Call me crazy. I bought a spark

Massachusetts proposes taxing by miles driven
this would hurt the poor. because budgeting long term is harder to plan for. i agree the fuel tax should be a % instead of a flat rate, but that's where inflation will hurt the poor AGAIN. the bad thing is, milage out side of the state is still charged to you. so this, at face value has 1 huge drawback. ...it's like income tax and sales tax... living in that state you get dinged 2x. a gas tax is the best way to solve this. and if plug ins get more popular... ding them on their energy bill tax rates.....?

2015 Colorado - Diesel Options Reported
if it does come with the 3.6L option, ...that seems silly.. unless they're keeping the 4.3L for something else? seems silly to make it only for the full size trucks. am i right?

GM News: General Motors Considers Its Powertrain Options For The Full-Size SUVs
smk, the tahoe, subie ->escalade...none of them will use the 4.3L ecotec3, which is rated at.. 24mpg? with a 6-speed in the silvy.... somewhat apples and oranges... trucks vs SUVs a coworker put a dura max in his suburban, has gotten ~22mpg at best he said. but it can tow anything allday and not drop to what his ford box truck gets no matter what. i can see downsizing the 'max somewhat(mid 5L?) and slapping an 8speed to it and the true outdoorsy types would buy up the (limited) supply. think the 2nd gen 2-mode (or the like) will be beefy enough for the 6.2L, or will it just be offered with the' 6.0L like performance' 5.3L from the first gen? an interesting offering would be the 4.3L -2mode combo for the trucks... OH idea, baby 'max and 2 mode. Eco-Max! in anything truck/suv.

I'd wait and see what the next Google Nexus device is like before making a purchase. It should launch in October. Rumours have it pegged for a 1080p display, 13MP camera and LTE. It'd be far more modern than the S3, with fast updates and a better UI. sounds like a reason the S3 should drop in price again....i don't need bleeding edge...

Texas board adopts new social studies curriculum
politics will always have their field days with facts. should political(elected) entities have this power over education? math would be hard to indoctrinate something different and still make sense. language would be too, unless the parents/community only spoke...Klingon(or something else like that) around the child. unless word meanings were misused, which is often done i think.

i'm thinking of getting a real smart phone in november... looking at pay as you go, picking up an S3, parlty because i've used it before.... with a price tag of ~$400. would anyone recommend something else?

Texas board adopts new social studies curriculum
facts are facts, but interpretation is available for anyone. teaching facts is about memorization, while critical thinking must mean that indoctrination must be kicked out the door before that happens. and what is public education but the door open for indoctrination?

Chevrolet News:Hybrid Corvette? GM's President Says 'Don't Laugh'
http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/2011/11/16/can-cars-meet-the-new-54-mpg-cafe-standards-yes-they-can/ “CAFE mpg still comes from the original pair of tests that are now widely viewed as bad predictors of real-world mpg. The 34.1 mpg CAFE target for 2016 is actually equal to only 26 mpg on a window sticker. The talked-about 2025 CAFE standard — usually described as 54.5 mpg — amounts to a figure of 36 mpg combined [highway and city driving] on a window sticker,” writes Dan Edmunds, director of vehicle testing at Edmunds.com, on the company’s detailed CAFE explainer. 36 combined is .... high for the impalas' of the road... but not impossible for the cruzes' of , maybe even in a few years.
