  1. Some parts of this thread made my brain cry sad tears.
  2. Has anyone else seen an Oddy in that light blue color and though it was an optical illusion? It looks really weird in that color, I cant quite put my finger on it. And the ad isn't working for me either.

iTunes has used Shuffle mode today to remind me of Avril, Cher and R.E.M. all of whom would compete for most annoying artist (Complicated, Gypsies,Tramps and Thieves and Man on the Moon, respectively) if it weren't for that damned Deerhoof song.
  4. No good unless they offer it as a pillarless hardtop Camaro with a V8, 6-speed manual and sell it for $18k.
  5. $2.27 baby!!! Cheap gas is back!!
  6. Being from the South Side, I'll be rooting for the Sox. I was quite pleased to watch the Cardinals (should I bring back the Chokeinals name?) lose.

There was a hot blonde nearby when I took mine, I'm pretty sure she single-handidly brought my score down. They should account for that.

My "bad driving record" consists of ONE speeding ticket, as of right now. I had one that fell off over the summer. A bunch that didn't go on my record (I *heart* being able to plead guilty to equip. violations) and an accident in which nobody was at fault. I currently pay $208/month for my L200 with so-so coverage. It would've been closer to $300 for the Mini. I had been paying $275/month on the Saturn but that was with a car payment of $186/month. The Mini would have been a little more than that $275 for INS but almost twice that for car payments.

I've gotten online scores anywhere from 115-145. I've only taken one "real" one and, lets just say it was closer to 145 than to 115.

Yeah, I really like American Idiot as an album. As a whole, it is great. But hearing the singles played four times an hour gets old.
  11. I'm going to steal the line C&D used on the Bonnie GXP. An expensive dose of so-so. Not great, not terrible. Perfectly Lexus.
  12. I'll just direct you to www.50cent.com and you'll see why you do not appear to fit the demographic.
  13. Funny, I would have pegged Raz for a 50 Cent fan. :P

I strongly consdier it way too often. Like a few months ago when I almost pulled the trigger on getting an '05 Civic then realized I didn't have the money to register it. Similar situation a few weeks ago with a Mini Cooper that would be in my garage now if it weren't for the insurance I would have had to pay. Damn bad driving record.
  15. It wont get any mainstream coverage here, since it doesn't effect any cars here, unless Toyota started selling RHD vehicles in the states. That would be like NBC reporting on a Holden recall, nobody here cares.
  16. Overhaulin cars also have "steal me" and "give it to me again mr. insurance man, no lube" written all over them. I agree that they are more suited for daily duty than the PmR crap, but most likely they're going to be garage queens that see occasional weekend cruising duty. Not everyone can afford that. If the people whose cars got overhauled had money laying around, the cars wouldn't look like they do when they get brought in.
  17. There are exceptions, of course, but that list is mostly complete crap music that people love having shoved down their throats.

I think that may have taken six years off of my life.

Funny you should bring the damned song from Lam Chops Play Along up. I was in an English class last spring where we got into groups to write plays that other groups in the clas would perform. Well, the play my group performed starred a guy who was supposed to be completely stoned (that was me) who started singing that unprovoked in the middle of the play. Twas awesome.

The BEP thread got me thinking about annoying songs. There are a lot of songs that I dislike because they suck or because they get overplayed or they just rub me the wrong way. But I really think Panda Panda Panda by Deerhoof is the most annoying song ever. It sounds like something a 5 year old would walk around singing.

We're going to dim the lights, play some slow songs, and get to know each other a little better.
  22. Re-reading the list, I think it should be named the "500 Songs that suburban white kids think they are cool for listening to." If they made a multi-disc album of all these songs, I'd feel compelled to go buy a used Honda, throw on a backwards baseball cap, pop my collar, put disc one in, turn the bass up and drive around pointlessly. Oh wait, they dont have to make an album, this list is just the crap they play on Clearchannel and Journal Broadcast Group radio stations.
  23. Same reason people shave doorhandles, antennas, etc. To make the car appear smoother. Function follows form in this case, apparently. I'm sure most of the cars end up sold on eBay, just like Pimp my Ride.
  24. That song has officially ruined the phrase "junk in the trunk."
  25. Just because people buy it doesn't make it good. Just look at the Camry.
