Airplanes
There are a LOT of delays. From engineering oversights to using existing 747-8s rather than building new from the ground-up due to tedious, careful, time consuming redux renovations to Boeing mishandling the over-all project. The planes had to be put on stilts, stilts that needed to be calibrated individually each and every time a part of the aircraft had to come off so no additional stress made it to the rest of the body. Flex stress. Boeing also has some major competence problems in handling the project. One smart thing Trump did do on the contract is that any cost overruns would come out of Boeing and not the American tax payer. Boeing also hired a company to do the interior but that company went bankrupt due to Covid's influence on the world's economy so that put a kink on the time-line as well. One thing that bothers me is how Trump thinks he saved US tax payer's money on canceling the order of two new planes by buying 2 already built 747-8s from a deal that never took place due to the fact that those 2 747s were never delivered because the airline went bankrupt. However, the fact that presidential aircraft are highly modified aircraft, using 2 already built planes would require dismantling of those airplanes only to be rebuilt is just wasting unnecessary time and energy gaining no advantage... I for one, like Trump's colour proposal It aint happenin' that way. Biden ditched that colour scheme. Something about the blue on the bottom heating up the fuselage that additional engineering costs need to be made to insulate the sensitive electronics. I dont know... Its a soap opera through and though from Trump's moment canceling Obama's order and shttyng his pants with glee telling us he saved tax payer money, to the press coverage of changing of Air Force One's livery to Boeing's incompetence of delivering the planes on time to Biden's canceling of Tump's colour choice... I dont recall this much circus with George senior getting his 747. Nor do I recall reading anything bad about Kennedy and the now classic livery of Air Force One...

2024 Mustang Could Be the Last New V8 Car you can buy: Comments

But all that is just useless talk. Truth be told. Its a WORLD WIDE THING. Electrics are being pushed by governments WORLD WIDE. NO automaker will be making ICE passed 2030 at the most. NONE of us HAVE a choice. The gasoline engine is gone. No, the gasoline engine wont even be available to be bought used probably after 2040 or something. You dont get it yet? WE DONT HAVE A CHOICE. Going to EVs is NON-NEGIOTABLE. WORLD WIDE DECISIONS But, as @David mentioned. Even though we and the automakers have no choice BUT to be all in EV, the market demand IS strong for EVs. Its just the anti-EV voice is loud and the same BS anti-EV rhetoric gets repeated over and over again and that is ALL we hear.

oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)OK..this is cool that on the TV screen dash, that an option exists so that one could configure it to look like an '80s Fox body speedo and tach and all else. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a41209180/2024-ford-mustang-fox-body-gauge-cluster/ and Fox Body

oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)This being the last of the combustion engined Mustangs, it would only make sense that Ford evolved the platform rather than give us an all new one. Let's be happy they actually spent money on heavily revising it rather than just mildly refreshing it. Knowing that no refreshes at all are on the table over at Dodge and Chevy for their last of the ICE pony cars before they go EV.

Hence the black and white picture. It is from a village on a Greek island. @David mentioned living in thee woods. Im a city slicker so I dont like that lifestyle. However, I could give Greek island village a try. I have done it couple of months at a time when I was younger on vacay. I could eventually return to that kind of life IF it was like how my mom grew up. Which is not. Yeah, her growing up in that kind of poverty did suck and hence why many Greeks came over to North America, but her life had advantages that in 2022 we will NEVER see again. Clean air. Fresh fruit directly on the tree. etc.

I posted that particular pic because of the contrast between the Freedom Tower, the surrounding buildings, the water and the cars. Not the brand of car, but the automobiles themselves. It was a nice picture to share. And like I said, the Freedom Tower on the day that I posted it was on the 12th. German cars have their place, obviously, but German cars are not my style either. Had I lived in Greece, a German car would probably be in my style to own and drive.

2024 Mustang Could Be the Last New V8 Car you can buy: Comments
oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Found this online somewhere I made up my mind. I like this version of Mustang the most but that also means that I like this latest gen Mustang. Track version. I like, really like the rear this way. I aint talking about the rear spoiler, although it does enhance the rear for the better for me. I guess its the additional 2 exhaust pipes that does it. Not too mention the fact that they are bigger which I adore! Dark Horse its called. Cool logo. To get on the Mopar Hellcat/Demon graphic icon bandwagon. Lets all be honest though. No pony car comes close to Firebird's/Trans Am's phoenix. Not the Hellcat. Not the Demon. Not the Dark Horse. Well maybe the Hellcat. And the Cobra I just felt the theme from Rocky would be epic to close out my thoughts...

oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I gotta sit on this look for awhile. I dont know how I feel about it. Its butch. The face is very butch. Butch is usually good for muscle cars. I guess I got used to the more softer approach that Ford done with the Mustang since 2005. I honesty dont know how I feel. I kinda like it? Maybe? I dont like the rear. But I dont know how that makes me feel about it on this final V8 car that is the Mustang. Maybe I also like it? I dont like the TV screen dash, that is for sure. Hate it even. But knowing that the Coyote gets a very big boost in horses and in torques and the way it sounds, I could live with the TV screen dash.

GM News: GM's Future Looks Bright Due to Kilowatts of Power and an Exciting Portfolio!
Ran out? Anyway... Those poor bastards. This is fun of talking about whataboutisms... I got my own... What about the Hellcat that outran the cops but ran out of gas? https://www.motorious.com/articles/news/hellcat-outruns-the-cops/ Not once, but twice... The article above happened in Michigan. The following video clip happened in Houston The baddies were forced to ditch the thirsty Kitty. At least the minors were able to push theirs to an outlet... Maybe instead of whining about it, doncha think its actually time to make the electrical infrastructure ready? What resource is this? Your tele-evangelical way of cryptic talk of being anti-EV aint working. It never did. But you go back at it bruh!

LOL Im not invested in the Royals to give you an answer back. Oh....I do have rebuttals, but I dont give a shyte about them. I aint wasting my time for them. My country wants to make a national holiday to mourn the Queen's death on her burial to which I BEG that we dont have to. (Yeah....Id rather go to work, not sell a single french fry and lose money on that day than be forced to celebrate and mourn a royal.) The government wants all the Provinces to agree to that though. Thank the Lord I happen to live in Quebec and it wont matter if English Canada votes yes to a national mourn/holiday as Quebec doesnt give a shyte about British Royalty. It didnt have to be done better. It just had to be done. And be done quickly. And it was done quickly despite all the possible entities being involved that had their own agendas. And Im happy the Freedom Tower itself and the other WTC buildings didnt have ANY resemblance of remembering or commemorating the fallen Twin Towers like the first proposals. Im glad the Freedom Tower is a big block of pure American Skyscraper looking tall and solid like a big American athlete/boxer with its chest puffed up saying to all that were involved in those terrorist attacks, phoque you, I was down, but know Im up and stronger than before. And Im here to represent Liberty and Freedom that much louder! WTC 2 is yet to be decided upon and obviously built. But there is a skyscraper void in the skyline. I cant wait for it to rise up! The memorial is great that a building(s) built to remind us that twin towers once stood there would keep the skyline as a permanent visual scar and not propel New Yorkers and all Americans to stand proud and strong. Only to always see a scar and continue to weep. The triangular facets are very imposing and the sunlight highlights them when the rays hit them. Just my opinion. BTW, it took a decade plus, as I have read in some sources, before anybody and especially New Yorkers to warm up to the Twin Towers.- Random Thoughts Thread

Questionable father is more of a monarch thing. Failure as a husband that he eventually cheated on his wife would also be a monarchy thing. His then girlfriend Camilla was not princessy like. She didnt exude virgin vibes. Diana was just 19 when they got married. He was 32. Both were forced upon each other for monarchy image reasons. When you analyze it a tad deeper, Diana was just 16 when she met her prince. How phoqued up is that? They got married in 1981. That would be AD. Not BC. I dunno about you, but my non-royal Greek a$$ has higher standards for my daughter than for me to ship her off without an education and I dont care if that person is 'royalty' almost twice her age. As we eventually saw from both, money does not bring happiness. I dont really care for any royalty, much less for the British one, but I dont fault King Charles III for his failed marriage to Diana. I blame the hypocritical institution that is the British monarchy. Not that I care all that much.- Random Thoughts Thread
The Queen is dead. Long live the King! (as they say) Maybe now, with a new monarch, but Im not holding m breath, the Parthenon Marbles will be returned back to Athens where they rightfully belong. If not, phoque him too!!!- Random Thoughts Thread

Not as clear as you say it is. But yeah, the focus from GM and Buick has been China for awhile now. Yes they are. But I am curious to know why you say it like this Because those buyout offers are not as how you insinuate they are... You know, to focus on China. Because those buyouts are for those Buick dealerships that do not want to go forward with the all electric Buick portfolio in the very near future. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/02/gm-offers-to-buy-out-buick-dealers-that-dont-want-to-invest-in-evs.html https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41075272/buick-buyout-dealers-ev-sales/- Beautiful Cars Appreciation Thread
