I would just use one of the "safe for all wheels" cleaners and a rag. You can wax them once totally clean if you have that kind of patience.

I THINK those wheels are clear coated IIRC.
  3. That sounds odd, unless mabye just a short block was swapped? IIRC Vortec heads and the older intakes don't match up w/ each other.
  4. IMO the tread on these Michelins look a little more snow ready to me. Michelin Harmony 225/60-16 The BFG Traction T/A might be worth a look as well.
  5. It looks pretty good, is the underside of the hood just dirty or is that some kind of oil/smoke stains?

    Not even this fine yacht?
  7. IA plate URAPUTZ, was a little suprised they allowed that one. There was this FL one, it was a common email forward awhile back.
  8. So you're saying that The Red Green Show was actually a documentary on Canadian culture in disguise?
  9. The available EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! package. Or the rally fun pack with CB Radio. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. That ad made me think for a second. If Toyo buyers are so loyal and their cars so dependable, shoudn't at least a few of those people be driving to the dealership?
  11. I have a feeling this may just alienate more customers in the long run, and the worst part is that it is likely going to gut the dealer network the most in the midwest, where their hometown dealers may not sell tons of cars apiece but still manage to keep overall market share pretty high compared to other regions. As gm4life is familiar with as well, pretty much any town of decent size in Iowa had a small Chevy dealership. The town I grew up in had ~900 people yet had a Chevy "garage" into the 80's. Now the towns of <20,000 are probably losing their little hometown stores as well. The only problem with this is if your going to have to drive an hour into town to go to buy from the Chevy dealer, might as well check out Ford/Dodge/Honda/Toyo/etc. along the way, right?
  12. Ditto. I will take an import branded car assembled in NA anyday before a Chinese car w/ an American name slapped on it.

Might be. My '03 VUE w/ the manual trans. actually pulls it's weight around pretty decent IMO. Of course the 2.2L Ecotec despite being a little smaller in cubes probably has a flatter torque curve.
  14. I once tried that junk attempting to "re-chrome" part of a dingy, but cool old light fixture. It turned out about as "chrome" as regular silver wheel paint does.
  15. Looks like a central A/C unit somehow became wedged into the front of it.
  16. Well, at least its not one of those eBay "electric superchargers" that is really just an 80mm computer case fan.

Ehh, at least not as bad as the '93-'97 front ends were ruined by covering up the red bowtie IMO.

Last oil change I used up the last of 4 cases of NAPA Syn. from when it was on sale for $2.88 IIRC in early '07. May have to stock up on some more.

It performs best in cooling systems with a pressurized surge tank like the G6 has. The sludge issues were usually on the cars that used a radiator cap and non-pressurized overflow tank. The newer intake gaskets have improved in as well so that they are not as likely to be deteoriate from the additives in Dex. I personally still do just a radiator drain and refill (no flush) about every 3 years with fresh Dex and distilled water mixed 50/50 to keep fresh additives in the system. That may be overkill, but keeps the coolant fresh enough to eliminate the need for any flushing down the road IMO. As far as using yellow Prestone to avoid Dexcool, I wouldn't bother. It and many of the other "add to any color antifreeze" coolants also use 2-Ethylhexanoic acid, or 2-EHA, for corrosion protection so it's almost the same product as far as how the plastic intake gaskets are affected. G-05 spec. coolant for Ford or Mopar use, Peak's "Lifetime" coolant, or regular non-extended life green coolant would be the most commonly found coolants without 2-EHA if you wanted to flush and put somthing else in
  21. Yes, how dare we show some national pride and/or try to keep a US mfr. relevant in one of the last industries we still even have any chance of competing in.
  22. +1 The chance of losing a wheel to the first big pothole you'll inevitably encounter is far less sticking w/ the Mopar stuff. Either style Avenger wheel would be my choice.
  23. Yeah, but they'll still do it.
  24. Just ask Honda: I think there's more of those things out there than the real thing.
  25. Is your new PC a Quad core? :AH-HA_wink:
