  1. Very cool regarding the mirrors. I think the grille needs to be moved up a little, plus the badge. If I had a scanner, I could do a sketch and then post it. It's what I'm going to go to college for. Let's keep Plymouth cab-forward :AH-HA_wink: .

    In the U.S., aside from potential- they are Italian after all- quality issues, dealers/distance to service, and availability of parts, this automobile is amazing (of the Brera). I'd take one!

  4. Cobalt. It's decent looking, quiet, and pleasant to be in. Plus, it has multilink/strut-type trunk hinges as opposed to goose neck types. Isn't that sad? A thing I consider when buying a car is its trunk hinge system. Hehe. Guess I just see the lack of goose necks to be more sophisticated, and they don't take up trunk space!
  5. Umm, there's a whole size class of difference. G6 to Astra is like Civic to Accord, or Cobalt to Malibu, Sunfire to Grand Am.
  6. Eh, not a fan of the Caliber, but it is definitely growing on me. I'd like a black SXT 5-Speed.

  9. Give us all of the notable powertrains (like the 1.9 CDTi (or whatever it is- the diesel)) and manual transmissions. GM, for the love of God, don't de-content it!!
  10. Yes. As fuel prices rise, smaller, fuel-efficient (and attractive) autos will appeal more and more to Americans. I feel that the current crop of traditonally small economy cars are far too large on the outside. Examples are the new Civic, even the Cobalt (even though its interior seems unusually cramped to me). Bring it here! Just don't dilute the powertrain variety like with the Aura. That was lame.
  11. The Saturn Aura disappoints this fan of Opel styling and features combinations. As much as I love the Aura and GM's "promise" of Saturn being Opel with merely different badges, the truth disappoints me. Why? Although the styling is there, features, engines, and transmissions seem to not be. The Vectra has no OHV engines. The Vectra has available Xenon headlamps, and as far as what has been gleaned, no such option is yet available on the Aura. I want an equivalent. What about the rest of you?
  12. Me too. My idea of a "perfect" Aura would have the 2.4L DOHC VVT ECOTEC 4/2.0L DOHC TUBRO ECOTEC 4 with a 6-sped manual, heated/cooled leather seating, CDC, ESP, Bi-Xenon Headlamps, and other such equipment. Aside from the Audi A4 (whose headlamps I now hate) no automaker offers the combination of features and styling I could really go for. Acura TSX comes close, but it's from Honda.
  13. I love the looks of the Lucerne, and its interior. Haven't been able to drive one (I don't fit the demographic, among other things) but I would take this over the Avalon or Montego. Over the 300? Doubtful. Chrysler is still my brand. Lucernes look great in black, red, and dark blue.

  17. I don't care. It could have done really well, regardless of history. Now, if Toyota mysteriously killed Scion, I don't think the masses would mourn THAT. Chrysler needs some sort of entry-brand that is affordable just as many other companies have. Yo Raven, get that PM yet?
  18. I thought I was the only one that enjoyed having those slender twin-spoked mirrors. Hey Raven, ever notice that when Pontiac face-lifted the Grand Am, it got twin-spoke mirrors? And how long has Porche's 911 had twin spokes?
  19. Oh, I don't feel that any of GM's divisions are pointless either, I was just demonstrating that people don't always consider another view point. I think Olds should still exist, for that matter.
  20. Sorry, but this 19 year old has a full head of hair, and nothing to be worried about downstairs, and I would absolutely purchase a 300C if funding permitted. Know why? Chrysler is my company of choice, the 300 is rockin', and I personally dig its style. Shh... Don't tell anyone, but I also love the Lucerne CXS.
  21. That's right! The LX's aren't even retro in the sense of the Mustang, and the 300/Magnum aren't at all. The PT was introduced when the craze was peaking, and it's an all-around great car, and it doesn't look something old-made-new-again to me like the Mustang. To me, the PT is oddly modern and chic.
  22. I now have 85,000 miles on my Breeze, and it had ~68,958 on it in July of 2005.
  23. Of course GM needs a smaller, premium vehicle. Audi, BMW, Volvo, Acura, and even Volkswagen have them. SAAB by itself will NOT cut it. With the repositioning of Saturn, an Astra made available in the U.S. with CDC, Bi-Xenon lamps, navigation, turbo four engines, and such would make sense. Not to do so will illustrate that GM will never get it "right" with small cars. It's like GM doesn't go far enough with the North American products, and then they wonder why their automobiles aren't doing as well as the foreign makes. GM should benchmark something like the A4 for a car smaller than the A4 and then ponder how Audi would improve it for the next iteration, and then execute.
  24. Why can't GM produce a smaller, profitable car in the U.S.? Hmm? If others can do it, then GM can to. I do seem to remember that the Neon was actually profitable for Chrysler (Check Allpar.com).
  25. OK. This stuff is making a little less sense everytime I read it. The Vectra is an Epsilon car, Vauxhall, Opel, or Chevrolet. It's midsize. And it would make no sense to stretch an aging platform and put new skin over it. Like the Saturn Aura is the Vauxhall/Opel Vectra is (should be?) the Chevrolet Vectra. What is suggested here would be an economic suicide to execute. Too many variations, too many platforms, and differing models.
