  1. I believe Olds could easily be brought back as a V8 rwd car, modern, a little retro, substantial in presence. It could be sold through all of the dealerships. This name derserves another chance. It's roots are too deep to just let it go.
  2. such good taste, the 2door LeSabre is universal.
  3. What non-exotic cars would get you a date?.....what catches someones eye? Do men think what they drive makes a difference or do potential dates care generally? What if you came to the door on mass transit?....would he/she care?
  4. ...and sometimes, it's whatever is clean at the time.
  5. I think the Pontiac Sunbird was a bigtime chick car. Maybe Saturns have been chick cars?
  6. LMAO!!!!!!Razor, you are quite witty.
  7. It got me thinking, do women gravitate towards certain cars because they like them, or is it an affordibility thing, are they more practical? Like would they care about the chrome on this Buick?.....or whether it has a 6 or an 8?
  8. The Mini is definitely . It's one of my favorites. I would think chicks like them. You know, I think the Toyota Echo is a chick car.....so many young women driving them.
  9. definitely the Golf vert. How about the Mini, is it a chick car?
  10. .......that could be the new catch phrase, instead of 'where's the beef', .........'where's the chrome?"
  11. What would be some current chick cars. Is there such a thing?.....or is it a myth? Here is the ultimate chick car, the '56 Dodge La Femme:
  12. The Korean automakers are storming the gates. One day everyone will wake up and wonder what happened. I foresee them being a significant player.
  13. I am quite observant of materials and it's like I sat in a different brand than some of you. I was absolutely impressed. I like this car. The interior is very nice, very well put together. I give GM and Chevy some credit here. It's a vast improvement of what came before in the Impala.
  14. I mean GM/Olds was the first to offer chrome plated trim. Chrome me baby. I always equate Buick with the little flashes of light bouncing off it's trim.
  15. Another fun thing is: when stopped at a light, lower your window and point at the neighboring car's tire....and shout "YOUR TIRE, YOUR TIRE!!!....they will look horrified, they will sometimes lean out to look or actually get out and look....they will look quizical and then ask what's wrong, and then you say, "it's got air in it".....I know it's lame, but way fun. But you have to time it right so you can make a gettaway...
  16. Does Dolce & Gabbana come in Husky size?
  17. Another facinating first for Olds was this: 'Due to a 1901 fire at the factory, the curved dash was Oldsmobile's only model for 1902. Out of desperation, this caused R. E. Olds to create the supplier/subcontractor system which remains in use today.' for more: http://encyclopedia.classicoldsmobile.com/curveddash.html
  18. Aug. 21, 1897: Ransom Eli Olds of Lansing, Mich., establishes the Olds Motor Vehicle Co.
  19. How do patents work?.....say if GM patented a certain mechanical/electronic device for cars, do other manufacturers continually pay a royalty on that....or is it a one time payment?
  20. Thanks Balthazar, it's really astounding the many firsts Oldsmobile and GM have had. It has been a truly innovative company. I see hints of that again.
  21. Nissan Pulsar for sure. It had a strange option of removing the back roof section and replacing with a different one and making it into a stationwagon.
  22. YES YES YES!.......GM chrome those grilles for Buick.
  23. You may be right, it just straddles the rice fence. Any further and they would be in Riceland. But I still like it, and like that it's Alfa Romeo and that they may be coming back here.
  24. I have seen several Impalas around, but as I was walking on a sidewalk, one came towards me and from a distance, for a split second, I thought, man they sure improved the Accord....then it came closer and realized my mistake. Don't know if this was a good or bad initial observance of this car.
  25. It's hard to really see the rearend in that photo, but I have seen a larger one and it's a very hot looking car. An update was long overdue.
