RWD Cadillac Flagship Back On Track, Plus Two New Buicks Approved
Yes I do. AWD adds weight, and can also make a car understeer, AND oversteer. Hasn't it been stated here before that the RWD Cayman outhandles the 911, but doesn't out perform it because there isn't a turbo version? F1 cars are RWD, not AWD. Doesn't GM's own, the Corvette, outhandle many AWD cars also? Ferrari outhandles Lamborghini. Shall I go on?

AWD doesn't help cornering, it adds weight, which hurts cornering.

Texting Teen Falls Down Manhole
That's my point. Things like that happen, so no one can say she's an idiot for texting and walking. There still should have been signs or cones or something warning of the open hole. I doubt she would have ever walked into the middle of the street because she was texting, then she would be an idiot.

Texting Teen Falls Down Manhole
I forgot, people on C&G have never tripped, fell, or bumped into anything in their lives before. If nothing was ever mentioned about texting, I doubt many here would have even said anything about it. It's not like she was driving 80 and texting and rear ended someone. She was walking, which many here feel is safe, and wouldn't expect a hole in the ground in front of you. It's not like she was so out of it and walked into traffic on the street. She was on a sidewalk, which she believed to be safe.

Texting Teen Falls Down Manhole
So if she happened to fell in while just talking to her friend, would she not be allowed to talk for a year?

Texting Teen Falls Down Manhole
No one here has ever had a clumsy moment where you were walking and paying attention to something else, or looked behind you, then turned around and there's an object right in front of you? I'm sure it's happened to every one of us at one point in our lives. I've almost done it before, and I am always very aware of my surroundings.

Go for the G8 instead.

Why so many problems witha NEW car
Ok fair point. But if any of these are breaking just during hard driving, and are not due to excessive abuse, then I would still blame GM. In the thread I read about the output shaft breaking, something was said about an output shaft not being hardened correctly. Whether it's true or not I don't know, but GM no longer gets the benefit of the doubt with me.

Why so many problems witha NEW car
Warranty or not, would you want a mechanical failure on your brand new $35,000 car?
-
Why so many problems witha NEW car
So someone should never take a Camaro to a race track, because they might break an output shaft. Would it be ok if a Vette did the same? 400hp Camaros should be built to handle some track time, and therefore, some abuse. I didn't buy my GTO to drive it like im 90 years old and I doubt people buying Camaros are going to drive it like that either. If I wanted a car like that, I would have bought a Buick.

Why so many problems witha NEW car
Broken output shafts in the transmission is nit-picky stuff?
-
Why so many problems witha NEW car
I've had problems with the transmission in my GTO, so I wouldn't completely dismiss any of this as first year problems.

Why so many problems witha NEW car
In other words, it's the owners fault, just like the Camry sludge issues were?

June 09 GM sales
Pontiac is also GM's 2nd best selling brand, and GMC moves to 3rd for this month.

G6 GXP info for a friend
I saw only one since GM started selling them. It is even uglier in person than it is in pictures. Did GM sell this car and Azteks just to have good excuses for when they decided to kill the brand?

NKorea vows nuke attack if provoked by US
I agree, but if we were to invade N Korea, how many millions of S Koreans will die in the process? They have tens of thousands of short-medium range missiles pointed at S Korea. They also seem crazy enough to actually launch a nuke at S Korea or Japan. I think it is all up to China how this gets resolved.
-
NKorea vows nuke attack if provoked by US
The recent nuke test was about as powerful as the ones the US used on Japan in WW2. The previous nuke test was a giant flop though.
-
NKorea vows nuke attack if provoked by US
They can't reach us yet, but in time they will be able to. They also have biological weapons that can be launched at S. Korea or Japan, and an army of 1.1 million. They also sell weapons, missile and nuclear technology to other countries like Iran and Syria. Insane, yes, but not a joke.

G6 GXP info for a friend
I still can't believe GM went ahead with building that car. They could all be crushed, and I don't think anyone would ever care.
-
NKorea vows nuke attack if provoked by US
China is essentially the enabler in all this. They don't want the regime in NK to collapse because millions will be crossing China's border if that happens.

'Revenge of the Fallen' Reviews are coming in..
That's why I never trust movie critic reviews. I loved the movie, and I might go back to see it again, but on an Imax theatre next time.

What a day to have car problems
I know how the weather in MA is, I used to live there for the first 14 years of my life. Just be happy you're not in Texas with 105 degree and 70% humidity weather. Now that's miserable weather.

What a day to have car problems
I don't have any stories about fixing my car in the cold, but... I did change a piston on my Grand Prix in August. It was only about 110 degrees outside.
-
The one car you love(d)?
My GTO. Even though I miss the supercharger whine of my Grand Prix when it was done with the bigger cam and smaller pulley, the GTO is so much more fun. One day I'd like a supercharger or turbo for my GTO.

Financial Times: GM updates core brands
And what would make a young professional choose a Buick, over a Lexus, BMW, Mercedes? Or even a 300 or Charger? Seems like the only younger people considering Buicks are people who already own other GM products.
