New Astra: Refined Design
Still have to wonder what will change for the NA Saturn version...

DeadStar - Analog shutdown kills pre-'02 OnStar
<<another person who couldn't care less about having onstar. I understand the advantages of it & all, but still would not pay for it. Personally, I'd think it would be a great move if, since GM is putting OnStar in all their vehicles anyway, made the emergency calling on airbag deployment standard for, say, 5 years, even without onstar subscription. Of course they won't, because that's probably the only feature that 80% of the subscribers care about anyway.

RWD G6 rumor?
pretty sure the minivan is already scheduled to go bye bye.

Chery A3 and A5 Hybrid
copyrights are specific to countries, Audi can't sue unless Chery tries to sell it in a country where they have copyright on that name, which probably isn't the case in China.

2007 Suzuki XL-7 pictures
I kinda like the headlights. Looks pretty long - do they have a shorter version with similar styling?

08 Turbo 4 dr Cobalt SS
Personally, I think the current 4dr Cobalt looks too boring to be made into an SS turbo - give it a restyle so that it looks more sporty, and I'd be fine with having both the coupe & sedan in SS/T trim.

USA TODAY Saturn Aura XR test
I test drove both models. I drove the XE first, and thought it was a pretty nice car with plenty of power for most drivers. If you stomped it, it would move along pretty quick. Then I drove the XR, and it felt like it was constantly ready to sprint, even before you would stomp it, and of course would move very quickly. Then a Mercedes ran a stoplight and almost hit us. Anyway... anything else you want to know?

European COTY
They would bring it if they could, but they can't. Lutz already said they wanted to bring it as a Saturn, but it would take 3 years to make it meet standards (and a gob of money, I assume), when the next design should be here in 5. Personally, I think they should speed that up some... but still.

GM/Chevy Deals?
keep in mind, though, that the SS/SC does not only have the 30 extra horses, but it's a built motor, a different suspension, etc. They did a pretty good job with it and the Ion RL in making them notably differentiated from the other trim levels - they didn't just slap a more powerful engine in there. Whether it's worth the extra money is still up to the buyer, though.

Feature Idea
I think it'd be great if Cheers & Gears featured an vehicle timeline... Core features: Divided by GM division (Chevy, Saab, Buick, etc...) Show month each vehicle is set to go on sale (start of timeline bar) Show end of production - actual or estimated future end (end of timeline bar) Additional feature ideas: include other manufacturers include concept vehicles include trim levels or major options (engines, etc) build backward through time to create a more complete timeline, including out of business manufacturers if it needs to be kept simpler, have the timeline only look at the future, and only go so far into the future (5-10 yrs). Bars for production ends start at today, and bars for new products start at introduction and end at the set endpoint, for example. This just seems like a great way to collect all the information about when new vehicles are coming out, and put it all in one simple visual. Probably the hardest thing would be maintaining it as new products are announced. Just an idea...

GM raising prices slightly
I take this as a good sign for the health of GM.

2007 Techno Gray Aura XR
I think the badges look great, personally. As GMTruckGuy mentioned, though, they can easily be changed to another color by taking the badge off, removing the back, and putting something else of the color you want in its place. Might make it stand out less (and more, at the same time. lol) I'll be buying one of those big badges sometime for a special project... hee hee hee

Consider a "repaired" car?
Well, previous owners have beat on it enough to be equivalent of probably 250K miles. :-p I can't complain though... if they hadn't beat on it so badly, I wouldn't have been able to afford it. lol Seriously, though - all the important (to me) stuff was still in good shape - it hasn't been wrecked seriously, just a a cracked or gouged fender here or there that will be unbolted and replaced - engine runs well, which will get me through til I can build something... better. Interior is a bit ragged, but I want to do some different stuff in there as well. It's loaded up with decent features, and the only thing in that not working right is the driver's side power lock, which I need to get an actuator for. Unfortunately found out that the '99 3dr coupe has its own unique actuator.

Consider a "repaired" car?
130k Engine runs well. Should be getting the tranny soon for about $400 - rebuilt, and welded differential pin (weak point of the Saturn tranny). I'm currently cleaning the seats & carpet. These things are SO easy to work on.

GM Won't Abandon Electric Car
+1 - it's funny the way many people react when you tell them that there is no mechanical connection between a diesel locomotive's engine and wheels.
-
Consider a "repaired" car?
another option would be a late model Saturn S-Series that someone broke the engine or tranny in, and just replace/get it replaced. Though, heck, I've seen '02 SL2s go for $5-6,000 without any problems. The cars hold up very well if not beat on too badly, get great milage, etc, etc. They are a bit small for some people's tastes, though. I picked up a '99 SC2 with a bad tranny and a few other things that need attention for a grand. Gonna be fun to fix up, and cheap transportation that I can also have some fun with.

Outlook Video
I think his comment was supposed to imply "this looks so good that I've forgotten the MDX even exists...", not that it was a copycat...

Sky Red Line
how about 5.5s 0-60 for under $30k? I can't wait to see what the aftermarket comes up with for performance upgrades, as well.

Sky Redline Dyno Test
So we just accept everything Jerry Flintstone says as gospil? Please, anyone can look and see that Cadillac and Hummer have hits on their hands and are doing much better than a few years ago. 211213[/snapback] I'm pretty sure Balth was being sarcastic...

Sky Red Line
Found this while looking around online: Some good footage & review of the Sky Red Line. Took care of the power complaint - seems the only complaint left is with the top.
