Dodge's All-New Avenger Concept
I think it looks pretty hot overall, except I like the hump in the concept drawing is better than how it actually turned out. The rear deck needs to be longer. Dodge sure has injected some venom into the midsize segment. Although, I'm not so sure about the name "Avenger CRD." We all know what has happened with TRD (TuRD), I can just forsee CRuD being thrown around.

- The Smoking Crowd - at work or school
I always got pissed at the smokers at my old job in the meatpacking plant. We would be working like crazy trying to get 8,000 lbs of patties out that day, and they would rotate every couple hours to go smoke, putting the rest of us farther behind and screwing up the system we had going. Some of them would take six breaks a day, sometimes up to 15 minutes each...that's a lot of time they're getting paid for when they're not doing jack squat besides taking a couple drags out on the fire escape. Also, at the hospital back home, I would do meat deliveries down to the kitchen and right by the dock was a little covered bus stop type shelter. It never failed...everytime I backed in past it, there were at least 5 doctors/nurses in there smoking. One time a few years ago we cleaned up the hospital grounds for some thing through our church, and I and a couple others had to clean out that shelter....there was tar everywhere. The hospital this summer finally banned all smoking on the grounds after people began complaining. I've just never seen the appeal of smoking. Maybe it's because I grew up at school with them pounding it into us that smoking is bad, but I'd say at least 90% of the people I know that are my age don't smoke. It probably helps that neither of my parents smoked either, but my dad chewed tobacco for the longest time and it royally f'ed up his teeth. He finally quit about 5 years ago and has never looked back.- Adventures of Capriceman
Nope, Grand Marquis used to have that emblem back in the 80s. It was similar to the Lincoln logo but had "leaves" on it.- Adventures of Capriceman

Here's some of my SA pics...I love the Caddy Fleetwood...nothing brings a smile to my face like taking a 4000+ lb yacht into a nice powerslide. My custom Cutlass sedan God damn Firestone tires... It's the 1970s all over again Pimp daddy in his Mercury Airborne '81 Fiesta- California suing GM, Ford, Toyota, three others
The problem is not Detroit, it's 60+ years of development like this with little regard for public transportation and smart growth. If California wants to grow like this, then it needs to take responsibility for it rather than try to lay the blame on automakers who are just in the business of selling cars and trucks. Nobody is forcing Californians to buy full-size trucks and SUVs.- California suing GM, Ford, Toyota, three others
Is this for real? http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=aZ4gr6yG.qto- Standard Taxi...new taxi vehicle
...I hope to god NOT. Who cares if it's functional...it's absoutely horrendous. It looks straight out of Eastern Europe with the sophistication of a kid's plastic toy car. Can you imagine the streets of New York clogged with these things? It's powered by a GM 4.3L V6 and is RWD. http://www.standardtaxi.com/- Adventures of Capriceman
It does, but these aren't patches...they use a program called San Andreas Mod Installer that replaces the default models with user-created ones. All three GTA's have this ability.- Adventures of Capriceman

Man, there's awkward cut lines everywhere, especially when you look at the rear with the huge cut right down through the bumper. It's like a mis-mash cobbling of pieces. I'm not really that impressed with the interior either...it kinda looks like something Dodge would do, minus the curves. The concept looked much cleaner.- Big Pimpin'

Everytime I see the radio / HVAC knobs or whatever those are, they just scream Playskool. The more pictures I see of this interior, the less impressed I am each time. Exterior is trying too hard to be macho.- Saudis
Even if there's a billion more years worth of oil left, we need to keep investing in new technology such as fuel cells. Also, if the Saudis happen to discover vast new oil fields, that doesn't mean that the US is in the clear. China and India are growing like gangbusters, and the Middle East isn't exactly happy with America right now. There may come a day when we finally piss off the Arabs to the point where they give America the big 'ol finger and start letting China have first dibs, while we sit here with our tar sands and dwindling reserves. I know they found more down in the Gulf, but it's still just speculation as to how much is there. And besides, even if there is a lot of oil down in the Gulf, does anyone honestly think that Big Oil is going to cut the average American any slack? They're reaping the profits...they know that adding more capacity will lower their profit margins. But drop a little tidbit in the news that there's 15 billion more barrels or whatever it was down in the Gulf and watch the big SUV sales rise again while continuing to spew propaganda that E85 and hydrogen aren't worth the effort. All the Exxon's of the world need something to knock them down to size...get us some hydrogen and alternative-fuel vehicles so we can show them that we're tired of the monopoly they have over this continent.- Labor Day (month?) Sightings
I saw the strangest car today and I'm still trying to figure out what it was. It is definitely something from the late 50s, but it had sort of a European front end with big tailfins on the rear. It looked American in proportion, but the front end was very European (kinda Jaguarish). I didn't get a very good look at it since it was turning a corner, but it had a thick B pillar with sort of a bubble rear glass area and thinner C pillar. The exhaust note was very American. I was thinking it's maybe something from one of those by-gone nameplates like Hudson, but I have no idea.- Big Pimpin'
Cadillac Escalade power wheels I had one of these things when I was little, except it was a Jeep Wrangler. I didn't know these things were RWD...the kid has some trouble navigating the grass. Watch toward the end...the kid rams it into a mailbox. I can just imagine the Sierra Club fuming right now... LOL, here's another...this is the like the Wrangler I used to have, except it was red.
