  1. Both of the Pontiac dealerships near me are charging a $5K markup for the Solstice. Heck, they have a markup on just about everything. Meanwhile our local Saturn dealerships told me that they won't markup the Sky. I am getting tired of these dealers marking up things like this. I do understand about free markets but lets get real. Once of our Pontiac dealers has 3 GTOs and can't move them but insists on keeping the markups and won't sell the cars without them.

I blame my brother for my love of Camaros. The day he asked me to move his '73 for him and then let me drive it while we were at a classic show got me hooked. That was the first time John had ever trusted me with driving one of his classics. He's very protective of them. We now have my wife's 87 IROC-Z, my 95 Z/28, and our 99 Z/28. We have also had another 87 IROC, a 73 project car, an 82 Indy Pace car, and a 90 RS convertible. We are currently looking at a 68. Yep, I am hooked.

Good luck on running things here Brian. That said, I don't think it was truly necessary for Josh to step down. Doing so was a very stand up act though. Thanks for taking responsibility. And good luck bud. As for those who continue to knock him. Get over yourselves. Crap happens and this time a very good guy got taken. I may disagree with opinions of some of the people here (who doesn't) but I have noticed a very high level of integrity from the Admins here. Let's see you get this level of responsibility from CNN or any other major news source when they mess up.
  4. Let me see, if I trade in the wife and kids can I afford it?????

You said it had a stock turbo. It is right there in your post after V8. Oh well, nice Z/28.

I definately prefer a floor shifter. The only 2 vehicles we have with column shifters are our Silverado and the 72 Skylark. And the Skylark will be getting converted to a floor shifter.

If a new Camaro shares a platform with a couple of other cars, then the business case gets so much stronger. But even alone, I can easily be a car to bring potential customers into to the dealerships, especially if it is affordable. The Vette draws a lot of attention from the people I work with but an affordable high performance couple has got some of these Airmen excited.

Ahhh, thanks Lingenfelter. Something else I can drool over but not afford.
  10. Every time I see a new pic I find something else to like about this car.
  11. Amazing, simply amazing. GM has a sure winner on their hands. I hope this makes it into the Cobalt SS very soon.

Build both the Camaro and the Challenger. The rest could disappear as far as I am concerned. Now, although I am a certifiable Camaro nutcase, I do understand that GM has bigger issues to deal with than bringing back the Camaro. That doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done. A shared platform and a busy factory could bring us a couple of excellent cars. Personally, I do hope that some interior work is done on the dash and realistically I expect that to be the case. The gauges and stereo look just designed for a concept and should be reworked with ergonomics and visibility in mind. I see this Camaro as a modern interpretation of a car I have loved for years and not strict retro. OK, that may seem a loopy statement, but hey its my opinion. It brings back the heritiage and could lead to some more beautiful generations for the future.
  13. Beautiful chop. It looks great from over here. Now all I need is to know when I can put down a deposit.

I never stopped believing. Some of my coworkers have thought I was completely insane but now they are drooling over this one as much as I am.
  15. That thing is beautiful. And all the guys out here in the desert with me who looked over my shoulder are drooling over it as well.
  16. Fbodfather, First of all welcome here. And thanks for taking another moment to clear things up on this. Personally, I am just hoping I'll be able to see a few awesome pics from the show while I am still over here in the world's largest sandbox. Sorry I missed you in Seattle in Nov, maybe next year. Take care. Hmm, maybe you can make the All Camaro/Chevy Show next year, lol.
  17. I attends a massive number of shows throughout the year. My favorites are always the All Camaro/Chevy show put on by PNWCC (my club) and Hot August Nights. Anyone up in the Washington State area can always check out the PNWCC events calendar. Listed are not only our shows but a bunch of others. www.pnwcc.com

Those must have been some HEAVY drugs
  19. That's plain incredible. I love it. Beautiful car, awesome power.

Don't tell that to the FBdofather. We had a lonnnnnnggggg discussion on this. He still insists some cars (especially powerful ones) sould be refered as male.
  21. I'm in the Air Force, the uniform normally is a dead give away. You wouldn't believe the things I've heard. Pilot "The UHF radio doesn't work inn the official channel" Me "What official channel?" Pilot (getting upset) "Its there on the selector" Me "Show me" Pilot (pointing) "There!" Me "Ummm, that's 'off'" After I repaired an auxiliary power unit (only works on the ground), I was asked if they should do an inflight check on it. I told them to go ahead (being a smartalec). They wrote it up for not starting inflight.

I definately prefer the rural lifestyle. I get to work on all my cars without anyone bugging me. And my family has room to breathe. We live close enough to Olympia and Tacoma that we can go out and have fun but far enough that their problems don't invade our home.
  23. I'm an aircraft mechanic and I recently went out to fix an engine problem. Got the engine cowlings opened and started pulling the bad part. Pilot sees me and asked... "You the engine mechanic?"

That kind of bait and switch could get you seriously maimed in Seattle. I am a serious carnivore. OK, that's a little to far but I like both red and white meat. To me PETA means people eating tasty animals.

I'll have to get the wife to ship me a copy of that one. They are a couple of months worth of issues behind out here.
