  1. lol... I better change that then... Then again, the Cavalier too, is a silly thing.

Got A 2.2L 1997 Cavalier, and I'm getting this intermittent "clip, clip, clop" (sorta like horse hooves on cobblestone) sound coming from somewhere in the front right of the car sometimes between 40&60KPH... I think it's coming from the suspension, but I'm not sure, but it only goes through one sequence of the above sound, goes away for a few hours, and then happens again... I don't think it's the pavement I'm driving on, but I'm concerned about what it might be and if it might pose a safety risk further down the road. Any Insight??
  3. I loved the 1994-1999 Deville, the 2002 Eldorado Celebration Edition, the 1998+ Seville.
  4. With the Cavalier 2.2L, I get about 21MPG City with very conservative driving With the Malibu 3.5L, About 24MPG City with not-so-conservative driving. With the Venture 3.4L, about 17MPG City with very Conservative driving.
  5. Fly, the A350 Proponents (fanbois) are even lamer... they can't even seem to freeze a design... A350 Orders: 80, 787 Orders: Approaching 700 if AA orders them, approaching 600 otherwise (the plane is revolutionary and has ALREADY BROKEN EVEN and Turning a profit. Oh, and Airbus will never sell 750 A380s, pure fantasy, period. John Leahy might think so, but none of us agree with his propaganda. It may break even, but that's pretty optimistic. I can't see the 747-8i as a big commercial success, maybe a moderate one, but the real money Boeing is going to make is on the 747-8F.

  10. Yeah... I think the reason alot of high schoolers are driving Centuries is because their grandparents "shouldn't be driving anymore", and want the car to stay in the family (My grandpa is fanatical about his Caravan)
  11. To tell the truth, I considered the Intrigue above all of them, but the 3.8 Series II as a V6 just doesn't get the economy I'd like... I know that I can crank better economy out of the Series I in the dustbusters from personal experience. I also don't like the reliability of the Shortstar, which effectively eliminates Intrigue... Also, to add to my previous statement, my mom and my aunt are trying to convince my to buy a Volvo 850- I don't think so.
  12. With me looking to turf my Dahlia Blue 1997 Cavalier, and am looking to buy something new this fall... I've short listed it to a few choices, most with the 3.1L V6 as it is relatively efficient, and I need some advice to prioritize my list before I talk to my used car guy. I'm currently considering: 1997-2001 Buick Century 1995-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Lumina (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (3.1L) 1997-2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.1L) 1994-1995 Pontiac Trans Sport 3.8L/Chevrolet Lumina Minivan 3.8L (The Dustbusters) Now, my gut is telling me that the best choice is the Century because of the JD Power Awards for quality and dependability, but I have some serious questions about the dustbusters... We had a '94 model and replaced the tranny at 120K KM, and it started slipping again ad 175K when we got rid of it... I'd really like to own one of these vans, but from the personal experience as well as the reviews on the 'net about the car eating alternators. going through trannys every 90000KM and having bad wiper motors and power window motors, we never had any of these problems, but it was a good looking vehicle and great on gas once it gets a better air filter and spark plugs (3.8L). Have any of you had these vans or known people who did, and could elaborate on some realistic reliability figures. Also need opinion on what you think of my other possibilities. Thanks in advance
  13. Well, if it means that GM can get its hands on those vans and improve their powertrain/transmissions, while retaining Lambda Superiority, well than I'm all for it... I can't see that realistically happening however.
  14. It doesn't look enough like a 1962 LeBaron Imperial IMO! The 62 Imp is my favourite classic car, and if that car had a more pronounced grille styling, and a better ass-end with gunsight taillights and a trunk that is continental kit reminiscent, I'd dream of driving one... Now it's just a vaguely Imperial resembling brick. Unique Wheels: The Most Shocking Neglected styling cues: On top of that, it needs to use the Imperial Eagle logo, and should be less beefy and more sweepingly graceful like this LeBaron.

  17. Nope, the one you speak of is Crowchild Trail, which, bottlenecks aside, is 2000x better and safer than Deerfoot (I use it most every day). Deerfoot's near the airport, going North to Edmonton, and South to the US Border. Deerfoot when it's icy is just a lost cause...

If we're to say one thing about the 401 that is altogether positive, it's that the lanes are of a safe width, which is more than I can say for Deerfoot Trail, Calgary's freeway. 10'000 accidents in 5 years, lanes that are too narrow, and excessive speeding. All in a city of barely a million people. The road is really bad, and I will take small side streets just to avoid it.   20. Hey all, Looking to buy a 1996-1999 Olds Eighty Eight, and want to know which tranny is better for reliability, the 4T60E in the 96-97 or the 4T65E in the 98-99? We had the 4T60 in a 1994 Trans Sport that was nothing but trouble, and have had three 4T65E vans without trouble, but I'm looking for a second opinion. Any help is appreciated.
