  1. Pontiac seems to have this 'performance' image and attitude and yet if you look at their lineups throughout time, it would suggest otherwise. I'll bet GM and Pontiac while chatting up this image will not actually have a catalogue of cars that fully backs it up. Look at it now, mediocre rebadged minivans, 4 cyl G6s, 4cyl Torrents(Chevy rebadge), entry level Grand Prixs that are anything but performance and the Vibe/Toyota clone with a slow 4 cyl. I'm not feeling this performance thing. It's a marketing ploy at this point. I don't see the Pursuit as being much different than what's currently going on.
  2. You are probably right. But will they use it?....at least change the very dated 'Monte Carlo' name and transition this car into something special like a rwd coupe.
  3. I say change the name of the Monte Carlo to Chevelle.....instant new image for that car.
  4. I think Pontiac in America would be well served by the Pursuit. It needs this car. Especially now.
  5. I see a lot of elderly people driving minivans. They buy them for the practicality like everyone else...you don't need to be a soccer mom to drive one it seems to me.
  6. HarleyEarl replied to buickguy's topic in Buick
LeSabre is a great name and Buick should have kept it. Lucerne, LaCrosse/Allure are so lame. Regal wasn't much better, it's only that we are used to it. Buick names have become to tame and effeminate.
  7. Cadillac offers a nice variety of bikes, check them out: http://www.cadillacbikestore.com/all-cadillacs.htm
  8. Subaru sales up 8% in August. http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2005/09/01/141910.html
  9. ...hey thanks for the conversion..I've edited it.
  10. Paulino, you need to get this new technology for your backseat romps.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=107110 BMW is offering a new option for the 5-series. An armored version called the Security.
  13. The Ferrari that Steve McQueen drove in the movie, 'The Thomas Crown Affair', just sold at auction for 2,220,000 pounds or in American dollars, $4,089,459.67. A new world record. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/59617/mc...ction_high.html
  14. Now that's a big one. There is something so appealing about vehicles like this...when you need to carry something in a covered, dry environment, this can't be beat. Well, other than a semi-trailer:).
  15. Lutz was refreshing in his candidness. So good to hear a GM excutive speak this way.
  16. .....sorry, if I repeated this.
  17. The '69 Thunderbird Saturn II concept car. I wonder if GM had to pay Ford for the use of that name?
  18. The '54 Dodge Granada concept. I wonder if Ford had to pay Dodge for the use of that name?
  19. The thing is, Suzuki is now badging some Daewoo cars now as Suzukis.
  20. What concept is this?
  21. Thanks Balthazar for the Panther....I completely forgot about that car. The Covini, 6 wheels notwithstanding, is really a very good looking car....it's so hard to adjust one's mind to the front wheels like that, it overshadows the rest of the car which is pretty well done.

  23. Even worse the Datsun B210, just the most homely car ever.
  24. According to the article it's a serious engineering development. It does not appear to be just for the novelty of it. These have been tried in racing. They have superior traction for cornering and braking.
