melding of designs?
I'm not sure that a combination ohv and ohc engine would be a necessarily good idea, think of how many timing chain/belts you'd have to run, plus how many tensioners, guides, ect. However some of the other ideas do seem really interesting and plausible.

DI Northstar or new DOHC V8 engine?
How about we forget the DOHC engines and go back to the good, reliable long-standing engines, the 305, 350, and 454, with even bigger 502, and 572 for the V-series cars? (by the way I'm partially kidding and partially not, I'm tired of OHC vehicles)

Has anyone made a flat 4 before?
That's confuzzling there....someone remind my WHY you'd want a "W" configured engine anyway? Why don't we just strap a Rolls Royce Merlin inverted V12 in there and call it a day?

AFM 3.9 in 2007 impala
I have the same question as Pao, if you've got the same three cylinders deactivating every single time, that's going to put more stress on the remaining operating valve train. Another thing is why did they chose to kill 1, 3, and 5 when the firing order starts with cylinder 1....? It just seems odd to me.

Detailing cars a good job?
It can be a pretty fair job, but you have to enjoy doing all the manual labor involved with it (which I do, which is why my car always is hand washed, hand detailed, and hand waxed at least two coats)... if you can dig all that, then you can.

How Long Before
Y'all will probably be pissed at me right now, but gas down here is around 2.65 a gallon.

Your Mom is car spotting!
A Prowler, a damn-near mint '57 Belair for $4500.00 OBO, 70 SS396 Chevelle, 78 Firebird Trans Am, same red Solstice I always see, lots of new Tahoes, Suburbans, and Yukons, nothing else anymore spectacular.

Totalled Lucernes
All right....I'm glad I drive my Impala AROUND things that are trying to hit me (as in every damn one else on the road) and haven't creased it yet. And my truck, welll.....its steel, lots and lots of it and if I hit something it WILL be harmed, no ifs ands or butts about it.

Mexico Threatens Suits Over Guard Patrols
Awww screw it. For five miles past the US border (on the US side), we place "Bouncing Betty" anti-personnel mines at two foot intervals. Just past that we place motion activated General Electric T134 7.62-mm Gatling guns, and after that, we put the border patrol and national guard armed with Browning M82A5 .50-caliber "anti-materiel" sniper rifles. And then we dredge the Rio Grand to six hundred feet deep and about four miles across, and run 500,000-volts through the water just for good measure. And anyone suspected of being illegal can be asked by anyone anywhere to provide sufficient proof that they are here with permission and if they are unable to within ten minutes, they can be shot and killed on sight. Ahh, I feel much better now since saying anything like that around my wife normally gets me dirty looks.

Porsche 911 Destroyed... for no good reason!
My aunt has a Porsche 928 (I think), and part of me wouldn't mind having it. I think that it would be at least a little fun car to run around in and get a little bit of a kick out of.

TheCarConnection Drives Chevy’s Camaro
I nearly had an orgasm looking at that up close picture that you posted. That car is beautiful in so many different ways. If Amy didn't have a bun in the oven, I would seriously convince "us" to get one (hence from now on, US means HER).

Bob Lutz says 100,000 Camaros.
I would buy one! And my wife, and my dad, and my father-in-law, and my brother in law, and everyone else in my family and extended family. I could see 100,000 units in the first couple of years, I'm not too sure about the third or fourth year simply because by then the Mustang will be seeing a new body too, so I dunno if people would flock to it simply because it would be the "new" kid on the block or not.

Those cars look horrible. I find that amazing that the cars got totalled that badly. Sheesh, but it doesn't surprise me that people can kill cars so easily.

Fatherhood
Thanks everyone, and for some reason I wasn't nervous at all. I thought that I would be, but I wasn't when she told me. Its actually kinda funny, it took her five of the take-home pregnancy tests to finally realize that she was.....I guess it was just something that she had to repeatedly test and make sure about.... Anyways, I'll do my best to post about the news and things that happen...

Fatherhood
Thanks a ton, she's only about a month and a week along, but it was still nice for her to learn about it right here around mother's day.

E85
From what I've seen parts wise, like y'all have said, you get stainless lines and reinforced plastic lines, and if memory serves correct, the fuel pump itself is different internally, otherwise you wouldn't know the difference between an E85 capable vehicle and a regular gasoline vehicle unless you got ahold of the paperwork.

Saw my first 2007 Suburban today...
Actually, the Tahoe is a shorter-wheel base Suburban....since the Tahoe came out WELL after the Suburban. And the Tahoe is really nothing more than an iteration of the venerable K5 (which really should have stayed around).

...
Exactly, the Silverado and Sierra trucks have kept the best styling in my mind, everyone else has gone to the bigger-is-better look for trucks and now its starting to look goofy....btw Croc, don't remind me about the side saddle tank deal...I like my 76 and I see no reason to move the tank inside the frame, espeically since I've reinforced the body through those areas.

Fatherhood
Just wanted to let everyone know that as of Friday, the better half informed me that I'm going to be a dad. I know it might not seem like all that huge of news to y'all, but it is to me.
