just a comment on the ohv(CIB) vs ohc.... quick calculation based on the 4.3L.... a HP equivilent to my mazda's 2.5 ~185hp would be a 2.8Lv6. That would be interesting to see,

the engine is the skyactive....so thats a big plus for this car...

the one way trip is ~95 miles,...so both ways =~190

the lowest i've gotten with my mazda 6 is ~29...in winter with ~291 miles on the tank and 190 of those is the trip from my hometown to MT vernon IL... which sometimes i can get ~43mpg one way in nice weather.

What do you mean? gm has a 1.8L, toyota has one, nissan has one, VW has one,.....others?

what's everyone think about the mazda 5? think they'll kill it or actually update it with the skyactive tech?

i'm kinda curious why the 1.8L engine size seems so prevalent....? not like a lot of 2.7L v6s or 3.6 v8s......

it would have been awesome to have this, to simplify, and universalize phone into car...stuff. most everything works just fine in my mazda 6... bluetooth link is alittle slow, but... so, what's about 20-30 seconds?

just thinking about for a little longer, only thing i can think of is something is restricting your flow of cool coolant into/out of the engine.

How hard would it be to check that the thermostat hasn't failed?

The big down payment is something i'm considering. This is assuming things get better with the job and things only improve with the g/f. I agree savings rates might only double in the next few years. Right now i changed my auto pay to round up to the nearest $10, split the payment in 1/2, and doing that every 2 weeks. making just over 1 extra payment a year.

the balance is just under $22k I've looked at the amortization schedule, after 4 years, the interest is quite minimal. I will plan to keep that long as long as it meets my needs.

My next upgrade will probably be an AMD Zen. my first AMD was a Barton/Thoroughbred Core(130nm) to Phenom2(45nm) and Zen is to be 14 or 16nm. it's roughly a 2.9 factor of each upgrade.

still rocking my nexus5 with droid 5.1. only annoying thing is the drop of reception here and there when around wifi (it seems). Straight talk is bumping up high speed data to 5Gb...... so maybe i should just turn wifi off when i'm not near my apartment on my next renewal cycle....?

So I refinanced my 6 recently, from 4% to 2.24%. and from 5 years to 5.5 years. I was paying a little more than required previously to round it off at $500/month. Right now I'm planning to pay $200/2weeks, but the required is ~$360/month. what would you do? pay it off faster.... pay the minimum and bank the savings... something else?

chose not to drive it to get lunch. still rockin 40+mpg since sunday's computer estimate of 44.2 or so.It's sitting at 40.2.

I already have 13K miles on it. This week's MPG estimate in the car is still above 40Mpg. put about 40miles of 'in town driving' on top of 96 miles of highway/interstate. those in town miles are not stop and go typically. The roads i travel to and from work are 30 - 40mph areas and 2 stop light 4 ways, and 1 stop sign 4way. This is only 2 left turns going to work.
