  1. Actually this is a case where you should be able to sell on "car" as well as price. IMHO the Malibu is actually a nicer car than the Accord, and I would buy a Malibu if they were priced the same. Shockingly, I've talked to several people lately who agree with me on this. Chris
  2. Scion/Totyta totally effed up on the new xB, needs to refresh the TC, and the xd is just plain goofy. I don't look for Scion to be around in five years. Seriously. They are the equal of a one hit wonder band (the original xB was kind of cool) but the other products leave a lot to be desired. Chris
  3. The Rabbit is not a good car, period. The build quality is just not there, 5 cyl motor is not fuel efficient, car has a worse interior layout than the golf... Why do you think the Opel has passed the Rabbit in european sales? Chris
  4. I could not agree more. Lots of people were turned off with the old Saturns, lots of people are being turned on with the new. Competition and the need for companies to survive is a dandy thing. Chris
  5. Can't blame you for being burned up, that is just piss poor marketing on their part. Chris
  6. Seriously, like I have said before here in the midwest amoung guys that actually use their trucks the TURD is a joke. I would much rather sell FORD/DODGE/GM than Toyota when it comes to trucks. Chris

I am going to seriously look at the 08 Malibu when it comes out. We are going to be in the market for a new car next year and while I don't like the styling quite as well as the Mazda 6 I do like the car much better than even the new Accord. ...and I do agree with Dodgefan on the good enough thing. GM is capable of building vehicles that are over the top good. Look at the STS, CTS, Corvette, The new Crossovers, etc. They just need to go after the small car/midsize market with more heart. Chris
  8. Yeah, caddycruiser they are a sweet car. Just wish that I could afford one. Chris
  9. How about the "Homeless Shelter" special edition. We could put all of thsoe trucks that are just sitting on dealer lots to work housing the homeless. ....and since the trucks would never need to move we wouldn't even need to worry about bad camshafts...or bad fuel economy. Chris
  10. Given global warming, the impending oil crisis, the rise in religious fundamentalism of every stripe, the huge rise in population, our other environmental issues... I am not so shure that our species will be here in 2525 to know who the Americans even were. Chris
  11. Exactly. I like the idea of owning cars cash. You could do a lot with a 59 Buick with the $450 a month a car loan would set you back. Chris
  12. +1 on this, adn not just the economic mistakes... In a really really bad way. The growth of Islamic fundamentalism, the growth of China as a world power, peak oil, the decline of US mfg, our budget deficits, our involvement in Iraq, the housing crisis... We are not leaving much of a world to our children. Chris
  13. ...and btw, Tony is one of a select few Nascar drivers I like. Chris
  14. I'd like to enter a third here. Love SCCA stuff and rallying, but Nascar is about as worthless as tailfins on a Tercel. Chris
  15. The Rabbit has some nice fit and finish but the Audi 5 Cyl they use in it has piss-poor fuel economy and the electronics in them just suck ass to no end. Chris
  16. Exactly. They have such a bad rep here they might be better off pulling out. Chris
  17. Yes, yes, yes...PICS! Chris
  18. That Buick is sweet. Chris
  19. Sweet. Glad to see Cobalt is up as well. Not suprised the trucks and crossovers are selling, they are a first rate product. Chris
  20. Or shades of the SSR... Chris
  21. Actually the Corvair was a brilliant design also. Methinks if I am not wrong that the last Corvair built is Gold with a black top and in private hands...one of the last GM cars where the last one built is in private hands. Seems to me like I saw it advertised in hemmings awhile back. Any info? Chris
  22. That is a sweet Buick! Chris

Fly: So are you running bias ply tires or radials on that thing? Seems to me some of the older Iron rode better on Bias Ply, but that probably came from the factory with radials, right? Chris
  24. Awesome photo! Chris
  25. The H3 is a much better designed vehicle. Chris
