Haha me too, there is one about a mile from our office I will often just grab one consumables item (kirkland paper towels, bathroom tissue etc) after doing a sample lunch to supplement a packed lunch that was too small.

The Outback probably has about 1000% more cladding when measured by depth (yeah some owners probably use a little more as a softroader than TourX owners). I can live with the TourX cladding.

But then they would have to call it a station wagon and sell 1000 instead of 5000 a year.

If the regular hybrid sells 10k a month, these could sell a few thousand or more a month too, might be over 45 grand though and have very limited EV only range. An 80 mile EV only range under 50K with a RAV4 name would do pretty damn well.

For sure, we could get by with the smaller car. It just annoys me that Subarus up here go for MSRP. CX5 is still in the running too if my SO warms up to the looks. So we could end up with a CVT, DSG, or conventional automatic. Sidetracked right now gutting/renovating main bathroom.

Of the non-luxury or premium brands I think only Mazda, Toyota (e-CVT hybrid aside which is quite different) and the Korean brands don't have them so far? Drove 2019/2020 Subarus recently and the CVT's were actually pretty responsive.

Looked at the Terrain briefly but my eyes started to water when I saw how many options I would have to include to get what I would like.

I think most companies will be keep it down to two or so sedans moving forward, but they will have to be on platforms that the CUVs are also built on.

Reminds me I have to check out the Alltrack before we commit to an Outback.

Its definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to most for our next vehicle. Wife is pretty set on 2020 Outback XT.

Second generation Saab 95 spotted on the way home from test driving 2020 Outback XT and CX5 turbo today. I don't recall ever seeing one before. Funny that the salesrep at Subaru used to work at a Saturn/Saab/Isuzu dealer here.

$59,000->$40,000 in ten years and 200,000 miles, that is pretty awesome, even if the maintenance costs were a little high.

Last night my SO decided she would like to get a CUV to replace her lightly driven 2008 Accord Coupe with 40K miles on it. She asked about hybrids but I convinced her pretty quickly it wasn't worth it given how little she drives (maybe worth it with our combined mileage if I end up driving it too if it is a small upcharge for a bit of extra oomph with the MPG). In the end she will probably end up in a CX5 or Forester, she did express some interest in something "fancier' but I don't think it is worth it with the kid seats, spills, crumbs etc..

The RAV4 hybrid is selling at 100K+ a year clip in the US last I checked, so Honda needed to get this here. In Canada currently there is almost a six month wait upon ordering a RAV4 hybrid. They should probably have the option for their thirstier midsize/3 row models too (Passport/Pilot)

The great mystery... Still no compact EV CUV sized similar to big selling CRV, RAV4, Rogue etc but a lot of compact cars/hatchbacks.

Would definitely affect next purchase quite a bit, maybe accelerate it a little if say a $1500 repair were necessary.

Probably the S5 Sportback. I would be just as happy with an A5 Sportback brand new, don't need all that power for a daily driver and it still has most of the looks, interior qualities and "hatchback" versatility.
