08' Malibu Crash Test Results
Atleast GM is responding quick these days rather than making excuses and waiting until the car is 1 year near the end of it's production life to make the changes.

2010 Buick LaCrosse Spied, Inside and Out
I think GMs engine choices will be what makes or breaks the car. If they don't do a higher gas mileage 4-cyl or hybird then many Baby-Boomers will just walk away from it without second thought.

So the wife has narrowed her choices down...
They are doing $1000 rebates on the Outlook. Of the three (soon to be four) it's the best deal out there and ALOT nicer than the Edge or Vue for the same price. There is no reason not to consider the Outlook or Acadia.

Helping a friend with new car purchase
We LOVED our Cobalt and had 0 issues with it. More importantly in todays gas prices, we always got 38+ mpg. With the new changes in the 5 speed Cobalt, I don't know of a better deal out there.

2009 Buick Official Changes
As much as I love the reliability of the 3800, the Lucerne really does need something that is smoother and quiter.

I'm tellin ya, why waste the money on either small vehicle when the Outlook / Acadia / Enclave get the same gas mileage.

I love that interior.

Honestly, if you are already willing to get the gas mileage of the Edge and pay the price of the Vue, you might as well step up and get the Outlook. Nicer rig, more money, almost the same gas mileage.

Resale value and dealership experience has me leaning towards the Saturn. Both are nice vehicles, but the Saturn should prove to be the better long term vehicle.

So, smoking
I get a migraine just from being around someone who smells like smoke. They don't even have to be smoking to cause the headache and need to throw up, they just need to smell like it. I know I will piss some of you off, but I think it should be illegal to smoke ANYWHERE in public that someone else might have to smell it. I've gotten migraines from people driving down the road with their windows open while smoking. It's not fair I should suffer because someone else has a bad habit.

Nissan Titan gets Diesel V8 for 2009
Great timing. Now that diesel prices are going through the roof and all three domestic diesels have plummeting resale value. My local dealer tells me that a year ago Duramax diesels sold at book and now some are coming in at of 1/2 book. Though Fords and Dodges were not selling as strong as the Duramax, they are now seeing the same effects in regards to resale value.

65K Hybrid Miles and nothing but Trouble
I don't relate the hybrid stories to the hybrid issues, but to toyotas issues. My brother and his wife had little things fall apart with theirs, like the dash paint coming off.

Just curious?
Out here with all the Hippies in Oregon.

From a Cost-Benefit Standpoint....
It's a tough call between the Cobalt and G6. Both great cars. I would pick the Cobalt based on the better gas mileage & price and the fact that I can't stand red/orange interior lighting at night.

WE CAN'T WAIT TILL NOVEMBER
The main two things we can do to help with our deficit; 1. Encourage and support leaders who will get us out of Iraq and other countries that we are blowing money on 2. Buy American made & owned. Vote in a President that will do major reform to the trade acts we currently have. Yes, you can make a difference.

My HHR and a honda got into it last night
Our family has had bad luck with toyota, nissan and honda. Does that mean that they suck for everyone else?

My HHR and a honda got into it last night
Not well written, but you will get the point. Comparison of buying a used honda vs a used Chevrolet Vehicles found on Autotrader.com Criteria (see ads for vehicles chosen) Under 100k miles, automatic, less than $8000, not more than 10 years old, purchased from car dealer Chevrolet is $1551 cheaper than honda Chevrolet has 36,491 miles less than honda Chevrolet is 6 years newer than the honda If both cars were kept for 60,000 miles and 5 years; honda would cost $838 less in gas than Chevrolet this is still $713 more than the price difference in the cars honda would need timing belt & water pump replaced atleast once at a cost of $900. honda would need 2 tune ups at a cost of $300 each. Chevrolet would need a 100k tune up at a cost of $1000. At the end of the period the; Chevrolet would have 123,191 miles honda would have 159,682 Both brand lines are known to last those amount of miles with little to no troubles. Using KBB fair value home sale, the Malibu would sell for approx $2070 after 5 years Using KBB fair value home sale, the civic would sell for approx $1680 after 5 years Chevrolet’s depreciation is $2829 honda’s depreciation is $4770 The honda would cost $3154 more to own over the 5 year period.

Here is what it comes to. How much money do you have to spend for a car. It doesn't matter what size, or what brand, it comes down to what is available in your pocket book. In my local area (50 mile radius via autotrader.com) you cannot find a honda (even without ABS) with less than 100k for less than $6000. There are multiple GM products available under $6000 that have less than 90,000 miles with ABS, including; Buick Century, Regal, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Cavalier . . . I don't care what anyone tells me, a used Century with 90k and babied by an old man will last ALOT more miles than a 120k mile honda that has been abused by some young kid. Infact, given the same situation, I would still put my money on the Century before the honda. Add in the cost of timing belts, new water pump and the other crap hondas need that GM products don't, and I've saved more moeny than I will ever save on gas by owning the honda. hondas AND toyotas are a waste of money.

The HHR estimate came to less than $500 and the civic has over $4000 in damage.

Well, craigslist completely sucks
Can't expect much from a free service.

Welcome. It's great to see you are teaching your kid automotive mechanics vs handing me money and sending him off.
