    Well then, that's that,

    Is the body MIA?
  3. Can't be...
  4. At least they're going! I hate stasis.
  5. A clear case of someone who just doesn't get it. The owners should just keep it and drive the wheels off of it.

Value is going up too: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3512599218.html

It is starting to get a bit better, still a long way to go.
  8. Hmmm, shouldn't this be in the Holden forum?

Improved, I suppose. But it remained terminally ugly.

Oh, now that's nice. I had no idea that a convertible was built.
  11. Couple of minor setbacks today. The 140 AMP alternator is physically too large, so I had to order a 155 AMP that is plug and play for the Tahoe. Bit more expensive, and I'll have to wait a bit for it, but should be better overall. Also the rear wiper blade that NAPA lists will not mount, so they are getting me an Anco.

The sad part is that the Aztek was only the start of a really ugly era, in which the Cube is the current champ in my opinion. It took what was wrong with the Element and made it worse. The thing looks like an old-time ice box on acid.
  13. I'm putting it off until plow season is over - can't have this beast out of service while snow is possible.
  14. Ah, but you ignore GM's advantage. Yes, brands like Ferrari, Porsche, and even BMW have a real problem - because they don't sell Cruzes and Sparks. But GM does. GM sells a multitude of ever more fuel efficient cars and trucks, CAFE need never threaten the Corvette.
  15. As you guys know, I purchased my red '98 Tahoe 2-door Z71 to replace the ROPOS plow truck and my green '95 Tahoe 2-door. Green isn't on the market yet, but the ROPOS is gone so I am starting to optimize Mr. Red. Just doing damage control mostly at this point since all sorts of little problems have cropped-up since the purchase. But, there are other plans in the works. Today I replaced the auto 4WD dash switch (known for going bad) which quit on me after plowing here for the first time the other day. I also ordered a new window/door lock switch to replace the current one which fails intermittently (and locked me out of the vehicle capping a really bad day not long after the purchase). There are other annoying items on my list as well, but I've already started to get some upgrades into the plan. - I've eliminated the DRLs: Really hate these things as they are the early type that uses the low beams in the headlights, and they create too much electrical draw when plowing in daylight. - Next week I plan to have the dealer crank up the stiffness/ride height of the front torsion bars to counter the weight of the plow. - I ordered a 140 Amp alternator so the electrical system can better keep up with the demands of the plow. Thinking about some other upgrades too, but first I want to attack the list of stuff that isn't up to par. I'll post here as I go, and add pics when they make sense.
  16. Hyper, Corvette doesn't sell enough units to be a real factor in CAFE - so it's a bit of a pointless worry.

Easily a top-finisher in this category:
  18. It is still the one I'd buy if I were buying today.

Can't defend any of the nominees so far...
  20. Well, I've had my say on all of this, so I'll just add one more thought. I don't think we'll see a V6 Corvette any time soon. And I sure hope not.

A fine job once again, Bobo.
  22. The truth is that anything I'd buy new has to be interesting and a little different. Not much of that around.
  23. You are never going to see a new RWD V8 coupe or EL Camino at a Spark price, so you may as well stop dreaming... Never said that I expected such... not once.
  24. Not all FWD 4 cylinder sedan. There will be some RWD and larger V8 coupes but they will not be cheap. Price will help limit the market is what the companies are looking at at some point. The prices will rise over the next 10 plus years to the point it will be difficult to afford anything with a large engine unless you have the means. The Chevy SS is a perfect response to this. It will be available to the 10-20k buyers who want a RWD V8 car. Between that, a Camaro, a Corvette, and a couple Cadillacs, the v8 market will be amply covered, at least as far as GM is concerned. Not even close as far as I'm concerned.
