Its an automatic...P R N D. What's hard about that? I understand the nitpick, and I even agree with it. But a deterrent for potential shoppers? No more than the dozens of weird quirks I can find in any Japanese or European car vs. a domestic. Not really that big of a deal either way.

    That's awesome, man!
  3. IMO, GM made the mistake of not advertising them and not showcasing their usage as mobile built-in generators. I love GM a whole darn lot, but these made lousy fuel economy hybrids. They are, however, contractor specials so to speak. To consider them not hybrids because they don't return marked increases in fuel economy is misunderstanding what the definition of a hybrid vehicle is - one that uses multiple propulsion systems to provide motive power. The Prius is a hybrid, so is the Insight, the GM pickup trucks, GM hybrid buses, diesel/electric locomotives, the WWII patrol sub USS Wahoo, and those geeky bicycles with a tiny electric motor attached to the rear wheel.
  4. The grille is jaw-dropping, no?

  10. To be honest, I didn't really read what he said for...yeah...reasons. :P
  11. There is a difference between being well-paid when the company is doing well and still drawing a large salary when the company is failing.
  12. Can I buy some pot from you? 'Cause its clear you have plenty.
  13. Yeah, I believe he made a statement like the two things he was ashamed of were his homosexuality and that he (being Japanese) spent time in an internment camp during WWII. He's not doing it to get attention, so I'm happy for him that he's able to do this. He's not like all these has-been pesudocelebs that go ahead and announce, "I'M GAY! And I'm writing a book..." Newsflash: you're gay, and no one cares.
  14. Bu...bu...but it has a trunk in the bed...IN THE BED, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
  15. What was needed was a Cobalt MAXX and even an Impala MAXX as a proper station wagon. Envoy XUV also failed because of its high price and looks, though I liked the styling.
  16. I also don't understand what negative baggage Rendezvous had besides its not-so-elegant hindquarters and semi-dopey engine. The vehicle itself was fantastic as people who never would've looked at Buick before checked out and liked the Rendezvous.
  17. The last name of Hitler... White Pages - Hitler
  18. Actually, pretty much all modern cars except three. Others tend not to explode as much.
  19. Rendezvous is such a tremendously appropriate name. Not only does it sound good and fit with the pseudo European naming scheme, but it describes accurately what the vehicle is...a meeting - or rendezvous of a car, van, and SUV. Enclave is a very, very poor choice. Centieme would've been better, which isn't saying much.
  20. Aurora replaced Toronado in spirit and replaced the 98 as Olds' flagship in '95 when it debuted. Originally, the 1995 Aurora was going to be called 'Toronado' before the new name/image was chosen as part of the restructuring plan. This fits for several reasons: 1) Aurora continues the Toro's position as the Olds technological, performance, and styling leader; Ninety-Eight was never about new technology or performance as such. 2) Aurora is trimmer and slimmer inside and out - as Bobo said - thn the Ninety-Eight. 3) Before fully realized, Intrigue was meant to be called 'Cutlass Supreme,' providing more evidence that Olds wanted to carry on the traditional naming structure and positions of the cars. Also, the Ninety-Eight was very much replaced by the Olds Regency, which was simply and Eighty-Eight with all the options and a chrome grille. By Aurora's debut, Ninety-Eight became totally irrelevant. One can even argue that The '97 Buick Park Avenue was also a Ninety-Eight successor as well as the Park's.
  21. More less, yeah. I always have my digi with me for such a case, though I've never needed to use those photos to prove anything. Also, always call the police. I don't care who it is, where it is, where you have to go do not trust ANYONE to give you their proper insurance information. When my Olds was backed into but the stupid 4Runner bitch, we both waited 45min in the hot July sun for a police volunteer to arrive on scence (since it was non-emergency and on private property), but I didn't care. I remember her husband came by and told me, "Oh, well, I'm a Deputy Sheriff Volunteer in So-and-So County, and the police can't asses blame on private property so she can just give you her info and we can go." I was like. "Oh yeah? Interesting. I still called the police." My friend at UCF in Orlando recently had an accident where someone in her apartment complex backed into her Taurus and really, really messed the bumper up badly. She just took her insurance info and called it in later. Guess what? She gave her false information and guess what else? She lied about being in that complex, too; she was visiting a friend there. So, now she has to go through alot more hassle to try to recover. Also, after an accident that's not your fault, if you're going to file an insurance claim, do it immediately. The sooner you get your word in, the better.
  22. Compared to the rampant corruption and graft members of the United Nations were part of, this is nothing
  23. Yes, what's the real deal? Dodge will have no compact car at all now and its lowest model will be the Caliber? Caliber Stratus Magnum/Charger Nice lineup...
  24. Well, if a Z06 is white trash, then grow me a mullet and call me Enus.
  25. Yeah. Fits like OJ's glove... Besides that not even being our Azera, Hyundai still misses it on the details - the dead option plate between the 'VAPS' and 'VDC' buttons on the lower left console, the chime speaker prominately displayed opposite the hazard button right on the center stack as opposed to being hidden or integrated with a regular speaker, the miniscule Panasonic VCR digital clock, the downmarket green LCD background on the US spec radio/HVAC displays, the horrible ergonomics and lookalike buttons on the aforementioned. And wasn't poor lower console intergration like this... ...a major bitch with the STS? I'm not saying its junk; I'm saying the interior shown on Edmunds (and much closer to the ones we'll mostly be looking it) is nothing spectacular and was obviously built to a price, which is totally acceptable for a Hyundai. Its very easy for Korean cars to wow because the vast majority expect them to be complete wastes of metal good enough for the poor and the broke anyway. The trick will be to get people to desire an Azera because its an Azera rather than because its cheaper than a Buick or Avalon.
