Spied: Chevy Lambda
Those wheels are from the GMC Acadia (the 18" standard rim). The hatch design is very similar to the Enclaves (the shape of the rear glass). I agree with others, that it simply seems to be a melding of the Acadia/OUTLOOK/Enclave with Chevy styling cues. I guess we'll see the official version at one of the upcoming auto shows?

2008 model info
I was able to snag a 2008 Buick Lucerne brochure at a dealership that had a car show on Sunday. But generally you'll see the new model year cars/trucks before you see the brochures. And some dealerships I've used to visit for brochures are holding back. Instead of leaving them out for people to grab, they now keep them in offices or closets that only sales staff have access to. I guess this is one way to cutback on expenses... but it sucks!

Back to the Future - The Ride
Well, what about the ride did you think "sucked"? I'm a big fan of the movies, and liked the concept and architecture behind the ride, but for what it was worth, the ride was too bumpy/rough and no way in hell could 8 people fit in there comfortably (I'm only 5'9", but I avoided the back seat due to how uncomfortable it was (and if I was sitting on either end, my shoulder would be hit when the doors were closed!). The last time I was on "BTTF - The Ride" in Universal Studios: Orlando was in 2003; I went on the one in Universal Studios: Hollywood last March <2006>. I commented to the people I was with that the ride needed an overhaul and a new timeline; the ride continued with BTTF Part 2's theme of going into the future... "2015"... and that "2015" wasn't that far off into the future anymore... but I would have never thought the ride would close and be replaced. But I guess the lore of the BTTF movies has been lost to the new generation of kids and a more current ride will do better. I will never forget seeing the Orlando ride's big countdown clock to opening back in November of 1990 (ride opened in February, 1991), my first time on it in 1993, subsequent rides in 1996 and 2003 and in Hollywood's version (opened in 1993) in 1997 and 2006. Not my favorite ride, but it ranked up there for my love of the BTTF trilogy.

Spied: Chevy Lambda
Can't wait to see them. Any indication that the Chevy is a slightly rebadged Acadia/OUTLOOK?

Back to the Future - The Ride
I just learned yesterday that the "Back to the Future - The Ride" has closed and is in the process of being demolished in Universal Studios Orlando.... and that the one in Universal Studios Los Angeles is set to close for good in 20 days (September 3). So if you're in CA, a fan of this ride, and want one last chance to ride it, do so before it closes for good on September 3. And just fyi... the ride that will be built on the BTTF's site in both parks will be a Simpson's ride. I sad and happy at the same time.

I just sold the best car I've ever had
Congrats on the sale and moving forward with your plans, even if it is a sad moment in your life. That GTO was a real beauty (even if I didn't get a ride in it!). After the C&G gathering, I began to think more about the GTOs. I really like them and thought the 2006 models had the right balance of style and performance. I started looking at used '06 ones on various online websites, and today even checked out GMBuyPower.com to see if there were any remaining '06s on the lots (which I found 13). It would mean having to give up the SKY, so I'm not ready to do that quite yet. Plus I'm curious to see what new things GM has coming out soon (maybe the G8 will replace the AURA lease in Nov '09?) that will qwell the desire to get a 2-door GTO (family issues). Plus I still would love a '55-'56-'57 GMC pickup (not likely anytime soon), and the wife and homeowners association won't allow too many cars on the property. So I won't be hasty and make quick descisions without really thinking things through. Anyway, you know where you want to be and your on your way to reaching those goals. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Hot Wheels ULTRA HOTS
Just found this one this past weekend; couldn't pass on it! The color is corral (pinkish) over white, although the pics make it look more redish over white. The funny thing is that it's not even listed on the back of teh card with the rest of the cars in the series.

Update Page 2! GM is daring me to look elsewhere for a new vehicle
Before we pop the champagne, let's see how many other loyal GM owners get this same treatment in their time of need. It's great that Walt got what he deserved, but if he's the only case, then what good is all this celebrating? Walt, if possible, please share this view with anyone you speak to from GM. This level of service is what all GM owners should receive without jumping, diving and hopping through hoops. I know at the Wilmington factory tour, engineers were coming out to fix SKY and Solstice owners problems... but does that mean in another month or two I can drive back to the plant and get the same service as what was offered on May 19th? Probably not. So one show of effort is not good enough; any genuine owner's problem(s) should be handled correctly the first time. If that means GM puts engineers in all of their dealerships, so be it! Congrats Walt and I'll keep my fingers crossed that your problems are solved through the remaining months of your lease.

GM's Warranty: "Still The Best"
Fine, I'd be happy with a factory standard $0 deductible, 60 month/75,000 mile BTB warranty (that covers 15,000 miles per year for 5 years). If I want more coverage, then I'd be willing to pay for the extra beyond the 60/75,000 coverage. This coverage, standard on every GM vehicle (commercial/fleet could be slightly different, if needed) would really make GM stand out and show they stand behind their product for 5 years.

GM's Warranty: "Still The Best"
While the limited powertrain warranty is nice, I'd much rather have a comprehensive Bumper-To-Bumper warratny for 5 years (or even longer!) or 100,000 miles. I worry about the computers, power window motors, hvac systems, plastic pieces used on a daily basis, etc. more than the powertrain. It would be nice to know that if I owned a vehicle, it was "protected" for the amount of time I'm making payments WITHOUT adding an extra cost extended warranty.

Random Truck Showcase: Part XI
Information: http://www.geocities.com/conceptcarcentralusa/sagebrush.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just found this concept online today. I have never seen it in person, unfortuantely. Apparently this made the rounds on the 1991 auto show circuit to highlight the soon-to-be-release/all-new 1992 GMC Yukon 2-door. This isn't in any of the GMC books I have, and I find that disappointing. Has anyone here ever seen this truck before? This and the 1991 GMC Rio Grande concept/showtruck were shown together and shared development and parts.

Random Car Thread
It's too bad Sixty8 that you couldn't add this car to your post of production Caddy full-size coupes:

Wrong on so many levels
Well no, that would be just wrong. The SKY will stay exactly how it is. But my 74 year-old mother-in-law does have a '95 Mercury Cougar. Unfortunately, the rooflines of that car wouldn't look right with the '49 kit. Too bad she didn't opt for the T-bird instead back them.

Fly's Le Sabre Bon Voyage on Saturday
Since you're leaning forward, I can't tell who was helping you "wiggle the shifter" to get it started!!! (oh God, that was a good joke I made there - probably the only one, since Drew & Brian were pretty much on the ball with all the rest of the jokes) As of right now, the next C&G gathering will be June, 2008 in Carlisle, PA for the All-GM Nationals show. Start planning your trip out there now! No excuses will be accepted from anyone claiming they wished they were there last Saturday

Another car
Congrats on the Aurora purchase! Please post pictures and more details about the car ASAP.

Fly's Le Sabre Bon Voyage on Saturday
Fly, very good summary of your trip and the 18 pic collage ( :AH-HA_wink: ) was a nice touch!!!! However, you should have told that fat-ass that was blocking the SKY as you took the picture to move (I understand he was good at getting in the way of Oldsmoboi's pics too). Definitely can't wait for your return trip to this area again. Camino reminded me before I headed home that we agreed to arrange a C&G gathering at next year's All-GM Nationals show in Carlisle (June 2008). Maybe the LeSabre will be ready by then for another 1,000+ mile roadtrip??? And I would like to thank Camino for having us all over to his place and giving us a great tour of the area (the deer on your mom's road was a nice touch). I should have taken more pictures of my own, but I was too busy talking (aka running my mouth), drooling over Ocn's Sierra, and getting in the way of everybody else's picture taking. Camino's barn is simply amazing and I cannot get it out of my head. It is one of the best things to see in the area.

Wrong on so many levels
I may be alone here, but I like this one!

So I have a choice to make (+updates)
Wow... Focus or Trans Am.... Dude, you only live once - go for the Trans Am!!! But be logical about it and make sure you can afford it and that it won't kill you financially. I had a '95 Trans Am and sorely miss it; however, having two kids (13 & 2), a T/A isn't a great, practical family hauler. Go for the fun while you can. Just my :twocents:

Fly's Le Sabre Bon Voyage on Saturday
Oh I had this really strange feeling as Fly and his friend pulled out of the parking lot in my SKY and he yelled out that I could take the LeSabre home instead Ocn, see I told you that you should have stayed. Geez, you could always go to next year's reunion . You choose family over the SKY - what's wrong with you man?!?!?! Hahahahaha! I lowered the top, put down the windows, handed over the keys and waited patiently for the four of them to have their turn behind the wheel. I would have let Camino's mom take it out too, but I had a hard enough time just getting her to sit in the darn car! (thanks Oldsmboi!) Thinking back now, I should have let Camino take his mom out in it Yes, your Sierra is one fine truck . I think if you stuck around, you would have stolen the thunder from my SKY Which is a shame really, because the "thunder" was suppose to be all about Fly and the LeSabre anyway. I'm not one for major mods to my vehicles, but if I happen to get a 2008 or 2009 Sierra next summer, I definitely want the name of the Menonite shop that did your exhaust. That was one sweet sound! I have one of those frontend shots of your truck as my desktop picture. Oh, attached are the pictures of the 2006 SEMA GMC Sierra All-Terrain show truck we were talking about, just in case you haven't seen it yet.

Fly's Le Sabre Bon Voyage on Saturday
Camino, if you liked the one I already posted, attached are the other three that I took. :AH-HA_wink: Ocn, I can't get your truck out of my head! It's one great looking truck. I actually wanted to go for a ride in it, but unfortunately you couldn't stay long enough for me to ask (and subsequently, you didn't get to take the SKY out like the others ). I'm seriously considering getting a Sierra next year even more now that I saw AND heard <great exhaust note man!> your truck (even though the Acadia is a more practical family hauler).

Fly's Le Sabre Bon Voyage on Saturday
Attached are the pictures I took of the gathering (sorry, not many). Enjoy! Me & the SKY made it home safe and sound around 10:45 PM (left Berwyn around 9:30ish). Camino, the road you told me to take - with all the twisties - was fun! I drove all the way home with the top down - at night it was beautiful (compared to the really hot day). Only thing I experienced was right past the lastr Philly exit (351) a Jeep Liberty about 3-4 car lenghts in front of me blew a tire going about 70 MPH. I never heard a tire blow on the turnpike (usually because the windows are up and the AC or heat's on), so it was interesting to say the least. At first I was like "what the hell was that sound", then realized the Jeep in front of me was fighting to stay straight. I then realized they lost a tire; they pulled over safely and had to deal with that crappy issue in the dark around 10:30 PM. I had a great time Saturday night - seeing those I've met previously again, and meeting new people. Fly, I'm glad you and Richie made it home safely and I hpe the trip was an experience you'll remember forever.
