I thought the steering wheel looked out of place in that interior! There were some small parking lot dings I could see in the body (I definitely remember two small dimples in the driver's door), and the paint was shiny yet it looked like orange peel was visible (either an older restoration/paint job, or original paint - not sure). I'll admit though, I don't see '63 G/P's outside of the major car shows, and almost never on the side of a highway for sale. But I have no restoration skills or knowledge, so like you said the asking price will be the main factor for you. Please post a follow-up after you speak with the owner; I'm curious to find out what he's asking for it and what he has to tell you about it.

Thius isn't a trivia question per say, more like a request for information. I attended a local car show today and saw this 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria on display: After taking the picture, I saw this emblem on the front fender: I was surprised to see the word "Thunderbird" on the emblem. Since I'm not up on my classic Ford knowledge, what exactly does this badge represent???

Back in 1990, a friend of mine purchased a used 1985 or 1986 Fiero SE. He let me drive it around the block - I was 15 at the time! It was the first car I drove, although illegally, on the road (I had driven my dad's Ranger around my uncle's 9 acre property prior to this though). That truly began my love affair of the Fiero, troublesome or not. I too wanted a 1988 Formula or GT model, but decided to get the SKY instead.

I agree with you about the Pontiac, Buick, and Cadillac nameplates needing to make a return. But, the S-10 name needed changing to fit within the rest of the Chevy truck line (Silverado, Avalanche, Tahoe, etc). GMC should have kept "Sonoma" instead of renaming it "Canyon"; it doesn't fit in with the other GMC names (Sierra, Yukon, Denali, etc). And the Sonoma name had a good following since the name appeared in 1991; there was no bad baggage attached like Grand Am, Cavalier, Sunfire, etc had.

See the attached pics for the Caprices I prefer ('91-'92). I like the rear quarter panel design that partially covers the rear wheel; however, this was one of the biggest complaints at the time, hence GM redesigning the quarter panel (by opening up the wheel well) for the '93 m-y (as seen in the gray one from Ninety-Eight's post).

Balthazar, I was out that way for dinner tonight so I stopped by to see it (yeah, in the dark!). Here's what I can tell you about it: It's definitely a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix, looks mostly original in condition (garage kept or maybe an older restoration?), it's a dark blue on the exterior, with a lighter blue on the interior, 8-lug aluminum wheels, automatic trans, odo looked like it stated 84,xxx miles. You can tell in the dark with a flashlight that the chromeed area of the taillights looks bad/needs work or replacing. No asking price on the "For Sale" signs, just a #. I'll PM you the phone # so you can call if you'd like to. I found out today that a town not far away from this car is having their first car show (all the older, main street towns are doing this nowadays) tomorrow, so if I can swing back by, I'll try to get some pics for you. Anyone else really interested in the phone #, PM me and I'll reply back with it. I liked it a lot, but still not as much as the '62 G/P. And I wouldn't give up the SKY for just any old vehicle now! (anyone know of a resonably priced, fully restored '55-'57 GMC for sale??? :AH-HA_wink: )

As far as I can recall, only the 2-door Blazers and Jimmys had the 5-speed manual trans as an option - and not many dealers stocked manuals in (the dealer I had worked for never had any 2-doors with the manuals, during '99-'00). All 4-doors had the auto standard; this would include the Bravada too.

Back in '93-'95, a college friend of mine uncle owned a 1990 Caprice Classic Brougham in black with I think a gray interior. He kept it spotless and absoulutely loved it. He was in his 60s at the time and I believe he said it was going to be his last new car. His uncle retired in '95, when my friend graduated, and they all moved back to Texas (his uncle was a professor at the college) with the car in tow. A neighbor where I grew up owned nothing but Caprices. I remember he had several of the '80s versions, but the one I liked best was his '91 or '92 Caprice Classic/LTZ. Not too many people like the "bath tub" 1991+ style (outside of the '94-'96 Impala SS), but if I had the opportunity to pick one up in nice shape for cheap, I would. I often pass an elderly owned '91-'93 Caprice Classic in white with blue interior. I'm waiting for the day I see a for sale sign in it's window

The Bravada was introduced for the 1991 model year, and as far as I can remember, the 4-speed automatic has been offered in it (up to the end in 2004).

It was by chance that I happened to drive by the car while taking a different way home last Friday. The car was parked on the side of the road (in the opposite direction I was travelling in), but I always try to keep an eye out for anything old for sale on the side of the road. The car is located on Route 70, in Medford Township right before entering Evesham Twp (if you're familar with the area). I didn't have the time to make a "180" to go and check it out, but if I get a chance tomorrow or over the weekend, I'll make the trek back out that way with my camera. I will admit, if it was a '62, I'd be on that like a fly on $h*t!!!

How about a '63, for sale in Burlington County???

Oh, and I'm excited about this H3T/pickup. I'll be in the market in both 2008 and 2009, so there's always the possibility that I may end up with one. You never know!!!

I swer this info is wrong. The JT Concept has been featured in plenty of magazines in the last month or two, one of which was the Jeep enthusiasts magazine. If my memory is working correctly, I thought that this was a truck that was already being produced for the Egyptian Army and that's why the bed looks "production-ready". Again, I could be mistaken, but that's what I remember reading.And the Jeep Wrangler has been the #1 non-GM vehicle on my radar for a long time. When Hummer showed the H3T concept, I thought I'd finally be able to get what I wanted in a Jeep Wrangler (pickup), but from a GM brand. That was 3 years ago and the H3T is nowhere near getting the greenlight for production. If the JT is made, I fear I will have to abandon GM (and Hummer if a H4 is ever going to make it) and own my first non-GM vehicle.

I saw the Buick Regal at the All-GM Nationals back in June, and wasn't impressed enough to shell out $5 for it. I did find it last week at the local Wal-Mart, but still not impressed enough for the $2.89 or $3.89 selling price there. I did find the Cutlass last night at Target, and they also had the '62 Corvair Monza in light blue. Maybe I'm getting older (or just don't have the cash to spend as freely!), but I haven't really been buying too many JL lately

Okay, who else here was up at 12:01 AM, waiting outside (or inside) for the latest edition of the Harry Potter series??? I will admit that I was just as interested in it as my 13 y-o stepson is. I was just fine waiting until Saturday morning to go and pick up a copy from the local Target, but the main town next to me (Mount Holly) had a "Harry Potter" party in their historical village shops and I figured my money would be better spent keeping a small mom & pop bookstore alive, rather than lining another Big Box's coiffers. Anyone else here get one at midnight, or planning to get one soon?

jessi_chan, I know that in NJ the police will ask you if you want to go to the hospital and if you decline, you must sign a waiver stating that you choose not to go at the time. It doesn;t mean you have no injuries, it just means that you refused medical care at the scene - so maybe the same is true where you live. I also know that in NJ, your auto insurance covers your medical expenses from the accident, and whatever isn't covered then goes to your primary healthcare coverage. You should definitely check into these issues with your insurance company pronto, and if DF has any pains, he needs to get checked out ASAP. The car loss is terrible, but deal with the human part first. Again, heed my warning about your personal items in the Prizm being stolen. Take whatever you own out of there real soon before someone "helps" you.

I'd recommend another visit to the tow yard to retrieve your belongings before someone "assists" you. That's a common problem when cars are not in your possession while waiting for the insurance company to do their thing. Take everyone's advice and make sure any pains get checked out much sooner than later.
