There is no turning right on red ANYWHERE on the island of Montreal. It is clearly marked at ALL bridges entering the island. And yeah, with the Euro style signage. But the message is in French... Oh well, Montreal is a bilingual city, but it is a French settlement of a city in a French populated province that was settled by the French therefore people visiting here could at least make the small effort in learning a little bit of French. One does have to have a small sympathetic take of Quebec politicians and French folk living outside of bilingual Montreal wanting to stave off the English language juggernaut that will eventually take over the Province of Quebec..quite possibly in the next 50 years... But Quebec highway signage is not so uptight about this whole language thing that it doesnt realize plenty of English speaking 'Mericans visit us occasionally.

Last week's Karen: In her 50s. Orders a trio. 'Upgrades' to a sweet potato french fry. yells so loud so other customers in the place hear her how the restaurant is ripping her off on the account the upgrade is too expensive. doesnt want to pay up for the 'upgrade' over the regular fries. yells at my cashier, as young as she is, 16, that it was her job to advise her there is an upcharge for the upgrade. I had told her between the yelling episodes that the prices are clearly marked on the menu at the front and top of the counter and clearly visible and readable in large bold letters in 2 phoquing languages as soon as you walk in the restaurant. tells me that its not her job to look at the menu. As soon as that gets blurted out I swear at her to get the phoque out of my restaurant. refuses to leave because she says I have no right to kick her out. I had left the kitchen at this point talking to her showing her the menu how clear and legible it is... I had my phone with me at this point, I was dialing 9-1-1 because I knew I was going to do something illegal on my part. I knew I could snatch her purse, and so I did, walked out the door and threw it. More like lobbed it on the side. She yelled that she was going to call the police, asked other customers to call the police, but I showed her my phone screen that 9-1-1 was already dialed. Told her "beat ya to it" and proceeded to tell the 9-1-1 operator my story, including the part that I grabbed her purse and that I tossed it outside because as THE owner I no longer wanted her as a client on the account that she was disruptive and rude and refused to pay and that I had told her to leave, but didnt after multiple times being told to leave. That was a lie, I only told her once to leave... She quickly left the store, hysterical, picking her purse up, and quickly getting into her car to the cheers of the other patrons. I quickly apologized to my other patrons and continued my day. I still had adrenaline of hate, anger and bewilderment until I posted that rant. I now laugh at the sheer stupidity of it all. Including me snatching the purse from her hands...

Disclaimer: I had a Karen enter the restaurant today. Had to kick her out, forcibly. My rant above regarding plant based vegan burgers, although this is how I truly about vegan people and plant based vegan burgers, maybe the rant could have been more on a friendlier tone. I was still fuming about it. Im proud to say, Im not fuming anymore.

Damn right! But.....if one wants to be vegan, then be vegan for phoque's sake. None of this fake meat burgers that are so called plant based but have so much sodium in them to taste like meat. <Dudes and dudettes out there that want to be vegan> especially those that want to be righteous about it... I got a phquing message for you: EAT YOUR VEGGIES and NEVER YOU MIND THE FAKE-NESS OF PLANT BASED MEAT FLAVOURED ANYTHING!!! Im a meat eater through and through. But Im NOT a carnivore. (no human is actually) Im an OMNIVORE!!! I EAT all KINDS of veggebles.... I LOVE all KINDS of veggebles. I dont WANT my vegetables to taste like meat. A little bit of olive oil and lemon juice goes a LONG phoquing way for MY vegetables to taste good. And there is COUNTLESS of OTHER ways that Greek cuisine lends to for vegetarian dishes... LEARN to eat THOSE kinds of veggie cuisines and STOP THE BULLSHYTE OF LYING TO ME THAT YOU ARE A VEGAN/VEGETARIAN THAT WE HAVE SHYTTY CORPORATIONS INVENTING SHYTTY WAYS TO MAKE A SO CALLED PLANT BASED VEGAN BURGER!!! PS: If ANY self righteous vegan moron wants to try me, try me!!! I CAN go on an all vegan diet. I LOVE GREEK CUISINE that is on the vegetarian side. Not a problem for me to do so. But I dont believe in ANY foolish vegan ideology therefore I will continue to be an omnivore...

Premium? 35 US gallons equals to 132.5 liter as per google calculator. Premium in Quebec is 2.15 dollars/liter That would equate to approx 285 Canadian bucks... Holy sheet that is a lot of dough!!! If one in Quebec daily drove that, he would have to fill up every 3rd or 4rth day... That would be approx 7-8 times a month... 2000 dollars/month. 24 000 dollars a year... In a nomal time, that number would be at half that amount. 12 000 CDN dollars per year. yeah...either way, I dont want or need space or a V8 THAT bad.... Its a lot of dough for being 6 feet 6 inches tall...

Absolutlely!!! I trolled many Ford fans over at MT forums about it being stupid, but I was trolling them. I use it in the summer a lot. During baseball and softball practices and games. I dont feel like carrying my keys and wallet with me so I leave those in the car. (The Fusion duh...we will use the Fusion over the Acura in these situations as much as possible. Almost ever time.) Lock it up...but use the keypad to get into the car. The personal items are kept out of site so nobody will break into the car... I will also use it when we go at an amusement park or a waterslide park. Why have a risk of loss at the park (baseball or amusement park), and its high, when a break-in risk is soooooooo much lower in a parking lot park... Its an awesome feature. Maybe when my kids are no longer at the age of us going to such parks my use of it will diminish. But as of now, as still a family man, its almost a need!!!

I mention McDonald's a lot. yeah, I eat there from time to time even though I own a fast food joint of my own. Hey...a Big Mac is a Big Mac and a Quarter Pounder with cheese is a Quarter Pounder with cheese... I will ALWAYS love those even though I can make my own at MY restaurant. Like I said.... a Big Mac is a Big Mac and a Quarter Pounder with cheese is a Quarter Pounder with cheese. I dont drink sodey pops. At my restaurant or at any other restaurant. Ill have a milkshake from time to time but a bottled drink like water or juice is what I have. Not from a fountain for a cup and lid. From a bottle that has a cap. So I could manage without a cupholder. When I leave the restaurant to come home, I wont eat as Im usually coming home to supper with the family. I used to eat a hotdog or two when finished work, but those never lasted long enough to make it to the car. LOL I dont eat hotdogs anymore. (all that much) Ive cut down considerably. I am closing in on 50...

yes, we as so called enthusiasts dont care for mundane shytty things like a frunk. OR a cup holder. Im closing in on being 50 and I still dont give a shyte about a cup holder. Oh....I APPRECIATE a cup holder as many a time it came handy. But I dont drink in my car. I eat from time to time but I dont hang out at the drive throughs all that much. I also had a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in my mid to late 20s when drinking Gatorade was a thing to do, or a Coke from Mickey D's was a must, but I managed then and so I can manage now. But a cup holder DOES have a place in our lives. As does a frunk. When one will use a frunk for the very first time, one will want one. TRUST ME!!! Like Ford's keypad entry system. I had one in the 2007 Edge I bought my wife. We didnt have one a for a short time, but then came the Fusion and now Im thinking, I need one on my next car purchase... NO!!! I dont want to carry my phone with me.... If I didnt mind carrying a phone, I wouldn't mind carrying key. I have found the keypad VERY useful and almost a need. Yeah, Im thinking about a Ford Mach-E for myself for my next purchase. For ME. 1. Its a MUSTANG 2. Its an EV 3. Its GOT a keypad... 4. We ignore the fact that its a CUV because its a MUSTANG. And NOT only in name. It handles like a sports car. Its sporty like a sports car. Its fast like a sports car. But take a look at number 3. Its got that keypad. Plus a frunk that I could use for the restaurant.- Random Thoughts Thread
Concerning Tesla loyalty. Do NOT underestimate the sheeple-ness of Tesla owners. There is a small percentage of them that are curious to to see what the other EV makers are offering and will try to experience them, but the majority will not budge. Kinda like an Apple user. And exactly like an Apple user, most will scoff at what the other OEMs are doing if the other OEMs are NOT doing EVs like Tesla is doing them. These sheeple have embraced the so called outside the box thinking for manufacturing vehicles and embrace Tesla quirks while scoff at OEMs for doing the same thing over the last 100 years. They especially hate GM for whatever reason. Every time I come across a family friend Tesla owner, they dismiss Ford's efforts, Hyyundai/Kia's efforts, Porsche's efforts and especially GM. Not that GM has anything of quality to showcase against Tesla at this point, these family friends will not acknowledge Ultium at all. They laugh at the Bolt all the time. Lyriq and Hummer is as if they dont exist and never will. They will find anything to nit pick the Mach-E and they consider the Taycan/Audi E Tron GT as subpar to anything Tesla. 3-5 years and this will change of course when VW/Porsche, Hyundai/Kia, GM, Ford will have new and fresher EVs on the road as compared to a possible 13-15 year old Model S that will look and feel the same as when it came out in 2012 if Tesla does not give the Model S a 2nd generation. The Model 3 and X would be closing in on 10 years old by that time too... And if no 2nd generation of those wont be offered... The Model Y is newer but it too, will look and feel as if it would be 15 years old. The Model 3 and Y being bread and butter vehicles for Tesla... It will be interesting to see how these Tesla sheeple will react and buy... And it will be interesting to see where Tesla's head chief CEO resides in the Forbes richest man rankings... by then if the idiot doesnt see he needs a 2nd generation of all his offerings...- Random Thoughts Thread
There will be a future V-Series performance version is that part makes sense as to why the engineers forewent a frunk. Exchange and a trade-off back and front storage space between a trunk and a (lack of a) frunk would be an engineering choice for the greater good. As I have stated before. However, a lack of a frunk, even if some of us are discussing it as a no biggie is not exactly correct. Because it is discussed and GM engineers are defending that decision because it is discussed it is a point of contention with many. Ill repeat what I stated before. As an engineering solution, the Lyriq forgoing a frunk might be an excellent engineering choice. yada yada yada engineered that way to leave more trunk space, yada yada yada to have more room up front for a bigger motor for a future V-Series Lyriq. Possibly making the Lyriq a faster CUV than the Mach-E, Tesla Model X and Y. But as a marketing choice, BECAUSE its a point of contention with many...and it IS a point of contention with many, the lack of a frunk might just be a deal breaker. NOT the first time in the automotive world where a mundane issue like this causes a stir and where the buying public actually looks for when buyying a vehicle and possibly make a buying decision on. Cup holders comes to mind...- Random Thoughts Thread

I dont know if this is legit or CGI, but if its legit, the F22 is more awesome than I thought it was. Looks like humans back here on earth could defend ourselves quite all right if ever the First Order decided to invade. Thee F22 could hold its own, if the video is legit and not CGI, and downright an X Wing fighter competitor. In fact, Id rather the Raptor over the X Wing. The X Wing doesnt seem to be able to out maneuver it... The X Wing looks good and all with Poe in the cockpit, but the Raptor could fall out of the sky flat and still actually fly... If its legit and not CGI. Its unbelievable???!!!!- Random Thoughts Thread

@Drew Dowdell Gotcha. There is one no in my response to that. Just a single no to a single statement. To this: Cadillac needs to look farther than just customers coming from XT6/X5/GLE. Cadillac needs to steal customers away from Tesla. Customers from Tesla WILL look at the Lyriq regardless if they are hardcore Tesla fanboys. The curiosity factor always kicks in. And if they bought a Tesla or two or three in their lifetime and were satisfied with Tesla, maybe they are getting tired of that Tesla jellybean look. Superior looks from a Lyriq however will probably wont be enough to steal them away. Superior tech will.... But maybe, just maybe, a lack of a frunk for the Lyriq would be a missed opportunity for Cadillac to steal a customer away from a Tesla customer. Because Tesla tech is still the benchmark. Tesla's tech could still be better than Ultium. We dont know yet just how good Ultium is. And if Ultium just happens to be better than Tesla tech, it wont be by much and maybe a frunk could very well be that deal breaker... I agree that the Lyriq is a very good looking luxury CUV. It gets it done on the outside with its looks and body panels fitting properly. GM hasnt had that problem getting the panels to fit for a loooong time now. But it also gets it done on the inside. But Tesla sheeple dont care for that. Its all about the tech for them and the quirks that Telsa gets right for them. And a frunk is such a "quirk". I am of the opinion that I just arrived to today with this conversation we are having, that folk that have gotten used to a frunk, will probably still want a frunk. True that if you dont know what a frunk does, you wont be missing something that you have never experienced but you have to possibly give them a frunk if they are used to one. Aiming at XT6/X5/GLE customers is truly not setting the bar that high concerning EV sales... If GM wants a big pie, they have to look at what Tesla gets right in this segment. If all is equal between the Lyriq and Tesla products, Tesla sheeple will not be enticed to leave Tesla no matter how good looking and better build quality the Lyriq WILL be. Tesla sheeple dont look at that anyway. They dismiss it. Just as they will dismiss something as mundane as a frunk.- Random Thoughts Thread
That would be you making a big deal out of both @ccap41 and my opinion on the matter. 3-4 posts in and we both came to a conclusion that it really is no big deal BEFORE you and @Drew Dowdell came in being all defensive... Go ahead and read the posts again. And the C8 (Z06) Corvette really does NOT need a frunk. Id be much happier as a Corvette fan if Chevy ditched the frunk AND trunk for a specialized, VERY track focused version of a Z06 to REALLY squash the Porsche 911 GT2 RS in track racing. But hey, lets have a frunk in a Z06 Corvette where the Z06 is about track racing but NOT in Cadillac's FIRST EV CUV... yeah...no biggie regarding marketing issues.....- Random Thoughts Thread
@ccap41 and myself have not made a big deal out of it. However, I dont think its a novelty thing. Its not a deal breaker and it will probably NOT be a deal breaker either for other folk... However, if GM puts frunks in their other CUV offerings, then it ABSOLUTELY becomes a missed opportunity for the Lyriq to NOT have a frunk. Ive never had a frunk in m life. My ex partner had one in his Model S so I have witnessed what a frunk can do. He used the frunk in his Model S as his briefcase storage. That briefcase and other smaller plastic containers contained not so important papers regarding restaurant information and small objects. Instead of throwing that stuff in the backseat or trunk like I do, he opened up the frunk and in went these restaurant papers and equipment handles and chair nuts and bolts etc... I got that shyte in my trunk and then I lug it in and out of my trunk when I need my trunk space for baseball/softball equipment. No big deal as I can cope with it. But a frunk IS useful... no matter how big or small it may be. It can separate mundane things to bee NOT in the way to haul other shyte in the back trunk is alls Im saying. And if Mercedes will not offer a frunk, like Cadillac's slogan 'standard of the world' , Mercedes' "engineered like no other" falls waaaaaaay flat... And THAT is the full octane truth. (I could now be an internet blogger/flogger youtuber because I have an opinion.... and maybe I could now monetize this opinion. Maybe do a tik tok thing or an Onlyfans and show clips of me in my skivvies and possibly become rich and famous and a sex symbol of some sorts)- Random Thoughts Thread
And about that Ford frunk. One could store windshield wiper fluid and some useful roadside tools like a first aid kit and a couple of screwdrivers and a foldable shovel or whatever leaving the back trunk free from storing that. I know I could store my windshield washer fluid and my baseball glove in that Mach E frunk along with maybe a few loose baseballs and softballs. Maybe switch up the balls with me keeping miscellaneous papers that contain notes and reminders for softball or thee restaurant itself... Point being....a frunk IS useful.. Now I know the Lyriq uses a nice storage bin UNDERNEATH the trunk's floor. Still though, it be nice if it had a frunk. This is all @ccap41and myself are saying.... @ccap41 said it CLEARLY its NOT a deal breaker for him for not having a frunk. I, on the other hand, could clearly not give a shyte as its a CUV to begin with and Im NOT a buyer of this vehicle with or without a frunk. However, if this was a sedan, and it wouldnt have a frunk, Id be saying the same thing as I am for it as a CUV.- Random Thoughts Thread
And for God's sake @David There arent many vehicles that will accomodate you bro. You are 6 feet 6 inches tall with a bodybuilder's build.. We have discussed this.... YOU are NOT the metric to go by for interior space... Have you been to Japan? I havent. But Ive read that Japanese apartments are TINY... Are you gonna say Japan sucks because YOU will NOT fit inside some of Tokyo's space efficient apartments? Stop it already with your constant need to prove interior space performance using your metrics as a standard. Its not a good argument from you...- Random Thoughts Thread
Hello? Its a CUV.... CUVs are for hauling family oriented stuff.... Hello? Its a sports car. Its PRIMARY job description is to go fast EVEN as a daily driver. The Corvette offers storage as compared to its competition because it also doubles as a GT car. But even as a GT car, its come to be a personality trait to have storage space, but THAT is the SAME kind of trait that a Corvette SHARES with CUVs and ESPECIALLY EVs. A frunk is EXPECTED... And the Tesla Model X's price range being higher has NOTHING to do with it. Its a CADILLAC wee are talking about. You know STANDARD OF THE WORLD no matter what price range we are talking about. But if you want same price range on a very smaller vehicle. Here it goes. Tesla STILL being the benchmark The Model Y https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/GUID-E47C4A6D-528E-419C-8C57-FD3864644C34.html Cargo Volume Model Y with 5 Seats: Front trunk 4.1 cu ft (117 L) Behind first row, second row seats folded 72.1 cu ft (2041 L) Behind second row, seats not folded 30.2 cu ft (854 L) Maximum total cargo volume with driver and front passenger 76.2 cu ft (2158 L) Maximum total cargo volume with 5 passengers 34.3 cu ft (971 L) Model Y with 7 Seats: Front trunk 4.1 cu ft (117 L) Behind first row, second and third row seats folded 67.9 cu ft (1923 L) Behind second row, third row seats folded 26.6 cu ft (753 L) Behind third row 12.8 cu ft (363 L) Maximum total cargo volume with driver and front passenger 72 cu ft (2040 L) Maximum total cargo volume with 7 passengers 17 cu ft (480 L)- Random Thoughts Thread
How did their engineers find a way to offer both with great space? It is a large 'engine bay'. At this point, even if I said that 2 cu.ft is nonexistent, if the Audi could offer a frunk that size, Cadillac should have done the same. I have realized that people associate EVs with frunks and this is why you and I (and I think @David too) might criticize Cadillac for a missed opportunity with the Lyric. Forget about Silverados and Hummers, they gave the mid-engine Corvette a trunk and frunk when a mid-engined supercar, even as a Corvette, could have forgone a frunk, but they KNEW it would benefit Corvette because people EXPECT storage space in a Corvette. GM missed the part that people ALSO expect frunks in EVs... ESPECIALLY in the market that the Lyriq resides in. yeah......that would be the proper wording. Its not a big deal by ANY means. Just disappointing.- Random Thoughts Thread
At 2.12 and 0.95 cu.ft for the Audi and Jag's frunk respectfully is a non-issue for the Lyriq not having a frunk. Maximizing the back trunk space as what the GM guys are saying for the Lyriq and the reason why they did it that way by-passing the need for a frunk sounds like marketing BS, until you realize that Audi and Jag's frunk space is nonexistent... To which GM's words then kinda make sense as the Lyriq does in fact offer more room back there. Frunk space is kinda expected though, for EVs, so there is that... Tesla Model X for a comparison as Tesla is the benchmark.... https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modelx/en_us/GUID-91E5877F-3CD2-4B3B-B2B8-B5DB4A6C0A05.html Cargo Volume Table 1. 5-Seater Cargo Volumes Area Volume (liters) Volume (cubic ft) Front trunk 183 6.5 Behind first row, second row folded flat 2,410 85.1 Behind second row 1,050 37.1 Maximum total cargo volume with driver and front passenger 2,593 91.6 Maximum total cargo volume with 5 passengers 1,233 43.5 Table 2. 6-Seater Cargo Volumes Area Volume (liters) Volume (cubic ft) Front trunk 183 6.5 Behind first row, second row in max cargo position, third row folded flat 2,431 85.8 Behind second row, third row folded flat 935 33 Behind third row 425 15 Maximum total cargo volume with driver and front passenger 2,614 92.3 Maximum total cargo volume with 6 passengers 608 21.5 Table 3. 7-Seater Cargo Volumes Area Volume (liters) Volume (cubic ft) Front trunk 183 6.5 Behind first row, second row folded flat 2,314 81.7 Behind second row, third row folded flat 957 33.8 Behind third row 425 15 Maximum total cargo volume with driver and front passenger 2,497 88.2 Maximum total cargo volume with 7 passengers 608 21.5 The Lyriq's cargo space is plentiful and it would seem like an engineering choice to favour rear space over the use of a frunk. Is it a sound engineering choice? Possibly yes as the powertrain bits need not be crammed. Is it a sound MARKETING choice? Time will tell as many folk really dont understand engineering choices all to well... Nor do they seem to care. If they want a frunk, they WANT a phoquing frunk...- Random Thoughts Thread
