Simple Pleasures
What I'm finding more and more is there is an almost hidden world of just pure simple enjoyment in life. And I don't mean in an austere, Quaker ideal...just stopping for a moment and enjoy the given moment. And not always looking for the big, flashy experience. You are right, time is quite fleeting. Enjoy today, the now.

Fantastic look back. Thanks for that. Really enjoy vintage police cars, taxis, fire and medical vehicles.. Yikes, your police look quite Germanic...almost SS.

I've never owned a swb sc pickup and have always wanted one. Maybe it's time. Look at this iconic all American pickup. Such great proportions. Luv it.

I saw a absolutely beautiful new singlecab shortbox GMC pickup in black yesterday and thought of yours. Yours is shortbox right? Could you post photos of it? I have always liked that look. It can both be modern and retro all at the same time.

Simple Pleasures
In a chaotic world sometimes gone mad, do you ever have those moments of just simple contentment? This morning, had breakfast in bed, it's quiet except for some roots type music, softly playing on CKUA.com online, laptop on my lap. Brand new sheets and pillows, got more premium, so worth it. I highly recommend treating yourselves to simple things like this. I think I'm actually sleeping better. Nothing planned today.. Ahhh...I'm feeling everything is going to be ok. Another sip of coffee...mmm. pure contentment...

Here's a restored LeMans patrol car. It's great that people show respect even for an everyday car like this and preserve it.

I wonder if many new wheels are getting too over the top big......starting to harken back to chuckwagon days.- 1975
So true! There is a parallel here. Blu you always see beyond.- Word Association
hehe...oh Blu you are so sly wrestle- Police Cars
People are sooo mean to the Pacer. I never saw it as ugly. In it's day, it was innovative. A small company trying something new. You meanies.- WHEELS

Exactly. In a way I guess it's a homage to Cadillac. They could have waited 'till '77 when they rebadged it a Lincoln Versailles and then said 'What looks like the newest Lincoln....' Which it actually did.- Word Association
disco inferno- Volkswagen Overtakes Ford
http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080829.003/vo...rgest-automaker Volkswagen Overtakes Ford as World's Third Largest Automaker Next up: GM August 29, 2008 2:00 PM by Clinton Deacon Filed Under: Corporate/Financial Ford Volkswagen Volkswagen has a long term plan to become the world's largest automaker and it appears stage one has been completed after the German company overtook Ford to take third place in global vehicle sales rankings. The VW Group announced that they had sold 3.31 million vehicles in the first six months of 2008 representing an increase of 7.2 percent, it puts them healthily ahead of the their American counterparts who sold 3.22 million vehicles during the same period. “We are delighted that the Volkswagen Group has made it to the global automobile industry’s top three for the first time. This shows that we are on the right track with our ever-stronger international presence and, above all, our product program. We will systematically push ahead with our growth course even in the present difficult market environment,” Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, commented. Volkswagen will likely have their sights set on their next target – General Motors. The American giants who until recently had held the number 1 spot announced earlier that they had sold 4.54 million vehicles up to the end of June this year, a drop of 3% compared to the previous year. Toyota's strong position at the top of the table continues with a 2.2% increase to bring total sales to 4.8 million. Source: VW- Police Cars
