It baffles me how anybody can read any of reg's posts seriously. (or any of the other propagandists here)

Strange you never quoted cire's post on such factual stuff as THIS... Nope, no "bias" at all......LOL hahahahaha I'm thinking "sour grapes DREAMWORLD" sums this thread up MUCH more accurately.... While I'm not in love with everything about a 2008 Caravan's interior I certainly have to laugh at the "worst out there" nonsense etc....

The only Dodge work van I had was a 5.9 auto and it had 400,000K before it was put out to pasture. Never had any tranny problems whatsoever, but MORE surprising was the spark plugs were changed once. In the lifetime of the vehicle when I had it. LOL I like the MoPar powertrains for the most part, I have had a few Chevys but I probably prefer the MoPars if reliability was an issue. I know that "can't be REAL" around here.... so.... I hate them. hahaha I'll see how my Express does a year down the road....

Hyundai dubs Buick, Cadillac, Saturn "so-called 'American'"

Hyundai dubs Buick, Cadillac, Saturn "so-called 'American'"
I couldn't imagine it 20 years ago, but my NEIGHBOURS bought a Hyudai, and I had to hear the whole shmear! The warranty, the fit, the finish, etc etc etc. They think a Hyundai is built like a BMW. (Well, I'm not in love with BMWs either! LOL) Truth is, this IS brilliant advertising. It is just as effective as Consumer Reports' slanted appraisals of domestic versus imports over the last 40 years. It embeds the SEED of a thought, and that thought grows and grows. And multiplies. Statsitics can be made to reinforce ANY point of view in this scenario, and I'm sure you will all see just that. Domestic vs imported content can be skewed all sorts of ways, with hard numbers to back up the claims. As far as an ad, it is going to do EXACTLY what they hope, and the posting here and elsewhere is just the start IMO. I stick with the big two. OK, the HUGE one and the little one, because I'm not a Ford lover. But no imports for me thanks!

My wife just sold her Caravan- 1997 3.3 auto. It had 220,000+K on it, never had any tranny issues of any kind, she towed a 19 foot boat with it quite a few times on very hilly highways for hours and hours. The OLDER Chrysler minivans had tranny issues galore, but that was late 80s early 90s. My Chevy Express gets a new tranny in a week or so when I can schedule it in, it has 38,000K on it, I'm not gonna abandon it because it needs a tranny. LOL

What do you think of this center stack, with the fake wood and plastic galore? Better? Worse? http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news...ld_interior.jpg Don't even MENTION the Quest interior..... SHEER OPULENCE!

new Chrysler van interiors
I think the Quest is rather homely, mind you, I think the 2000 Chrysler minivans were better looking than the 2007 OR 2008 minivans. I think they took a step back in styling. The shifter is in a weird position, but it reminds me of the A100 vans and pickups. Minivans are usually put into drive and left in drive. If it was a sports car I would be shaking my head, but it's not a sports car. Chrysler as an "also ran" in the minivan segment must make even the diehard GM fans here laugh? Pretty funny stuff.... I think the interiors look pretty nice for a minivan. Almost TOO nice in the case of the Town and Country stuff, it's more suited to moving adults than kids and pets. The interior looks pretty innovative to me, with the seats that can all face a central table while traveling. In order to judge it I think those should look at it as if it was THEIR BRAND OF PREFERENCE, and then truly evaluate the vehicle. The "SOUR GRAPES" routine in alot of threads is getting kinda old?

new Chrysler van interiors
I've driven many Chrysler minivans over the years, and the 1996 and up are actually very nice to drive, much better than the other domestics, which is why GM and Ford probably got out of the market. They truly did NOT compete IMO, those who have driven both know what I mean.... As far as materials go, I haven't seen the new interiors- the 2008 minivans, but I'm not really sure what you are looking for..? Connelly leather and burled walnut? It's a MINIVAN! Kids, pets, cargo, you name it. I think they are pretty nice for the application. Sure are alot of "wow terrible" threads in here that could be used in ANY new car scenario. Lots of plastic inside and out on all sorts of vehicles nowadays. I'll have to look at a new minivan to see if I think this thread is ANOTHER sour grapes thread, or if it has any merit.... *shrugs* What's so cheap looking? Is this the interior you were looking at?

The past ain't what it used to be: The Edsel finally is cool
The Edsel is just learning that old cars with character were cars with CHARACTER! Alot of older cars were complete duds at the time they were new, and people now think they are "cool". Cool because they are drastically different, and they have character like no tomorrow.....

FIRST GLIMPSE! 2009 Chevrolet Traverse
I think it's just one more "also ran" in an already overcrowded market.

Chrysler won't trim marques, but may dump models
Why, my wife bought one. THAT's the good reason! LOL Now lift that banner!

Chrysler won't trim marques, but may dump models
LOL Ok, you are talking about..... USED CAR PRICES? Used car prices mean very little as far as "mine vs his- resale". I assume you know that. The Holden GTOs could be bought for a song. Even the new ones on the lots were being blown out at ridiculous prices. There isn't really a comparison there at all. Your brother should have bought a Magnum R/T- it's not even comparable power wise to his V6, and it also not only gets better MPG than his 3.5 V6, it's also rated better on the highway.

Time: 50 worst cars of all time
That's one of the dumbest lists I've ever seen. What's the criteria? Some guy tosses his opinions into a hat and pulls the first 50? Some of the cars listed don't make any sense whatsoever IMO.

OUCH! After digging a little more I see the overheating problems with the XLR-V are pretty common. Autobytel even says the car is ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS, and they had overheating problems during their testing! OUCH!!!!!! From http://www.autobytel.com/content/shared/ar...cle_id_int/2055 I guess NO car is "perfect"..?
-
Chrysler won't trim marques, but may dump models
Hopefully you don't have the overheating issue on your XLR-V. There is a TSB on it. (Overheating on a $75,000 car???) From https://www.car.com/content/shared/articles...cle_id_int/2055

Congrats! You are the ONLY person on the planet with a brand new car with NO depreciation! If your brother REALLY owns a Magnum, give him the LXforums.com website link. http://www.lxforums.com/board/index.php?
