a concept in with production models? -RBB

New Chevy/Camaro Head?
Just going off the top of my head, at one time I believe GM was considering a 3-valve truck engine - I believe it was due to be debuted in the GMT-900s. But, the decision was made to abandon that design some time ago. Anyone please feel free to correct me if this is inaccurate. -RBB

Value Pricing?
I'm not sure I understand - Toyota is not offering rebates or has been telling dealers that they should inform customers that if they wait x days to buy a car, they'll save $1000? And the employees at the Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and Toyota Motor North America, Inc. will not only be on duty but will be leaving their office locations to help sell cars this weekend? http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/classifieds/aut...ve/15351939.htm -RBB

Sunroofs: your opinions
My current car doesn't have a sunroof, but the two cars I had before that did - well, the power moonroof, anyway. I absolutely loved having them. If you have the means and aren't so tall you can't sit under them (I'm 6'2" and had no problems), I'd say go for it. My cars had 160K and 135K on them when I traded them in and I never once had a problem with leaks on either one. -RBB

2009 VW Iroc Coupe
I went to the Cardinals-Cubs game last night, and was mesmerized by a fan who was sporting one of the most spectacular mullets I've ever seen - it was amazing. The style was tightly cropped on top, the sides, and mostly in the back, but beggining about the ears, the hair began cascading southward in gentle waves - over the collar, past the shoulders, and down to the small of the back, aching to reach the waistline of the finely pressed jorts. It was nothing short of magnificent. -RBB

My CTS Was Shipped!
I average in the mid 20's with my V6/manual combo. I do about 2:1 Highway to city driving, though some highway driving is rush-hour stuff. -RBB

So am I correct in thinking....
E85 returns poorer fuel economy than straight gasolene - 10%-25% lower depending on who you ask. AFM and Hybrid assist could help mitigate that, but you you won't get 40 MPG by wasting perfectly good moonshine as fuel. -RBB
