Not at all. It looks like a decent car, actually. My preference is with the coupe, but I would take the sedan too if it came in at that price point.

Either they are bunk or the EPA tests changed significantly over the course of three years.

Congratulations, SS! I am feeling the aches of college tuition myself. It will cost me just as much to go to art college and study transportation design as it will cost you to go to law school. Like you, I have many applications to fill out.

I agree with you that quality lacks in many places with the GMT-325/330/335 vehicles, I will not deny that for a second. But do not get reliability confused with quality. These vehicles are reliable as anything you could ask for, especially the GMT-325 trucks. At least that has been what I have experienced with the three separate examples that have been in my or my family's possession. We also used to have a 1997 Jimmy, quite a few moons ago. Again, it was much of the same that you encounter with their truck counterparts: it would creak, squeak, and moan like a broken-down three-dollar hooker (actually, come to think of it, the rattles and quakes were worse in the GMT-330s than in the GMT-325s) and various trim pieces were cheap and inexcusable, but the only thing that really went wrong with it, and actually refused to stay fixed, had been the water pump, of which it went through three different ones. But it never left us stranded on the side of the road and it was a willing and capable vehicle in the winter. Anyhow, I had a thought: The soon-to-be-abundant 2.0L Ecotec Turbo might be an interesting engine to have in a compact truck, and not in an SS/Denali version, either.

I am aware of that limitation concerning the perceptions of the Pontiac brand. But the G8 does offer a BMW-quality driving dynamics for Dodge Charger SXT money. If you want a BMW for the driving dynamics alone, and not for the badge and the electronic "frou frou," then a G8 offers a cheaper alternative. That was my point. Agreed.

1. I am fond of South Carolina. I like the area in and around Charleston quite a bit. I also like some areas along the coast of New England as well. 2. I want to experience a week of Alaska at some point in my lifetime.

The old GMT-325 pickups are in very high demand. They have proven to be reliable trucks with tested and proven powertrains. People who purchase one know they are getting a vehicle that is every bit as a reliable as their Japanese counterparts. Like I have said many times, quality is not up to snuff in places, but they are comfortable, livable trucks. And I rest assured when I say many owners of a GMT-325 will not trade their example in for a GMT-355 truck. They are a step backwards from what they have replaced. I was lucky to have gotten my truck for a rather cheap $2700. Although some niggling problems have cropped up since I purchased it (broken driver's side door spring, sticking driver's side door lock, driver's side door seal leaking, back-lighting around the headlight switch refuses to stay fixed and lit, A/C system loosing charge), it is really a solid and clean truck. I do plan on keeping it for quite some time, even after I make a new car purchase. Even if I did decide to sell it, I could actually make up to $2500 back from it, especially if I worked the bugs out of it.

There isn't one. That is the very reason why I have to put up with it. What I am trying to say is that, given the absurd price liability costs, you should get marginally better coverage over what it offers, at best.

I am reading a novel currently by an author named Joe Hill, titled Heart-Shaped Box. It is a pretty good book, and his writing is just as good (if not better in places, actually; although I cannot exactly put my finger on how) as what his father writes (and he is an author I believe many of you here are familiar with). Previously to that, I purchased a collection of his short stories and I wound up not leaving one story unread. Check out some of his stuff sometime.

And that is liability I assume, BV? Liability is a joke. It might make some sense to use such coverage on a beaten-up and worn-out work truck, but not for a vehicle that spends most of its life on the highway and in populated areas.

I had gotten bored, and I have been trying to put PS 7.0 to use ... and now I am a little stumped as to finding a good tag line. Suggestions anyone?
