  1. Are the plans laid out in front of you? How the hell do you know??! Even Gm doesn't know what they are going to do....until it is done. You should know GM better than that.
  2. Reading that makes me feel better about fixing my car....
  3. Hmmm..good point. Most of the cars I've been loking at fall in about the 4-5 grand range... (focus, Neon, Prism, etc..) Maybe a few hundred bucks would be cheaper.... Hoping to by a house in the near future... I thinking the wagon may just have to get some work done....
  4. Hmmm...Going to give it a try.. I live by a few autozones... It's hard to catch that light though....
  5. You have to have faith, my friend. I don' think they will sell everything though....
  6. Let me put this to you plain and simple: If GM can't make money selling cars, then they shouldn't even be in business. It would be like trying to cut through your bull**it for facts. There is nothing wrong with selling your money makers when things are rough. It is not like GM couldn't dip into the next big thing ( like real estate ) I would be a lot less worried about growing the business, they need to worry about saving it. GM needs to get back to making cars again. Period. I'm not blind. I just use common sense......
  7. I forgot to add the type-Napa plugs and wires....
  8. It got plugs and wires about 8k miles or so... As far as the 3rd one- can it want to slow down as well? (instead of speeding up) I noticed as I do a bit of stop and go in traffic (speed up and slow down) with will throw the check engine light on, sometimes it will stay on, other times it won't. A new map sensor improved everything for a while, but things went back down hill pretty fast....so I'm figure its something bigger, like the EGR...
  9. Yep, a Cavalier (run!) A 93 with the 3.1 (great engine) with 135k on it... It suffered though a nasty winter... Though you do make a good point... It seems I've done quite a bit of updating too...map sensor, fuel pump, tires, plugs, wires, trans service, fuel filter to name a few...
  10. As I was reading about the death of the Park Ave, it got me to wonder what to do with my beater. Its been a good car. The engine and trans run strong (really shows on its good days) It just seems to have fuel issues. It has no pickup, idles quite rough, pretty bad milage(which could be fixed) Parts looking to be replaced: Fuel leak-tiny-right between back tires. Looks like a gas tank replacement.... As above, looks like a new EGR.... And a new hose connect to the rad...... She's rusty, but not too bad (bottom of doors, rocker panels, bottom of hatch) 13 midwesterm winters will do that to a car... If I do it, I can get help to cut the labor costs down...and I would be ok with spending 500 bucks or so to make it very road worthy... What do you guys think? I want to keep it, but it is a tough call....
  11. I'm wss just wondering what I should be looking for if my EGR is going... The car lacks pickup, idles rough, and is getting SUV gas milage..... It seems that I'm replacing a good piece of the fuel system...as I have already replaced the MAP sensor, and fuel pump, fuel filter.... Help...please.... 93 Cav, 3.1, 135k....
  12. I'm surprised about the Olds... Not so much about the Shadow. I was quite surprised when I saw one just hit a light post, and it just drove away.....
  13. Agreed. Montes are pretty tough cars too...I see a few take a beating, and just keep going..
  14. When your job requires a lot of driving it does.
  15. I think between 1000-1200 down would make a better deal...
  16. Yep, love that 4.3.... Now I miss my s-10...
  17. Yeah, but Impys can take the abuse...I know a few co-workers who picked up an Impy like that, and neither one has had an issue yet... Usually Cavaliers take the heat too...unless it flips over..
  18. I noticed usually with those cavs (95-05) the motors will last longer than the car itself does... A friend of mine drives an 03 Cavalier, which now has 215,000 miles on it.... THough I wouldn't rag too hard on Kia though, a neighbor down the street from me has 02 Rio with almost 140k on it, and he beats it pretty hard...and has had almost no problems with it...
  19. Ah, Caprices are fun...but I would have to be in one in good shape. Every time I ride in one, the darn thing is on its last leg.. Have to wait until I'm in a one in good shape...
  20. surprises you? I got to ride in a 96 Park Ave....and loved it! I'm not usually into "boats"...but there is something about it I just love... It was loaded, even with a moonroof.... If I could find a 93-98 with lower miles in could shape, I think the wagon would be gone in a second.... Has there been a car just surprised you? (good or bad)
  21. daves87rs replied to a post in a topic in General Motors
Very true.... Lori shouldn't have to say that she is sorry....because I know quite a few at GM feel the same way... I don't think GM will realize that you can't please everyone...so make sure you take care of those that you can....
  22. I'm not on welfare, I'm simply receiving financial assistance from the government.
  23. Hmmm...not to sound like a suck-up, but I would have to say about everyone. I think it's good to learn and have an open mind about stuff...and I have learned quite a bit here.. I also tend to have quite the opinion on stuff....sometimes pro-GM, sometimes not. I just assume people think I'm crazy or something....
