Intrepidation

Hey I like vanilla! Just not in my cars... While I'm hardly a fan of the Camry (although the S package on them makes them look alright...blacked out grill does wonders for the car), I also know that Toyota doesn't need any other sedans besides the Camry, cuz aside from that 6-speed auto, it's a well built, compitent machine, more so than the GM midsizers. Also it would seem that, at least in some cases, the Fusion has better build quality, which is pretty amazing. I also agree that GM doesn't have anything different or enticing enough to be competetive with that one car. The Aura will undoubtedly help, but how much is open to debate. As it stands now, I would actually choose the Camry (with S package) over the Malibu and G6...cuz neither can match it in terms of power and refinement. Also...the Malibu is hideous. Not too bad actually...I hate the normal models with their fish gill grills still though. I think the Fusion makes a very good business case for itself against the Camry, and, given a few tweaks (more potent V6, redesigned center stack controls) could easily equal or better it. Also, I believe the Fusion hasn't had any problems yet (though I could be wrong). I'd take the Fusion over the Camry any day I'm eagerly awaiting DCX's midsizers...those will be anything but vanilla!

I can understand not liking one...but Korean? When was the last time they came up with something had sharp lines like that.

Interoior is ok, I hate the exterior. It does look like a crushed LaCrosse! So the Caliber is selling well in your area reg? I've been seeing a fair amount around here too. I sw a black one today...man it looked sweet.

Might i suggest making the colors of the headlights a bluer or at least whiter tint? I'm not a fan of yellow headlights

So opinions vary. As far as looks and interior design goes I would probably pick the GTI. But VeeDubs aren't exactly reliable, plus the Si is lighter. So it can go either way. SRT-4 for me please. Gotta agree with ya BV. The sedan stylistically isn't that good...it's actually worse after the refesh though. The interior looks horrible, both ergonomically (gauges) and quality wise. I like the quad coupe's exterior so much better...but the interior kills it. Honestly, the old Neon looks better IMO, even the build and materials quality seem better. My best friend's mom has one. It has never been to the shop aside from brakes, oil, etc. Not a single broken part (it's now 6 years old, still looks new). My only gripe about it is the ugly steering wheel before 2003....and I don't care for the `03 `06 front end. The dhas is meh, nothing gorgious but ergonimcally sound. I'd take it over the Ion any day.

The new steering whee, and center stack look pretty good...but it looks to gray, at least in that picture...and if those are supposed to be metallic accents...they don't look very metallic. Could just be GM's bad photography.

Yeah, although whereas the Fusion really isn't that exciting/distinctive when you remove the grill, head and tail lights, the Avenger looks like it will be distinctive allround.

I dunno if I will ever warm up to the coupe. It looks ok from teh rear/rear 3/4 but any other angle and it looks disproportionate

Yeah I know, but they tout it like it's the greatestthing in the world, and because they factory tested it, it'll last forever. Like you said, it's nothing special. I don't see why they are bragging about it.
