June 2013: General Motors Co.
Regal, LaCrosse and Malibu sales probably the most reason for concern there... CTS down, but I think the new car, even at higher prices, will be far from a flop. Malibu is pretty hopeless unless the tweaks work some magic in the eyes of the average car buyer... What will the strategy be for Regal and LaCrosse past their current generations is the big question mark for me...

But doesn't that go against the "GMC owners will not consider anything else" mantra repeated so often in these forums?

Toyota News: Toyota Will Do Whatever It Takes To Keep The Camry On Top
They're trying to go after volume. And if GM / Ford / Chrysler keep somewhat limiting their % of daily-rental fleet sales, Avis etc. of course will look elsewhere. It's really the "we'll do whatever it takes to protect the sales lead" that made me

Buick News: Spying: Buick Belts Out An Anthem*
Won't the Anthem use the new Delta based platform the new Equinox and Terrain will use? I believe it will. Delta and Theta are supposed to merge into a single architecture, while I guess Epsilon and Lambda will merge as well. Also, if Opel/Vauxhall/Holden get this car wearing Opel/Vauxhall/Holden grilles, then the project as a whole makes perfect sense: Chevrolet and GMC achieve volume and optimal production point through their strength in the US; Buick/Opel/Vauxhall/Holden achieve their volume and optimal production by offering a single model that will not overlap with one another given the brands' mostly regional focus. And to be honest I don't believe for a second that whoever likes GMC's boxy styling, especially the way it's been interpreted in the current Terrain, will take a first look (never mind taking a second look) at a Buick...

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: General Motors Cans Cadillac Ultraluxury Sedan
Pretty much: Cadillac's game right now is to build a solid product structure by covering the key bases (core models and variants of those) and if successful, then take the high-end gamble with a fully dedicated model. Platform sharing (Omega), yes, but no commonality in visible parts other than the Cadillac badge. @ dwightlooi - Maybe that's exactly what Omega is? An adaptation of Alpha to larger vehicles?

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: General Motors Cans Cadillac Ultraluxury Sedan
Agreed. China/Australia could perhaps get a Buick Park-Avenue / Holden Caprice built on Omega... For Cadillac, I'd say a large coupe is perhaps the more logical way to go, but... To be honest it seems kind of foggy, unless Omega ends up sharing a lot with Alpha and being a reworked/reinforced Alpha in the sense than it can accommodate 200in-plus cars...

- Cadillac News: Rumorpile: General Motors Cans Cadillac Ultraluxury Sedan
Makes sense. The wording on the other forum made this look like a seriously discounted 7-Series, etc. fighter would be offered, while I think the wording here hints at a proper 7-Series, etc. fighter the same way the 2014 CTS is aimed more precisely against the 5-Series, etc.- Happy Birthday Moltie

So V-Sport is to Cadillac what the M-Package is to BMW... Nice enhancements to offer, and a way to squeeze a few more USD per vehicle...- 2 min Gas Station from Tesla?

- GM News: Buick and Opel Bond To Become Stronger
If it's going to underpin a S-Series fighter for Cadillac it's just too big for an Opel... Anything significantly larger than today's Insignia is probably suicidal for Opel... Opel is going to need to move up to "Buick" level. It can no longer be the "Chevrolet of Europe" now that Chevrolet is there actively making a go at it. I'm not saying that Opel should build an S-Class sized car, but I would expect Omega (platform) to be equally as flexible as the Alpha platform, but with higher starting and ending points for size. If Omega starts at roughly 2014 CTS length, maybe... But then maybe it's best to build it on Alpha which I assume will a lower cost architecture?...- Happy B-Day the_yellow_dart!

Well, I have a take on the previous SRX's failure: GM pushed the USD 50K AWD versions at launch in detriment of the V6, while essentially offering the same interior as a USD 30K CTS... That's why it failed, IMHO... - Cadillac News: Rumorpile: General Motors Cans Cadillac Ultraluxury Sedan
