August 2009 Sales: General Motors - 246,479
Just because something negative is said about GM, that doesn't make it unfair. If it weren't for C4C, GM's sales would look even more horrible than they already do. Put any spin you want to on it, but Buick's car sales have tanked. Let's see if the new Lacrosse will change that. Better cars don't always equal higher sales. You should know that, being a fan of Olds.

NOS has a "New" Car...
I was there a few years ago when I got my first car, a Pontiac Grand Am, and wanted to upgrade everything on it. Then I got a Grand Prix, spent a lot of money and time on the engine, just to crack a piston. But then I got a GTO, which doesn't need anything done to it. My suggestion would be to not spend a lot of money on the car, and put that money towards getting the car you really want in the future. You may love the car now, but give it a year or 2, and you will be looking into what you can move up to for your next car.

Saab 9-5 Rear Ended
Based on this article MA has no threshold, so it is up the insurance company to determine if the vehicle can be repaired economically.

Saab 9-5 Rear Ended
I believe they go off a percentage of the retail value, and I think it may also vary by state. If the damage estimate is over 50% of retail value, there's a good chance it will be totalled.

What does GM have to compete with Taurus SHO ?
I thought 9 out of 10 people didn't know what wheels drive their car though?

What does GM have to compete with Taurus SHO ?
Yet you are more likely to see a woman driving a 3, 5, or 7 series than you are to see them driving a DTS.

New Golf (TDI) pricing announced
I think that's the reason VW is still here, not their undoing. As a high cost manufacturer, they can not compete on price, like GM has always tried to do, and failed. They are still the cheapest German brand sold here.

Buick??? Making Car Buying a Tough Decision:BUICK GNX
325hp. They are really pushing the limits now. RWD cars can handle over 600hp. Lets see them try that with a transverse engine.

Crapiest modern car you've driven...
I stopped liking the Grand Prix in 04. My 98 GTP was a decent car for the times, in the late 90s. The competition improved more than the Grand Prix has. It's still built on a platform that should have died in the 90s, with engines that should have gone with it.

I got INTP. It seems mostly accurate.

Crapiest modern car you've driven...
The problem with Epsilon is that they feel smaller inside than they really are. I could never get the seating position quite right in my parents 04 Malibu, or the G6 rental I had a while ago. The brakes are very touchy on both too.

97 Buick LeSabre. The best part about the car was the engine, and it was only a 3.8L.

Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon First Drive
Nope, I agree with you. The only one that semi good looking is the A4 wagon. I still prefer a coupe sedan, or even crossover to a wagon.

Do you like the new LaCrosse/Allure?
I agree, it doesn't impress me at all. Of course it's better than the old one though, what wasn't?

But the experience gained from going through it personally is priceless IMO.

Wiring issue on an 05 GTO?
My warranty expired less than 2 months ago. I've never really kept a car long enough to worry about replacing batteries I guess.

Wiring issue on an 05 GTO?
If I remember correctly, my previous Pontiacs had warning lights for the charging system. It did end up being the battery after all. I think the problem is due to not only the heat in Arizona, but the heat the engine produces under the hood. The hood latch was almost hot enough to burn me when opening the hood. The battery cables were very hot, but there was no corrosion and looked fine. Also, I haven't kept any lights on to test whether they shut off after 10 minutes or not. I'm just wondering if I didn't happen to get the Optima battery, how long would a duralast battery have lasted? The original battery died at 15k miles, the Optima lasted over 50k miles.

Living unencumbered
I'm kind of going through a similar phase in my life. After I bought my house, and shortly after I bought my GTO, I became overwhelmed financially. I just want to go from living above my means, to way below my means. I won't be keeping my GTO much longer, I'll be getting a cheap car with no monthly payments. I'm trying to lower my montly debt as much as possible, not because I don't want to own stuff, it's more like I'm sacrificing now for a better future. I still want to own stuff, but if I don't have the cash to buy it on hand, then it will have to wait until I do. No more taking out loans or using credit to purchase things for me.

Wiring issue on an 05 GTO?
I've had alternators go out on American cars though....
-
Wiring issue on an 05 GTO?
I will check it out today once I get it jumped to get home. I would think there would be a warning light if the alternator wasn't charging though, and I didn't notice any warning lights when I was driving to work.

Wiring issue on an 05 GTO?
Does anyone know if there are any wiring issues on 2005 GTOs? Mine has already had it's second dead battery in 2 years. The first time was with 15,000 miles on the car. I replaced the original battery with a yellow top Optima battery($200) which have been known to last over 10 years, and now 2 years later it is dead again. No electronics were left on, no doors open etc. I just parked at work in the morning, went to leave for lunch, and it just clicks, and the remote unlocking/locking chime is very faint.

Should I or shouldn't I?
I see you have already made up your mind. I don't think you will be disappointed.

SRX reviews in - C&D, Edmunds
I don't like wagons anyway, so I never pushed the issue. She wants a CTS or Corvette, so it's not like she's not into cars, she's just not into wagons.
