  1. The year was nineteen-dickety-two! We had to say "dickety" back then because the Kaiser stole our word for "twenty"...
  2. Is this different from traction control?
  3. Hmm... Even the Cobalt has a DIC, sans compass. On a display contained within the Tachometer, I can get: - Outside temp - Odometer reading - Two separate trip odometers - Average Speed - Average Fuel Economy - Oil Life - Coolant Temp - I think one more thing I'm forgetting about. The Deville will likely have all this and more.

Oh yeah, that guy. Absolutely everything.
  5. Yay

Maybe it's just me, but I'd never hope for "bloody" rain.

Looks good stretched. The Chrysler 300 is the new Lincoln Town Car when it comes to limos.
  7. Well that's just rubbish.

"You will find happiness with a new love." ...That's all I really have to add to this. I must confess, Satty. I don't get your first paragraph.

You mean like what Nissan tried to do with the Titan?

The grille makes it look really, really, really wide. I don't hate it, but I prefer the Tahoe design.

On the same line as what Reg suggests, there isn't as much enthusiasm for older cars as there is for current and future cars. I dunno... Were the major Auto Shows ever more crowded than they are today?
  12. That sure is a lot of smoke. There must be more tar in that air than in a truckload of cigarettes.
  13. ...But at least with the TV you can watch stuff in the kitchen when your normal TV-watching area is invaded by strange people.

Add me to the list. My wife has been having migraine problems for months now, and this week started a surprise episode of amnesia. Her memory is shot. I figured, worst case scenario, she'll never recall her past memories and will have to learn everything over again. Well just today she's suddenly forgotten everything she's learned since the beginning of the week. There's a lot more going on, but that's the biggest problem to me right now.

In the past seven days I've seen a Maserati Quattroporte and two Bentley Continental GTs. And now there's a guy in my parking lot with a 2007 Toyota Camry. Can't be a day under 50.
  16. ...So this is what it's looking like to me. GM: We are recalling 75,000 cars from the late 90s for a faulty windshield wiper. Media Outlet 1: GM's Crappy Vehicles Spawn Yet Another Recall. Media Outlet 2: GM's Closing of the Quality Gap Still has a Ways to Go. Toyota: Begging your pardon, young sirs and madames, but we are needing to recall a million of our cars because the steering could fail and cause the driver to lose control of their vehicle. aaaantoine: Isn't this reminiscent of what happened to Satty's Solara? (okay, I'm only now saying this, but the thought just dawned on me) Media: "By proactively recalling nearly 1 million cars worldwide, Toyota can burnish its already excellent reputation for customer service" aaaantoine: ... Is everyone else seeing this? I just want to make sure.

I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed to have been involved in that thread.

Interesting that both cars accelerate slower on a rolling (5-60) start. Is this typical?

Aaaah... I never saw the new CSX model, I don't think... Doesn't look bad.
  20. ¿Now why would I want to use those?
  21. aaaantoine replied to titan's post in a topic in Honda
Honda Civic meets BMW 7 Series meets Acura TL. It's not terrible... Well, maybe it is.
  22. I had a sudden thought as I read this post. I can only think of two vehicles that are traditionally rear-engined: 2-seater sport cars, and public busses. When's the last time (if ever) someone built a rear-engined four-door sedan?
  23. aaaantoine replied to bostonspider's post in a topic in SAAB / NEVS
Looks good. I guess GM is throwing out the Saab radios in favor of the simpler black-tie models.
  24. Then again it could be the fault of the previous owner not changing the coolant before we got the car at 115k. The car had various leaks over the course of its next 40-50k miles and finally combusted... externally.I'm not saying screw GM... But my parents could use whatever compensation they may be able to get out of this lawsuit, if it's ruled in the class's favor.
  25. ...You bastard.
