  1. I've seen a few HHRs and you are right, they look much smaller in person.
  2. I don't get what the problem is...it looks perfectly good and fits my screen perfectly...what's the issue with it?
  3. Today I saw a 1928 Ford driving around, looking like it just came from the factory....something so appealing about the basic goodness of that car...uncomplicated. He was driving very spirited, having a great time. Saw a Subaru Outback driven by a 65-70 yearold woman, all the windows down, and the stereo full blast, playing some hiphoppy stuff...I honestly had to chuckle out loud...it defied all the stereotypes.
  4. This was a great Firebird concept, the '78 Type K, not to be confused with K-cars.

turbo200, you mentioned 'mysterious'....that is something that has been missing for so long in GM and many car makers....it's an intangible thing, but one know's it when one see's it. The Velite has that extra something. And this is Buick's concept!!!! I just want to shake Buick management..wake up!...beautiful, sexy cars is what Buick has been about for many of it's years with a hint of mystery here and there. Stop meeting the competition where they are....become authentic Buick...customers will come in healthy numbers. If Buick built the Velite and followed up with cars with that design sensibility, Buick would again be back to being authentically Buick.
  6. It was the same for me, the '69 wasn't my favorite. I think it was that black rubber insert around the front grill. Slightly offputting. But in a darker color would make that disappear a bit.

Chevy currently sells a cleaned up version of the Avalanche and it's very nicely done. It is a more effective comparison.
  8. My dream sleeper car would be a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon with a Corvette engine and beef up the suspension. I would keep it completely stock outside, even keep whitewalls on it and catch the unsuspected at the stoplight. Would be so much fun to see the faces of those cocky guys in their hot coupes as I scream down the road with them in my rearview mirror.
  9. Totally, Blu....it facinates me what some of these guys come up with. Just love it. 1964 Studebaker Skyview: 1956 Chevrolet Impala:

I don't like all the cutlines of these retractables.

Buick not only needs a convertible, it need's to inject Velite style into all it's vehicles. It is simply one of the most beautiful concepts of all time.
  12. While I love V8 Firebirds the best, like the 400 with 325 hp, this car was introduced with a very interesting 6 cyl engine as well. It was very unusual for Detroit at the time. It was an overhead cam and had an industry first: belt-drive instead of chain. It made it a very quiet and mellow sounding car. It was rated at 215 hp and because of the less weight at the front reportedly was a very nice handling and responsive car.
  13. I wish Buick had made that grill in chrome.
  14. I'm liking the redwalls:
  15. Nick, the '67 is my favorite as well. Pontiac got that signature front end just perfect. It is my favorite front of any car anytime.
  16. I'm crazy about any carmakers ideas for possible manufacture or just as a design study. Some are wonderful and some are downright wacky. American Motors in the 60s: AMX concept: AMC Cavalier concept: American Motors design proposals, probably from the 70s/early 80s:
  17. They are slowly backing away from fleet sales?...it doesn't seem like it. Almost every new LaCrosse I see on the street seems to have a rental company sticker on it.
  18. Another of my favorite GM cars from the past:
  19. Speaking of that, is the first issue of Motor Trend Classic out?...
  20. Trust Balthazar to get this one. I didn't think anyone had ever heard of this. I don't know a lot of details, but I understand that Fitch was a race car driver and was asked by GM to work on the Firebird.
  21. That's it, Sixty8 and all this time I thought it was a 'LaSalle'......I have always like those shifters....it has a real nice feel when holding it....squeeze to release....very natural feel to it. The early Montes still look good after all these years...timeless style.
  22. I don't know what you are talking about....
  23. Welcome.
