A rough few weeks....
Hmm..wonder if anyone wondered what happened to me? :( Car crashes, job losses, and computers going bye bye....made for an interesting last few weeks.... Starts with a nice little bug that just killed my computer....not sure where it came from- don't hit up the porn sites hard core like that.... :( <_< A few days later, in the same day, both my brother and a good friend of mine are involved in major accidents...as their cars are both hit by big trucks.. (both in Cavaliers?! ) My brother..T-boned hard by a early 90s F-150 with no lights on at night... pieces of the car as much as a 100 ft away...... My good friend...rear ended by a newer Ram..one of her doors fell off after the hit.... Happy news in this- Both walked away with bumps and bruises.... :) And my Buddy at Ford loses his job at the end of this month...found out right before X-mas...... Found out my job is in danger....as possible layoffs are looming (no, I don't work at Ford)....... Two people have hit my wife's car (once with me in it)-but both were love taps.. no damage at all... Still things to be thankful for, but rough none the less..... (Ok, done ranting now.... :P ) Oh, an did I say I was back? :P

Saving the Pontiac GTO
Nope-that is too much hashing together for me... Plus I do not think that platform could handle what a real GTO could/should be...

Hmm..let's hope not. :( But when you have a lack of money....

GM delays TrailBlazer, Envoy re-do
Agreed. Like I said in my other posts..the trend is dying...not the TB. They might lose a few sales..but it won't fall off if they wait a bit longer... this is not the Cavalier we are talking about here... The need to worry about those new smaller SUVs...and the updating of the car line... They really don't need the EXT anymore either....

Official 2007 Camry Pics & Details
To be honest, I need to see in a person before I make any final judgements.Quite a few cars look really bad in picture, but much better in person... It doesn't look bad...interior looks good. When looking at it, it reminds me more of a Lexus.....

Yep, the Impy has that going for it....

0% APR in Lue of Rebates
Yep, if you want. :) It is not so much the gas prices that will be the cause, as the trend itself is on it way out. As I'm sure that there are people who learned their lesson (big SUV-high gas prices-swear tey will never going to do it again), the appeal of the smaller suvs and crossovers are becoming more and more popular.... Like you said, product is what sells. If the consumer wants a smaller, easier to drive, and better on gas suvs, they will get it. They will sell, just not in as large as numbers... As far as the Explorer, it doesn't have much going for it, Period. Looks, or otherwise...
-
0% APR in Lue of Rebates
I expect sales to slide..a lot. Watching the major slide of the Explorer pretty much sums up what will happen to the rest of the big SUVs.... Reabtes may not tap 10 grand-but they will get close.....
-
0% APR in Lue of Rebates
You forgot you tell em' rebates will hit over 10 grand too pretty soon... :( Man, it's going to get ugly...they can't even sell these used anymore...

GM Full-Size Van Conversions
My mom isn't sure what she is going to do with her Astro. She was thinking maybe Uplander..but I'm now trying to talk her out of it. Those vans are major P.O.S....I'd thought they would be a bit better...but from what I'm hearing, but not much if at all... :( I told her to wait until the L vans/suvs/ smallish wagons roll out in the next few years...those might be worth it...

GM Full-Size Van Conversions
Our family had an 86 Chevy Custom Van...and I have to say I miss that van. Especially after the 350 was dropped in. :AH-HA_wink:  :chevy: Though gas milage sucked..... If I could afford one, i really would consider one. They need to be priced lower...so normal people can afford them. 50 grand just doesn't cut it. 35 and lower...much better.... People that can afford a Lexus are not going to buy a van... I've seen a few interesting ideas around here though...

Good to be back in a real car
yep, got a co-worker who thinks the same way. (he had a 95 Neon-head gasket issues) The part that annoys me though is that he hopes the car companies go out of business. And he tells everybody that too. <_< He rips apart my beater Cav..and tries to get everyone else to do so.... and since its been in the shop a few times lately (replacing the fuel system) But at 130k, it does a very good job.. You get tired of that "See, see?!! When will you learn?!?" I swear when I get the EGR replaced (last part I have to do), and he says something...he may come out to find his car on fire....

Could you contain yourself?
I've seen Cavalier roll off and be totaled right there. Dealership had a new guy... The customer actually watched it happen..as did I. The guy standing next to us says,"Well, now you could sue." As if by magic, the service was heading back there himself, ansd he turned white as a ghost. The nice thing was that the dealership was really cool about it. Thet let him pick a car off the lot to take home. Man, was he happy about that. He drove in with a Cavalier, and drove out with a S-10 Extreme.... :)
