Dan Neil Reviews the Vue Green Line
what a whiner. Is this another reviewer that's been driving too many $50k vehicles? The Vue, while not perfect, is nowhere near as bad as he's making it out to be.

Toyota Launches Auris Compact in Japan
Looks like it's the same general size as the Yaris - I'd think they'd have to have one or the other, not both.

Opel Astra Sedan unveiled
I was going to guess Subaru Outback, but they redesigned for '06, apparently. Here's from an '05: Headunits like this just look embarrassingly crappy.

Hyundai Extends Industry-Leading Warranty to 2010
I think the point is that GM announced their increased warranty, and Hyundai wanted to go "look, ours is better!" Just a chance for the to wave their arms around & make some noise.

Best Rice Ever
personally, I think it loses "best rice" because it's obviously sarcastic. Someone making fun of ricers by outdoing them. Not exactly rice, but rice-mockery. Still funny, though.

Opel Astra Sedan unveiled
...but please not just the same crappy looking radio with "Pontiac" printed on it somewhere. Come to think of it... don't put the brand name on it. Make it work with the interior of the car, or the style of the brand, but don't bother printing that crap on there, IMO.

Opel Astra Sedan unveiled
Oh, and I'm also going to guess the NA standard 3-spoke steering wheel? GM, the current 3-spoke looks nice, but I don't like 3-spoke steering wheels! I like to have one hand at 6 o'clock when holding speed down a straight road, like the interstate. *edit* oh, and what's with that stupid little oval pass-through between the trunk & rear seats? Is that for structural reasons? I like a wide open... opening.

Video: LS460 Parking Itself
The spot having that much space left over, and the fact that it's not a small car just means that the likelihood of finding a space like that is not that great. If the car needs that much space to park itself, then the usefulness of this feature is going to apply to, what, 1/4 or fewer of the spaces out there? Sometimes you don't have a choice where you park.

Drums to Disks
if any trim level or simmilar model had them, it can be very easy. For example, on the Saturn S-Series, only cars with ABS/traction had rear disks, but they'll swap right onto any other S-Series as long as you get all the pieces, and the right e-brake cable. And you don't have to swap the ABS system with them. If there wasn't a trim or feature level of the same car that had them, then it can be hard, and you'll either need to find out if another model used pretty much the same brake setup, and they can swap, or if the aftermarket has any availiable.

Video: LS460 Parking Itself
that wasn't exactly a tiny parking spot it pulled itself into. Still, very neat.

Opel Astra Sedan unveiled
so, people who know more than me... what changes can we expect? I'm going to guess: a) slight interior change to include the standard NA corporate radio b) NA Ecotec engines (will they drop the 2.2L and make the 2.4L base, with 2.0L super or turbo-charged for a Red Line verson?)

Opel Astra Sedan unveiled
Seems like I saw this on C&G somewhere already, but it should be in the Saturn section as well... Article: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/20/opel-as...new-saturn-ion/

C&G Spy Shots: The Next ION!
should this still be a pinned thread, since it was axed? Or renamed to reflect it being a NG Ion concept that was dropped?

Solstice with Folding Hardtop on the Way
a folding hardtop would mean less than zero trunkspace - they'd have to work some major magic. I hope the above posters are right that this is actually all about a coupe. *edit* Hmmm... a Solstice coupe... I wonder what that would mean for the Sky? "Introducing, the saturn... ummm... Ceiling! Yeah, I would kinda expect there to not be a Saturn version. Unless they called it the Curve, after the other Saturn concept...

SPIED! 2008 Pontiac Vibe
very effective camo job. I can see this not being the Vibe, though it's hard to tell. I can't tell if there is a break in the grill behind that triangular camo piece or not.

Aura to get Nav?
It does have the audio turn-by-turn nav availiable, doesn't it? Just not a nav screen setup?

Saab AlcoKey to be Tested on Swedish Roads
ummm... ok. So you at least have to have a sober person nearby... Is this meant for offenders? IDK, it just feels like a half-baked solution to a serious problem.

Chevrolet Aveo sedan
+1, you don't even have to turn your head at all. They're a little awkward... for like 20 minutes. Then it feels fine. Some people take longer to get used to them than others, though. I still prefer the normal mount gauges, but it just seems like the anti-center mount comments tend to be overstated, or from people who have not even tried them on a test drive.

FORGET A PHASE OUT!
Spoken like a bean counter. BTW, I have experience in a number of areas, including factory work, on top of my masters in technology with focuses in organizational leadership and process improvement/lean manufacturing. As GM has been moving over to more lean production methods (something they will certainly be doing more and more with each new model), they can build profitable vehicles in smaller lots using different production techniques, such as hydroforming panels. I'd expect the Camaro/Firebird twins would sell at higher rates than the Solstice/Sky, simply because they will be more practical in space to carry things. While you can see some shared overall shapes between those twins, they are very distinct. Somehow you think this can't be done for the Camaro/Firebird? If they simply slap a pontiac grill on the Camaro, I'd expect the ranting to continue against that decision for decades.

Delphi Tossing Unprofitable GM Contracts
