Sleepers you have owned
I love that New Yorker. The 440 was a kick @ss engine, even in a big sled like that. I had a 71 Newport for two years. Helluva ride and reasonably swift with a 383.

You'll be happy, too!
The DeSoto Firesweep model always bugged me, what with its Dodge front clip tacked onto the rear 2/3 of a Chrysler. Loved the Fireflite and Adventurer though. Especially the Adventurer.

1958 Lincoln Premiere Landau
My favorite Lincolns were the '52-'55 models. Pretty good performers for their day and quite good looking, in my opinion.

Dashboard trivia--two versions of the same model w/ different dashes in the same year
Yeah, same here. The highlight of my life used to be heading over to the car dealers with my dad & brother to see the new models in the fall. On rare occasions, we'd come home with a new car. We went to look at the original Mustang when it came out. My brother and I begged the old man to get one, but we wound up with a '64 Galaxie convertible instead. Not a bad consolation prize, eh?

Dashboard trivia--two versions of the same model w/ different dashes in the same year
Wow, don't know how I came up with that. I'm seriously slow most of the time--just ask my coworkers. I can't even remember what we talked about in a meeting earlier today.

I'm still pissed that Oldsmobile was killed off. It was my favorite GM brand. Sorry, just had to share that.

Dashboard trivia--two versions of the same model w/ different dashes in the same year
Maybe the Chevy Monza hatchback & notchback? I can't remember what the dash looked like in either of these, but I remember the notchback looking a whole lot like a spruced up Vega from the outside...

Dashboard trivia--two cars in same family w/ different dashes in the same year
A "maybe" for this question is the AMC Ambassador & Matador circa 1971? Not quite as clear cut as the Marquis & Monterey though.

Just a guess from memory--'71 Mercury Marquis vs. Monterey?

What Are You Listening To?
Wow. I think I'd quickly find myself in the ditch if that was in my car's CD player.

Mr. Rogers presents the Rambler Landau convertible
I'd say an AMC 390 would be just right.

Those '59s still blow me away. They were almost startling back in the day.

You'll be happy, too!
Always loved the 1969-'70 Marauder. The 429 was a happenin' engine. Took my driver's test in a '71 Marquis Brougham 2-door hardtop. I'd dearly love to have that car now. My favorite Merc:

1974:- You'll be happy, too!
Yeah, I'd definitely be happy. Delirious, even.- Rant Thread
The talk about Apple reminds me of the time I went to the Honda dealership to try out the new Odyssey minivan (the first iteration of the large model, which replaced the overpriced tall station wagon). The salesdroid informed me that I would have to make an appointment to drive the dambed thing--and they were fully booked for the day already. "Maybe we can pencil you in for a Wednesday or Thursday test drive, Mr. NeonLX?". "No, maybe you can't. I'm not fawning over your tubby minivan like the rest of these lemmings".- Clean, linear, beautiful!
'59 and '60 were really good years for Pontiac. Come to think of it, so were '55, '56, '57, '58, '61, '62, '63...etc.- 1958 Lincoln Premiere Landau
What a big honkin' barge! But I love it.- The Year Is: 1991
Yeah, if the Transport was a '92 with the 3800, I'd go with that. If I'm stuck with a '91 model, however, I'd take the Voyager, no question. We had a 1989 that was the bee's knees.- Mr. Rogers presents the Rambler Landau convertible
Ramblers were classy little cars. Those hood ornaments are amazing.- SEPTEMBER 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD!!!
Very clean. Looks to be a daily driver though; hope it won't be slogging through snow & ice (and all of the salt used on the streets in the winter).- The Year Is: 1959
Probably the Dodge. Or maybe the Mercury...jeez, I just don't know. '59 Ambassador would likely be my first choice. They went pretty well with the AMC 327 V8.- 2012 GMC Terrain SLT-2 AWD
Is the 3.0L V6 related to the 3.6L?- Pre-Caminos, Phantom-Caminos, and one Rare Ford
Jeez, that '61 Phantom is to die for. - SEPTEMBER 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD!!!
