Lower Midwest, borders southern Illinois. On I-70. Further south than Indianapolis or Columbus. Missouri is the southernmost state in the large Midwest region. (And I’m in the easternmost portion of the Midwest, bordering PA)..

Cadillac News: Something EXCITING Is Coming From Cadillac January 21, 2022
Apparently the output hasn't changed since 2015. The 6.2 L86/L87 has been available in all the GM full size trucks and SUVs since then apparently.

I wonder if it will have the CT5 6.2 supercharged V8 w/ 668hp? Probably with the 10 speed auto. A 6spd manual version would be cool and unique. Cadillac needs to out-Hellcat the Hellcat with 900hp versions of the CT5-V and Escalade-V.. call them the V-BAMF... 420 according to the Wikipedia.

I've found Whole Foods 365 brand Ruffles-style chips to be tastier than Ruffles. With the crappy snowy and cold weather, think I'm going to stay in and stream movies this weekend.

That’s a lot of options. Been a long time since most cars had any optional axle ratios.

Vaccine discussion
I think a core problem that we have today in the US are too many people unwilling to do anything for the greater public good, for society. Too many people hollering about ‘individual freedoms’ and other horseshit. Too many selfish assholes in this country.

The unvaccinated continue to spread the disease and fill up hospitals. They are a threat to public safety.

Those are all good ideas for dealing w/ the unvaccinated. The US should do something like that also. This has been going on too long and the useless, selfish anti-vaxxers are just stretching it out..

Yes, I love being in a neighborhood with brick houses and lots of trees. Fun factoid—the house with two snow covered cars in the driveway—one is a blue Lincoln Mark VII LSC, and there is a Buick Grand National in the garage. Of those ‘79-85 E-bodies the Eldorado was my favorite. Love the crisp lines. I like the Riviera also.

First real snow of the season. Jeep is safe and warm in the garage, not going anywhere. Snow started about 6 pm last night, still coming down.

I could see realistically 10-15% market share by 2030, maybe slightly higher.

What Are You Listening To?
Hmmm..Saturday night, January 1994...probably would have been either in a bar in Kent, Oh w./ grad school friends, at a bar in the Flats in Cleveland w/ those same friends, or in a computer lab on the Kent State campus w/ some of those same friends, working on projects...was about to finish my master's degree, and a few months later (June) moved to Ann Arbor, Mi for my 2nd round of grad school. I had my '86 Mustang LX 2.3 w/ snow tires on it then, the '87 Mustang GT would have been at the family farm in the barn. Would have been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd, early 90s grunge (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc) and industrial (Nine Inch Nails) then, with some Tori Amos in the mix.

Rivian Georgia Assembly Plant Details Leak
Amazon also announced a deal to buy ProMaster EVs from Stellantis starting in 2023, that reduces the potential for additional Rivian purchases...sounds like Amazon is going with multiple vendors for vans rather than eggs in one basket approach.

Minor update: Toyota Camry 2020 - more brains than beauty, relatively speaking ... read on
Yeah, that's where bigger side mirrors and back up cameras really help. I noticed it when I went from my '00 JGC to the '14 JGC a few years ago. Bigger vehicle with thicker pillars, smaller side and rear windows, bigger headrests, can't see any of the corners from the driver's seat. Just the way it is with modern vehicles. Driving something from 20-30 years ago is quite a difference, the cabins seem so light and airy.

Sorry. It's been so mild here...had only a light dusting of snow 3 times, nothing that stuck for long. Lots of rain and wind, and not too cold so far...

I've got my Pfizer double dose + booster.. been staying close to home, avoiding going out in public, and masking (N95) when I have to be around other people. No idea when I'll go back in the office or eat in a restaurant or go to a concert. Not anytime soon. Have felt the last week like I have a cold, but no fever or cough. I always seem to get a cold in January. I used to get sinus infections annually. Just looking forward to March and getting through winter (been a mild winter so far, by NE Ohio standards)...

Always liked the GT Hawk...was a beautiful update to the Hawk. I can only imagine the sensation the original '53 caused, it was such a clean, angular design compared to the gaudy humpy lumpys that Detroit was making then. I generally don't get into '50s cars much, but I do like the original Studebaker pre-Hawk coupes.

Interesting to see it going up over time... I know some states have value tax for registration that decreases as the value declines..so the first year for a new car is the highest...Colorado and Arizona were like that. Never saw it go up, but that was in the past. Ohio is a flat rate... my Jeep is around $65/year. Had I registered it in Arizona in 2017 when I bought it there, it would have probably been over $500/year.
