Well, one thing that could be done is you could always listen for when the gas is filling up, believe me, you can hear when fuel is getting ready to fly up the spout and out onto ya.

I still say drop the AWD off the SS Silverado, and dump in the 8.1L just for laughs and giggles.

I'd have to say that if something happened to my Impala, there'd be no hard feelings. Now if something happened to my truck....different story all together. The truck IS family. I mean, I'm the third generation driver of the thing, so I couldn't get rid of it, the only way I'd even remotely get rid of it is if I wrecked it against something unmoveable (ie stationary object FAR larger than me, or an 18-wheeler) and there was frame damage. Otherwise, she'd get fixed and put back on the road. The Impala to me, although yes, its a good car, is a daily driver/beater. The Cobalt (wife's) is nice, but its leased so when that's up, we'll probably be buying her something along the lines of a "typical" mommy mobile. So no, the answer is NO, I can't give up on cars, can I let them go if something happens, sure, but can I just up and give up on them? No, never.

Yeah, Vacuum motor should be located down on the front chunk.

Idle soleniod, or Idle Air Control Valve could cause it to stall out some when cranking, since it acts like a choke during initial start-up to help the engine warm up, and you can normally clean them out with some carb cleaner, just like you would clean out an EGR valve.

It would require you to mess with the wiring going to the neutral safety switch, which would also allow you to crank the vehicle while in gear, not a smart move at all, also riding around with the parking brake on, even ever so slightly will still wear stuff out, so that's not advisable either, best bet, if you wanna watch a movie, park the damn thing.

Vacuum actuator, most parts stores sell them for about 50.00, so they're not all that expensive to replace, but I would go for the couple hundred dollar, cable conversion and not worry about it.

Normally when the airbag light is on, it means that the system has been deactivated, just like when the ABS light comes on, it just means that the computer system on the vehicle has turned the airbag off because it see's a problem, which could be a blown fuse, or something more. You should be able to check the fuse panel and see if its that, but considering that the light went out on its own, it is/was a loose wire.

Sounds like a problem with the Throttle Position Sensor, but if it was, you'd normally get a "check engine" light.

All right, I guess I could put my two cents into this one. I'm 23 years old, my parents raised me to respect my elders, family members, and those that earn the respect that I give them. I've been to the Wall several times, its a very moving experience. I say go to it. Now when it comes time for my little girl to arrive, I will beat her butt when it needs it, and raise her the same way I was raised. I got my ass whooped whenever the need be, when I got older, I got things taken away from me (namely because my ass started to hurt my parents' hands). I'm pretty well rounded out as far as discipline. The kids in my church listen to me, and they all know that I will whip someone's ass if it comes to it. I don't believe in the "time out" method of parenting, I haven't seen it work, I've only seen it backfire, so its not going to happen on my watch. Although this is my two cents.

there are honestly two ways of doing it, one is buying a kit that allows you to convert from drums to discs. the ohter way is either go up a few years, or find a "sister" car to your cuda that had discs and change them.

Unfortantely, you should be worried because if the tie rod ends or any of the major suspension components decide they no longer like you, it could lead to a wreck, same goes for a CV axle, if it lets go, then you could easily have the wheel just up and fall off. The sway bar links, if it is that, aren't really a worry, just a nusiance.

sounds like it could be a wheel bearing problem, I know I'm probably coming in on this one a day late and a dollar short, but check that and the suspension and drivetrain components right there at the wheel and look for obvious things, like cracked or ripped boots, grease leaking out, or get the car up in the air and check for excessive free-play.

The reason they won't fit is because the rotor on the Caprice wagon is larger (heavy duty brake system) as compared to the Caprice sedan. The pads are probably the same, but the rotors won't be. You're going to have to spend some money on this one and buy a set of rotors.

Sable wagon, could be CV axles, all the above mentioned front suspension parts (ball joints, tie rod ends, ect) or it could be the sway bar links.

Yeah, that's one of the high-lift, long duration cams that you're talking about North, it has such a large profile that the engine "lopes" along like its going to die because there's such a huge distange between when the intake valve opens and when the exhaust valve opens.

Answer to the first question, I honestly don't know. To the second question, yes there are VHS to DVD burners, and you could probably go by a video production place (not sure what to actually call the place, but we've got one here that will allow you to convert your old VHS stuff to DVD, but I have no clue about price). But the answer is yes, and I'm not sure about renting one, but you possibly could.
