What is your next car purchase? revisited...
WMJ: I love they way you think. [typing "Tatra for sale in USA" into google] 1967-68 main-line Cadillacs always remind me of Russian Ice Breaker ships... talk about presence.

Wake up call
Attention: As of tomorrow you do not have a job here anymore, P.S. Merry Christmas. Tip of the Iceberg is RIGHT!

Can anyone identify what this trailer was used for?
You'd think the transportation of nuclear arms would be the job of Pete 379s or Kenworth W900s... not some lowly Mack.

Car Air Fresheners
Vanillaroma is the best... followed by Pine! XP: I too collect the damn things till it gets silly. When I sold my 5-speed Blazer it had like a dozen vanillaroma ones, a few pine & couple strawberry all hanging from the rear view.

Booster rockets for the Space Shuttle. sure that was a serious answer...

5 things you didn't know: GM
Wow... god stuff.

Cheap, RWD set of wheels
Thanx for posting this DF, yes, it would be a great step up from the RoadmOnster... It looks quite clean, but the high miles are enough to make the $900 price not quite a bargain. Still I have bought higher mile cars, never say never. 05-Nox: I doubt 30with 178K miles, but when new if driven VERY gingerly I suppose it's possible with the 4.3 V6. Still, it might average 20 or better if driven mostly highway under 80mph... that's not bad at all for a true BOF boat.

Decades before "Infiniti" existed...
Another awesome ad from the Duesenberg Bros.

What is your next car purchase? revisited...
Congrats on the MINI. Top three possibilities for our next purchase: 1.) replace Roadmonster with 1960s hardtop, esp. a Pontiac, Cadillac or Oldsmobile. (Julie keeps the MB 500SEC) 2.) replace Roadmonster w/ KdF, & I mean a REAL air-cooled 1960s example, glass headlight covers, mini rear window... (Julie keeps the MB 500SEC) 3.) buy BMW/Mercedes station wagon for Julie, I take the MB 500SEC for myself.

GM asks Congress to kickstart its heart with ambitious plan
Harley, How can you say that? You always SEEMED like a true GM fan in the past. Now that you put it like that, GM should get $50 Billion. (not kidding!)

GM asks Congress to kickstart its heart with ambitious plan
Long live Pontiac. NAU KAN I HAS 100% RWD LINEUP!? (although I was expecting Pontiac to get the Opel Connection) If those retarded, bribe-taking limousine-riding fu+*puppets in DC actually READ it.

Decades before "Infiniti" existed...
Indeed. And that is a text-book definition of "truth in advertising"

Required reading for Congress
Great read. Thanks for posting that Camino.

A Proper Case Against GM
Let me attempt to answer that. He probably drives a Corolla, his third one in twelve years. (this time he felt real bold & saucy and talked the wife into letting him get a red-metallic "S", a real sport-sedan, esp. s compared to the base model in beige he traded in.)

A Proper Case Against GM
In most cases, Toyota included, that would be ZERO, as in $0.0000. My manager at Bill deLuca Chevy gave me a printout of the breakdown in donations from all the car brands sold in the USA, the Big Three were very generous, even "German owned" Chrysler, but almost all Jap. automakers gave us (our country, the USA) a shrug of the shoulders. I photocopied the list and took about 50 copies and spread them around over the course of a few days. Friends & co-workers and such. I also placed one under every single windshield wiper of a Toyota at the local Toyota dealership. Maybe, just maybe, at least ONE person read it and "saw the light"...

It's NOT a Porsche
True. In fact Hitler banned his officers from driving Tatras after this was discovered to be the case... The high ranking officers (SS & Gestapo) loved to show-boat in fast cars and Tatras were essentially the first "ultimate driving machines" at a time when BMW was still rebadging the British Austin Seven. I guess if the all-mighty Porsche 911 had existed in 1939 it would have certainly killed a bunch of over-zealous German officers too. Plenty of Idiots kill themselves while driving plenty of fast/exotic cars. Some retard is busy wrapping a brand new Corvette Z06 around a tree or telephone pole RIGHT NOW.

Chrysler plan to Congress
Seems reasonable to me. Nothing seems to point to delusional or outright stupid. Foolishly optimistic?, maybe a few select parts.

Look what I found.
Uneven, natrual breasts-esess I can deal with, that "ridden-hard & put away wet" face is what makes me want to hurl. I loathe that loosy-goosy carpet-bagger.

What is your next car purchase? revisited...
If the Wrangler 4dr was available with the now defunct but decades-old tried-n-tested, venerable inline-6 it would be my favorite 4x4 on the market today. I remember drawing 4-door fixed roof Wranglers with CJ styling back in high school study hall back in like 1993/1994, always KNEW there'd be a market.

GM Looking to sell Pontiac????
I'll finish that thought: [ ...we just MIGHT get the epically awesome, 100% RWD, enthusiast-centric Pontiac lineup GM refused to give us! ]

Unique find
Wow... fantastic, looks a lot better here than in the crappy photos in the craigslist ad XP just mentioned. I'd rock that as my daily whip in a heartbeat!

It's NOT a Porsche
Yes Virginia, the Czechoslovakians invented the Automotive tailfin in the 1930s.

Decades before "Infiniti" existed...
Nissan lunched the Infiniti brand in the late 1980s with commercials on TV & ads in magazines that did not show any images of their car. No photograph or artwork of their product was used to tell you what the vehicles actually looked like. This was not as unique, innovative as many think. There was a luxury car of the highest caliber sold at one point with ads in magazines that showed a man lounging around in a "study" the size of a small auditorium, his fireplace the size of a garage door... The copy simply read: "He drives a __________" And while I'm sure that a male chauvinist pig or two certainly bought one of these cars, there was also a similar ad that depicted a woman instructing her landscaper of his duties in a opulent, almost royal looking garden sceene. The copy read: "She drives a _________" Tell us what __blank__ is, brand/manufacturer is enough.

Was I wong to laugh?
Agreed Harley. It's not a coincidence Pontiac's sales were shooting up like a rocket in the early 1960s.
