Style isn't terrible... Looks like a miniature Maxima in front. Reminds me of a Kia Spectra in the back. Looks better than the Civic.

So the exterior reskin is... Taillights. The interior looks all-new, at least according to my memory. But it also looks like a bite off of Nissan.

I get what you're saying, but are they really all that different from a typical crossover?

I can think of a few scenarios where this key would fail, basically revolving around "How does the key know who is going to drive the car?" What if the drunken vehicle owner passes the key to a sober person (as mentioned above) to breathe into the thing. Granted there are serious moral issues raised there (This guy is drunk; do I really want to be responsible for the consequences of his hazardous driving?). What if the drunken driver wants someone else to drive the car home once he realizes he's still drunk? Does the car remain in lockdown? And if it does, what if you're sober and some drunken a--hole wants to screw you out of getting home by breathing into the thing while you're not paying attention? Will the car then remain in lockdown despite your sobriety?

The headlight shape, while not conventional, actually works pretty well in that photo.

I've seen both. In fact, I've seen a current-gen 7-series limo recently. It did strike me as odd, though. Plus, let's not forget the appeal of such vehicles as the LS460L, where the rear passenger compartment is extended in the factory for additional luxury appointments.

Indeed, if Toyota is delaying the Corolla for US release because of design, then they're probably going to try something more radical than what's in this thread. If that's the case, I'm honestly quite scared. Scared that the Corolla is going to dominate the compact market? No, I already know that's inevitable because of the public's perception of the Toyota badge. I'm more frightened that the replacement design will be gruesomely ugly. I have a feeling whatever they do, I'm gong to prefer the car pictured in this thread.

I do find it kinda funny that Reg posted this car a second time. Anyway, my least favorite part about the Civic is its profile, so I don't like the Acura version much better.

A. Knowing Fly, he'd just as quickly criticize a GM vehicle if it suffered those qualities. B. Fanboys? I'm not sure if you realize this is a GM fan site. Why, we even have this and this in our emoticon arsenal. But putting that aside, it sounds to me like you have some ANTI-GM bias judging by your response. I'm sure a lot of the people with those similar posts actually did have those problems with a GM car. Just like Flybrian actually had these problems with Corolla rentals. Do you need to jump on him so hard? You sound angry. Take a short break, pick up some model Corvettes, and smash them into the ground a few times. That should get your aggression out a bit...

That lower intake is straight from the concept G6. This car just needs the concept's ruby tail lights and more prominent grille, and it will be as it was meant to be.

Hopefully my next car will have the grace of being garage-kept. The Cobalt has been getting far too filthy, and I don't always have the means to wash it. My wife and I might need a second car in the near, near future, but we would have to get something "pre-owned". In that case, it will probably come down to whatever vehicle is available as long as it's not a truck or a Toyota. When the Smart Buy is up on the Cobalt, we will probably swap it for an HHR, unless the wife gets one before that time. In that case, I will gauge my options when the time comes (I'll be looking at 2010 models at that point).

I think the exterior to this car is great. It stands out from the crowd without resorting to ugliness. The interior is overall nicely done, but I have a few specific comments about it (see? CONSTRUCTIVE criticism): 1. The plastic on the radio faceplate doesn't match the plastic on the immediate U-shaped surrounding piece, as reflected (almost literally) in the photo above. It would look better if those two pieces matched material/texture. 2. Honestly, the center console should extend down a bit more to include the HVAC controls in order to A. Save money on color-keyed knobs, and B. improve the look on Tan/Black interiors. The tan controls look nasty in that photo. 3. While we're on the HVAC controls, I feel that GM needs to standardize control locations. Compared to the Cobalt, the temperature and fan-direction knobs are reversed, yet everything else matches. May as well match the entire layout, so that people won't be confused going from car to car (since this is the entry model, I vote it "Most Likely to be Your Loaner Vehicle In The Event That Your Car Needs to Be in the Shop for Longer Than a Day", and therefore, this discrepancy is more important than it would be with other models). 4. Not putting the steering wheel controls on the wheel spokes seems like an afterthought to me, but since even a lot of luxury companies set their buttons up the same way, I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Well... It's shiny. Nice interior for its price segment, and interesting double-glovebox setup on the passenger side. If the nav screen makes it to the states, then it won't be long before every single car on the road has the option. Nothing else is worth mentioning.

I saw a few in passing... Unlike various Japense offerings, the Aspen does not horribly offend me when I see it.

Altima: It's about time you fixed your taillights (close enough...), now go back to the old grille.
